Robust quantum control is crucial for realizing practical quantum technologies. Energy landscape shaping offers an alternative to conventional dynamic control, providing theoretically enhanced robustness and simplifying implementation for certain applications. This work demonstrates the feasibility of robust energy landscape control in a practical implementation with ultracold atoms. We leverage a digital mirror device (DMD) to shape optical potentials, creating complex energy landscapes. To achieve a desired objective, such as efficient quantum state transfer, we formulate a novel hybrid optimization approach that effectively handles both continuous (laser power) and discrete (DMD pixel activation) control parameters. This approach combines constrained quasi-Newton methods with surrogate models for efficient exploration of the vast parameter space. Furthermore, we introduce a framework for analyzing the robustness of the resulting control schemes against experimental uncertainties. By modeling uncertainties as structured perturbations, we systematically assess controller performance and identify robust solutions. We apply these techniques to maximize spin transfer in a chain of trapped atoms, achieving high-fidelity control while maintaining robustness. Our findings provide insights into the experimental viability of controlled spin transfer in cold atom systems. More broadly, the presented optimization and robustness analysis methods apply to a wide range of quantum control problems, offering a toolkit for designing and evaluating robust controllers in complex experimental settings. The current research concentrated on the Co-precipitation synthesis of g-C3N4 (CN), ZnO, ZnO/CN, and Co-doped ZnO/CN nanocomposite, as well as the solar light enhanced photocatalytic treatment of Reactive Red 120 (RR120) from genuine wool textile effluent. The 3D flower-like structure of Co-doped ZnO distributed on the surface of CN thin sheets, according to structural studies employing XRD and SEM examinations Electrochemical experiments exhibited that the Co-doped ZnO/CN nanocomposite has a large electroactive surface area. The optical band-gap values of CN, ZnO, ZnO/CN, and Co-doped ZnO/CN nanocomposites were 2.68, 3.13, 2.38, and 2.23 eV, respectively, according to optical characterizations. The synergistic effects and heterojunction produced by Co-doped ZnO and CN can be linked to the narrow gap in nanocomposites. After 75, 60, 50, and 40 min of exposure to solar light, photocatalytic degradation assays for 250 mL of 20 mg/L RR120 solution in the presence of CN, ZnO, ZnO/CN, and Co-doped ZnO/CN nanocomposites demonstrated 100% dye treatment. The applicability of photocatalysts for decolorization of 250 mL of 10 mg/L RR120 prepared from actual wool textile wastewater was investigated, and the results showed that Co-doped ZnO/CN nanocomposites for treatment of RR120 from actual wool textile wastewater were highly efficient at photocatalytic degradation. © 2023

Neural network reconstruction of cosmology using the Pantheon compilation

In this work, we reconstruct the Hubble diagram using various data sets, including correlated ones, in Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Using ReFANN, that was built for data sets with independent uncertainties, we expand it to include non-Guassian data points, as well as data sets with covariance matrices among others. Furthermore, we compare our results with the existing ones derived from Gaussian processes and we also perform null tests in order to test the validity of the concordance model of cosmology. Perturbations of Q-balls: from spectral structure to radiation pressure

We investigate Q-balls in a 1+1 dimensional complex scalar field theory. We find that the relaxation of a squashed Q-ball is dominated by the decay of a normal mode through nonlinear coupling to scattering modes and a long-lasting quasi-normal mode. We also study how these Q-balls behave when exposed to scalar radiation, finding that for certain conditions they can experience negative radiation pressure. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Neural network reconstruction of scalar-tensor cosmology

