Numerous complex situations arising from science and engineering are modeled by integral-differential equations (IDEs). Examples of these situations include mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, epidemics, circuit analysis, voltage drop equations, computational neuroscience, intergalactic modeling, and many more. To explain the mathematical structure and the behavior of various phenomena in nature, two equations with simple mathematical structure namely: the (1 + 1)-dimensional integro-differential Ito equation (IDIE) and the (2 + 1)-dimensional integro-differential Sawada-Kotera equation (IDSKE) are considered. In this analytical investigation, we have conducted an in-depth enquiry to trace the distinctive closed form progressive wave solutions of these proposed models using the ([Formula presented])-expansion method. The graphical forms of the acquired solutions have been displayed in the bell-shaped soliton, singular periodic, and anti-kink shape soliton solutions after the values for the free parameters were specified. The two non-algebraic solutions, named, exponential and trigonometric function solutions, have emerged by applying our proposed method. Based on the general findings of our investigation for different parametric values, the attained wave solutions revealed can keep a vital role for natural balances and can be engaged in modern physical applications. The parameters have a visible effect on the wave amplitude and the swiftness of the traveling wave. The executed outcomes are innovative and have monumental applications in the present research, especially in the fields of theoretical physics, astrophysics, plasma physics, particle physics, theory of relativity, advance quantum mechanics, string theory, and geotechnical engineering. © 2023 The Author(s)

During the magnetization process, the increase in magnetization is blocked by the increase in the magnetic field strength. The reason for these magnetic delays may be the magnetic anisotropy of the tested material. In crystalline materials, this phenomenon is quite well described and is related to the parameters of the crystal lattice. For amorphous alloys, which do not have long-range atomic order, this phenomenon has been much less studied. The paper presents the results of studies on the primary magnetization curves for two different alloys showing soft magnetic properties measured in three different directions: parallel to the casting direction, perpendicular to this direction, and perpendicular to the alloy surface. As indicated by the research, in amorphous materials, one can distinguish the direction of diffIcult magnetization and two easier ones, which means that the phenomenon of magnetic anisotropy occurs in them. © 2025 Polska Akademia Nauk. This study clarifies the data error rates optimization for OFC/OWC channels based on different transmission codes. These codes that are namely multi bits/symbol digital pulse interval modulation (DPIM), multi bits/symbol pulse position modulation (PPM), nonreturn to zero inverted (NRZI), 4 bit data symbol/5 bit code (4B5B), and Manchester for upgrading optical wired/wireless communication systems. The optical power through OFC/OWC channels, S/N ratio, the output power at the receiver side are stimulated with high bit transmission rates. The effects of coding complexity on the Q-factor, BER, optical power, and electrical received power are also stimulated using both DPIM and PPM coding. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.

This paper proposes and evaluates a practical method for extraction and calculation of an inductor AC resistance from an impedance measurement. The method is based on complex permeability model, which mitigates an issue with core loss that can yield to significant errors in the prediction. The experimental measurements are done by a vector network analyzer and core loss estimations, which prove the method versatility to the wide range of wire types and ferrite core sizes.

A Telemedicine network that uses connectivity and information technology to transmit medical signals such as neurological signals Electroencephalography (EEG) has become a reality for medical services of long distances. In the monitoring of mobile healthcare, these signals need to be compressed for the efficient utilization of bandwidth and the confidentiality of these signals, where compression is a critical tool to solve storage and transmission problems and can then retrieve the original signal (OS) from the compressed signal. The objective of this manuscript is to achieve higher compression gains at a low bit rate while maintaining the integrity of clinical details and also encrypting the signal to keep it private, except for specialists. Thresholding techniques are utilized in the compression stage, the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Instead, Huffman Encoding (HuFE) is utilized for compression and EEG signal encryption with chaos. This manuscript addresses the encoding of EEG signals with consistency for Telemedicine applications. To test the proposed method, overall compression and reconstruction (ComRec) time (T) was measured, the root mean square (RMSE), and the compression ratio (CR). Findings from the simulation show that the addition of HuFE after the DWT algorithm gives the best CR and complexity efficiency. The findings show that the consistency of the reconstructed signal (Rs) is maintained at a low PRD while yielding better findings in compression. Utilizing the DWT as a loss compression algorithm followed by the HuFE as a lossy compression algorithm, CR = 92.9% at RMS = 0.16 and PRD = 5. 4131%. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The increasing demand for eco-friendly packaging materials has driven extensive research into biodegradable alternatives. This paper focuses on enhancing starch-based films' mechanical and water barrier properties by incorporating electrospun PLLA fibers, with oxidized sucrose introduced as novel crosslinking agent. Varying oxidized sucrose concentrations (3–15 wt%) were examined for their impact on the films structure and performance. Results demonstrate that oxidized sucrose functionates as both an effective crosslinker and compatibilizer, improving integration between the starch matrix and PLLA fibers. This dual functionality contributes to a more cohesive and durable film structure, providing significant enhancements over non-crosslinked films. The formulation with 9 wt% oxidized sucrose exhibited a tensile strength of 1.8 MPa and an elongation at break of 40%, surpassing traditional alternatives. Additionally, water barrier properties reached the expected standards, positioning this film as highly promising for practical applications. These findings highlight the potential of oxidized sucrose to advance biodegradable packaging solutions. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this study, we introduce an innovative methodology for robust twist angle identification in bilayer graphene using Raman spectroscopy, featuring the integration of generative adversarial network and convolutional neural network (GAN-CNN). Our proposed approach showcases remarkable resistance to noise interference, particularly in ultra-low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) conditions. We demonstrate the GAN-CNN model's robust learning capability, even when SNR reaches minimal levels. The model's exceptional noise resilience negates the necessity for preprocessing steps, facilitating accurate classification, and substantially reducing computational expenses. Empirical results reveal the model's prowess, achieving heightened accuracy in twist angle identification. Specifically, our GAN-CNN model achieves a test accuracy exceeding 99.9% and a recall accuracy of 99.9%, relying on an augmented dataset containing 4209 spectra. This work not only contributes to the evolution of noise-resistant spectral analysis methodologies but also provides crucial insights into the application of advanced deep learning techniques for bilayer graphene characterization through Raman spectroscopy. The findings presented herein have broader implications for enhancing the precision and efficiency of material characterization methodologies, laying the foundation for future advancements in the field. © 2024, CC BY.

