Long-lived particles decaying to e±µν, with masses between 7 and 50 GeV/c2 and lifetimes between 2 and 50 ps, are searched for by looking at displaced vertices containing electrons and muons of opposite charges. The search is performed using 5.4 fb−1 of pp collisions collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of √s = 13 TeV. Three mechanisms of production of long-lived particles are considered: the direct pair production from quark interactions, the pair production from the decay of a Standard-Model-like Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV/c2, and the charged current production from an on-shell W boson with an additional lepton. No evidence of these long-lived states is obtained and upper limits on the production cross-section times branching fraction are set on the different production modes. © 2020, CC BY.

The decays B+ → J/ψ π+π-K+ are studied using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1 collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions between 2011 and 2018. Precise measurements of the ratios of branching fractions with the intermediate ψ2(3823), χc1(3872) and ψ(2S) states are reported. The values are (Equation presented) where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The decay of B+ → ψ2(3823)K+ with ψ2(3823) → J/ψ π+π- is observed for the first time with a significance of 5.1 standard deviations. The mass differences between the ψ2(3823), χc1(3872) and ψ(2S) states are measured to be (Equation presented), resulting in the most precise determination of the χc1(3872) mass. The width of the ψ2(3823) state is found to be below 5.2 MeV at 90% confidence level. The Breit–Wigner width of the χc1(3872) state is measured to be (Equation presented), which is inconsistent with zero by 5.5 standard deviations. © 2020, CC BY.

The branching fraction of the decay B+→ψ(2S)ϕ(1020)K+, relative to the topologically similar decay B+→J/ψϕ(1020)K+, is measured using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1. The ratio is found to be 0.061±0.004±0.009, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Using the world-average branching fraction for B+→J/ψϕ(1020)K+, the branching fraction for the decay B+→ψ(2S)ϕ(1020)K+ is found to be (3.0±0.2±0.5±0.2)×10−6, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is due to the branching fraction of the normalization channel.

The CKM angle γ is measured for the first time from mixing-induced CP violation between Bs0 → DsK±π±π and B0s → Ds±Kππ± decays reconstructed in proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1 recorded with the LHCb detector. A time-dependent amplitude analysis is performed to extract the CP-violating weak phase γ − 2βs and, subsequently, γ by taking the Bs0 − B0s mixing phase βs as an external input. The measurement yields γ = (44 ± 12)◦ modulo 180◦, where statistical and systematic uncertainties are combined. An alternative model-independent measurement, integrating over the five-dimensional phase space of the decay, yields γ = (44 +−2013)◦ modulo 180◦. Moreover, the Bs0 − B0s oscillation frequency is measured from the flavour-specific control channel Bs0 → Ds−π+π+π− to be ∆ms = (17.757 ± 0.007 (stat) ± 0.008 (syst)) ps−1, consistent with and more precise than the current world-average value. © 2020, CC BY.

A branching fraction measurement of the B0 → Ds+π− decay is presented using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb−1. The branching fraction is found to be B(B0 → Ds+π−) = (19.4 ± 1.8 ± 1.3 ± 1.2) × 10−6, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third is due to the uncertainty on the B0 → D−π+, Ds+ → K+K−π+ and D− → K+π−π− branching fractions. This is the most precise single measurement of this quantity to date. As this decay proceeds through a single amplitude involving a b → u charged-current transition, the result provides information on non-factorisable strong interaction effects and the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vub. Additionally, the collision energy dependence of the hadronisation-fraction ratio fs/fd is measured through B0s → Ds+π− and B0 → D−π+ decays. © 2020, CC BY.

In this paper, we introduce a promising secure and privacy-preserving incentive mechanism in the vehicular cloud (VC). Such an incentive will convince vehicles with excess sensing data to join in the VC without the risk of privacy disclosure. The proposed scheme uses the Bargain Game theory to model the interactions between a VC server (VCS) and vehicles. With the proposed incentive mechanism, the VCS can select competent vehicles with which to collaborate for the announced task, while the vehicles can earn payment for participation. Further, our mechanism ensures fairness between all participants in terms of reward. We also exploit the signcryption technique to achieve mutual authentication between the VCS and vehicles as well as to prevent the private information of these vehicles from being disclosed. Simulation results are provided to show that the proposed privacy-preserving incentive mechanism is beneficial to both the VCS and vehicles, resulting in a win-win situation.

In this paper, we propose an efficient deduplicated reporting scheme in fog-assisted vehicular crowdsensing. Based on a certificateless aggregate signcryption scheme (CLASC), the proposed scheme provides a promising approach for improving storage and communication overhead while maintaining content privacy. Specifically, roadside units (RSUs) as fog nodes are able to detect and remove any replicate crowdsensing reports without accessing information about their contents. Furthermore, the proposed scheme achieves fairness between vehicles whose reports are reduplicated and deleted. The scheme is designed with security properties, including report confidentiality, integrity, mutual authenticity, privacy, anonymity, secure data deduplication and key escrow resilience. To conclude, we elaborate on the achievement of secure data deduplication property and demonstrate the efficiency of the low computational and communication overhead of the proposed scheme.

The antiproton experiment PANDA at FAIR is designed to bring hadron physics to a new level in terms of scope, precision and accuracy. In this work, its unique capability for studies of hyperons is outlined. We discuss ground-state hyperons as diagnostic tools to study non-perturbative aspects of the strong interaction, and fundamental symmetries. New simulation studies have been carried out for two benchmark hyperon-antihyperon production channels: pp ! → ΛΛ and pp → Ξ+Ξ-. The results, presented in detail in this paper, show that hyperon-antihyperon pairs from these reactions can be exclusively reconstructed with high efficiency and very low background contamination. In addition, the polarisation and spin correlations have been studied, exploiting the weak, self-analysing decay of hyperons and antihyperons. Two independent approaches to the finite efficiency have been applied and evaluated: one standard multidimensional efficiency correction approach, and one efficiency independent approach. The applicability of the latter was thoroughly evaluated for all channels, beam momenta and observables. The standard method yields good results in all cases, and shows that spin observables can be studied with high precision and accuracy already in the first phase of data taking with PANDA. The fifirst observation of the suppressed semileptonic B0s→ K-μ+νμdecay is reported. Using a data sample recorded in pp collisions in 2012 with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb-1, the branching fraction B(B0s→ K-μ+νμ) is measured to be (1.06 ± 0.05 (stat) ± 0.08 (syst)) × 10-4, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one represents the combined systematic uncertainties. The decay B0s→ K-μ+νμ, where D-sis reconstructed in the final state K+K-π-, is used as a normalization channel to minimize the experimental systematic uncertainty. Theoretical calculations on the form factors of the B0s→ K-and B0s→ K-stransitions are employed to determine the ratio of the CKM matrix elements jVubj=jVcbj at low and high B0s→ K-momentum transfer. © 2020, CC BY.

The first test of lepton flavor universality between muons and electrons using B+→K+π+π−ℓ+ℓ− (ℓ=e, μ) decays is presented. The measurement is performed with data from proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1. The ratio of branching fractions between B+→K+π+π−e+e− and B+→K+π+π−μ+μ− decays is measured in the dilepton invariant-mass-squared range 1.1