Neural networks have shown great promise in providing a data-first approach to exploring new physics. In this work, we use the full implementation of late time cosmological data to reconstruct a number of scalar-tensor cosmological models within the context of neural network systems. In this pipeline, we incorporate covariances in the data in the neural network training algorithm, rather than a likelihood which is the approach taken in Markov chain Monte Carlo analyses. For general subclasses of classic scalar-tensor models, we find stricter bounds on functional models which may help in the understanding of which models are observationally viable. A summary of precision measurements sensitive to electroweak, QCD and quark-flavour effects performed by the ATLAS Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider is reported. The measurements are predominantly performed on proton–proton (pp) collision data recorded at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV taken from 2015 to 2018, with an integrated luminosity of up to 140 fb⁻¹, with some results based on pp and Pb+Pb data recorded at lower nucleon centre-of-mass energies. The results cover a wide range of topics, from strong production of particles at low energies and the spectroscopy of hadrons to perturbative QCD with hadronic jets and electroweak and strong production of single and multiple vector bosons. They provide precise measurements of fundamental constants and stringent tests of the Standard Model with unprecedented precision and in energy ranges never explored before. They are also used to explore the proton structure and to perform model-independent searches for new physics. © 2024 CERN for the benefit of the ATLAS Collaboration

In parallel and distributed communication networks, task scheduling is essential for attaining the best system performance. Innovative ways that may intelligently distribute computing resources while minimizing energy consumption and maintaining system resilience are required due to the rising need for energy efficiency and fault tolerance. This system, offers a unique approach to job scheduling in parallel and distributed communication networks that integrate genetic algorithms (GA) and machine learning (ML).Using ML approaches, proposed method analyses historical task execution data to discover patterns that may be applied to task execution time prediction in various computing systems. As a result, this can assign tasks to resources effectively, maximize resource usage, and cut down on execution time as a whole. In addition, using predefined objectives like energy efficiency and fault tolerance, GA is used to find the best task-resource assignments. This applies resilient computing approaches to the job scheduling procedure to overcome problems with fault tolerance. This prevents the execution of crucial operations from being hampered by system faults or resource shortages by utilizing fault detection and recovery technologies. This system can adapt dynamically to shifting network conditions through the combination of ML, GA, and resilient computing, which raises the entire system's reliability and availability.

Single-molecule magnets (SMMs) with chemically tailorable properties are potential building blocks for quantum computing, high-density magnetic memory, and spintronics.1 2 3,4 These applications require isolated or few molecules on substrates, but studies of SMMs have mainly focused on bulk crystals. Moreover, fabrication of SMM-based devices and electrical detection of the SMM magnetic state are still coveted milestones that have so far been achieved mainly for double-decker rare-earth phthalocyanines at temperatures below 1 K.5-8 Here we demonstrate electrical detection of magnetization switching for a modification of the archetypal SMM Mn12, up to 70 K, based on the supramolecular spin valve effect5 with graphene quantum dots9. Notably, the exchange interaction between the molecules and the graphene, as well as the dot-mediated intermolecular interaction, can be directly extracted from the electrical response, opening the way to an effective characterization of the quantum properties of different types of SMMs in a wide temperature range. Breakdown of heteroclinic connections in the analytic Hopf-Zero singularity: Rigorous computation of the Stokes constant

Consider analytic generic unfoldings of the three dimensional conser-vative Hopf-Zero singularity. Under open conditions on the parameters determining the singularity, the unfolding possesses two saddle-foci when the unfolding parameter is small enough. One of them has one dimensional stable manifold and two dimensional unstable manifold whereas the other one has one dimensional unstable manifold and two dimensional stable manifold. Baldomá, Castejón and Seara [BCS13] gave an asymptotic for-mula for the distance between the one dimensional invariant manifolds in a suitable transverse section. This distance is exponentially small with respect to the perturbative parameter, and it depends on what is usually called a Stokes constant. The non-vanishing of this constant implies that the distance between the invariant manifolds at the section is not zero. However, up to now there do not exist analytic techniques to check that condition. In this paper we provide a method for obtaining accurate rigor-ous computer assisted bounds for the Stokes constant. We apply it to two concrete unfoldings of the Hopf-Zero singularity, obtaining a computer assisted proof that the constant is non-zero. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