A smart city is an Internet-based application of things that automates city management with no need for human interference. Exchanging data via devices obviate some challenges in intelligent cities. In a smart city, Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices may detect sensitive data, posing a risk of privacy violation and system harm. We discover that existing solutions are either too expensive or ineffective at limiting unintended disclosure of sensitive data to build a dependable, smart city. The fact that they create static surroundings is the fundamental reason behind this. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technology has recently evolved to configure the network for performance and monitoring improvement. This study offers a work-in-progress that uses the SDN to protect the privacy of IoT devices by creating a dynamic SDN-based privacy-preserving ecology. The mechanism of the SDN controller performs under the nodes' mutual trust;it chooses various routes from the IoT device to the Cloud space destination dependent on the level of confidence. The packet is re-routed if the SDN controller identifies a device that does not trust its neighbor. Then it instructs the owner to deliver data over a different path. To demonstrate its improved performance, we are currently evaluating it from the perspective of overhead criteria in the future. © 2022 IEEE.

Continuous-variable (CV) quantum computing is a promising candidate for quantum computation because it can utilize infinite-dimensional Hilbert space even with one mode and efficiently handle continuous values. Although the photonic platforms have been considered as a leading platform for CV computation, hybrid systems comprising qubits and bosonic modes, e.g., superconducting hardware, have shown significant developments because they can prepare non-Gaussian state by utilizing the nonlinear interaction between the qubits and the bosonic modes. However, the experimentally realizable size of hybrid hardware is currently restricted. Moreover, the fidelity of the non-Gaussian state is still limited. In this work, by developing the projective squeezing method, we establish the formalism for projecting quantum states onto the states that are unitary-transformed from the squeezed vacuum at the expense of the sampling cost. Based on this formalism, we propose methods for simulating larger quantum devices and projecting the state onto one of the typical non-Gaussian states, the cubic phase state, with a higher squeezing level and higher nonlinearity. For practical implementation, we can apply the smeared projector either by linear-combination-of-unitaries or virtual quantum error detection algorithms by leveraging the interactions in hybrid systems of qubits and bosonic modes. We numerically verify the performance of our methods and also show that the effect of photon-loss errors can be suppressed due to projection. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Disentangling sources of multifractality in time series

This contribution addresses the question commonly asked in scientific literature about the sources of multifractality in time series. Two primary sources are typically considered. These are temporal correlations and heavy tails in the distribution of fluctuations. Most often, they are treated as two independent components, while true multifractality cannot occur without temporal correlations. The distributions of fluctuations affect the span of the multifractal spectrum only when correlations are present. These issues are illustrated here using series generated by several model mathematical cascades, which by design build correlations into these series. The thickness of the tails of fluctuations in such series is then governed by an appropriate procedure of adjusting them to q-Gaussian distributions, and q is treated as a variable parameter that, while preserving correlations, allows to tune these distributions to the desired functional form. Multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis (MFDFA), as the most commonly used practical method for quantifying multifractality, is then used to identify the influence of the thickness of the fluctuation tails in the presence of temporal correlations on the width of multifractal spectra. The obtained results point to the Gaussian distribution, so q = 1, as the appropriate reference distribution to evaluate the contribution of fatter tails to the width of multifractal spectra.
