Multimodal Sentiment Analysis (MSA) is an attractive research that aims to integrate sentiment expressed in textual, visual, and acoustic signals. There are two main problems in the existing methods: 1) the dominant role of the text is underutilization in unaligned multimodal data, and 2) the modality under uncertain missing feature is not sufficiently explored. This paper proposes a Text-guided Reconstruction Network (TgRN) for MSA with uncertain missing modalities in non-aligned sequences. The TgRN network includes three primary modules: Text-guided Extraction Module (TEM), Reconstruction Module (RM) and Text-guided Fusion Module (TFM). First, the TEM consists of the text-guided cross attention units and self-attention units to capture inter-modal features and intra-modal features, respectively. Second, leveraging enhanced attention units and a three-way squeeze-and-excitation block, the RM is designed to learn semantic information from incomplete data and reconstruct missing modality features. Third, the TFM utilizes a progressive modality-mixing adaptation gate to explore the dynamic correlations between nonverbal and verbal modalities, effectively addressing the modality gap issue. Finally, under the supervision of sentiment prediction loss and reconstruction loss, the TgRN effectively processes both uncertain missing-modality conditions and ideal complete modality conditions. Extensive experiments on CMU-MOSI and CH-SIMS demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Finding Emotional Focus for Emotion Recognition at Sentence Level

Emotion recognition at sentence level is one of the fundamental problems of textual emotion un- derstanding. Based on the observation that sentence emo- tional focus can be expressed by some clauses in this sen- tence, this paper proposes to find the emotional focus for sentence emotion recognition. For the sake of breaking through the problems brought about by depending on emo- tion lexicons, we first recognize word emotions in a sen- tence based on Maximum entropy model. And then homo- geneous Markov model is built for clause emotion recogni- tion; After that, a strategy based on emotion selection is proposed for a sentence with multiple clauses, and genetic algorithm is used for clause selection by textual feature weighting. The experimental results show that, comparing with the baseline, there are 9.1% and 3.6% improvement respectively for two different evaluations. It is demon- strated that finding emotional focus by clause selection is able to improve the performance of sentence emotion recognition significantly.

Accurate fault locating reduces power outage time and operational costs. In this paper, a novel phasor domain transmission line fault locating algorithm is proposed. Best implementation requires GPS synchronized measurements at both terminals of the line. First, the model of the transmission line with fault is constructed using three phase distributed parameter modeling with neutral conductors and grounding representation. The model is without the assumption that the transmission line is geometrically balanced. Next, the state estimation algorithm is utilized to solve the model of the transmission line with fault, where the fault location is included as a state. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the method has higher accuracy than traditional fault locating methods, independent of fault types, locations and impedances.

Emotion recognition from speech is an important field of research in human computer interaction. In this letter the framework of Support Vector machines (SVM) with Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) supervector is introduced for emotional speech recognition. Because of the importance of variance in reflecting the distribution of speech, the normalized mean vectors potential to exploit the information from the variance are adopted to form the GMM supervector. Comparative experiments from five aspects are conducted to study their corresponding effect to system performance. The experiment results, which indicate that the influence of number of mixtures is strong as well as influence of duration is weak, provide basis for the train set selection of Universal Background Model (UBM).

Remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) using a simple consumer-level webcam has great potential for healthcare, human-computer interaction, affective computing, and many other fields. However, traditional methods based on the skin reflection model and signal processing achieved limited success. Thus, this paper presents a novel end-to-end spatial-temporal convolutional neural network for the rPPG recovering task: To preserve the details, the pooling layer is moved to the branch network, and the attention mechanism is used to enhance the backbone network performance. Moreover, the ConvLSTM was used to learn the relationship between frames. The manual features extraction and signal post-processing steps can be omitted through our end-to-end neural network. The experimental results conducted on PURE and COHFACE datasets show that the proposed method significantly improved the quality of the recovered rPPG signal. © 2019 IEEE.

Traditional 3D NoC router may encounter the situations of congestion and hot spot. And it also doesn't have the function of multicast. In this paper, we present a new routing arithmetic called Multicast Rotational Routing Arithmetic (MRRA). It can handle several destination addresses at the same time, recombine packets, sent the same data to the different destination nodes, and avoid the congestion. The proposed algorithm is implemented by the new multicast 3D NoC router which is also proposed in this paper. The 3D NoC router is designed in Verilog HDL, simulated by Modelsim, synthesized and prototyped by Synplify and FPGA respectively. The experiment results show that the multicast router of MRRA can achieve a very good performance in terms of throughput and delay. The increased area utilization also can be tolerated. © 2014 IEEE.

Extracting semantic polarity of Chinese Multiword Expression, especially some newly generated Multiword Expression from internet(such as weibo or microblog), is an important task for sentiment analysis of web texts or other real word text as some Multiword Expressions can express more integrative sentiments than words units. This paper proposes a method that contains a novel latent discriminative algorithm, which attempts to attack this problem by integrating discriminative model and latent value model. Although Chinese Multiword Expressions consist of multiple words, the semantic polarity of the Multiword Expression is not just simple integration of polarities of the component words, as some words can invert the affective polarity so the Multiword Expressions can have totally opposite semantic polarity, such as ironic texts. In order to capture the property of such Multiword Expressions, hidden semi-CRF which includes a latent valuable layer, which can be used to address dual-sequence labeling tasks synchronously, is adopted. The method is tested experimentally by adopting a manually labeled set of positive and negative Multiword Expressions from microblog or other internet resources, and the experiments have shown very promising results, which is comparable to the best value ever reported. © 2014-IOS Press and the authors. Through the analysis and study of the emotional characteristics in Chinese micro-blog, this paper proposed a multidimensional sentiment classification method based micro-blog emotion classification, emoticon in micro-blog is adopted to train the support vector machine and divide micro-blog into seven types of emotions: happiness, fondness, sorrow, anger, fear, detestation and surprise. We used micro-blog emoticon to initial screen large-scale unmarked data, and automatically labeled them into seven types, then used this emotional corpus as training set to train the emotion classifier to classify micro-blog data into multiple emotion categories. The experimental results show that precision of unigram model for each type can reach 63.7%. Meanwhile, different feature selection methods for support vector machines and Naive Bayes classifier experiment have been adopted in the experiment, the precision and recall has reached more than 71%. © 2014 IEEE.

Fuzzy reasoning aims to describe things with fuzzy and uncertain concepts and convert them into information that computers can process. Wang thought that the inference algorithm based on Compositional Rule of Inference (CRI) had certain defective nature and proposed the triple I algorithm with fully implication operator. Later, the α-universal triple I (α-UTI) algorithm was proposed. As an important part of the fuzzy inference algorithm, the implication operator directly affects the robustness of the inference algorithm, that is, affects the quality of the inference algorithm. Besides, the quality of fuzzy reasoning algorithm can be partly determined by the robustness of reasoning algorithm. In this paper, the ordinary implication operator is extended to a more general interval implication operator. And the simple perturbation of the α-UTI algorithm is studied for some specific interval implication operators under the interval-valued environment. It is observed that the α-UTI algorithm possesses good simple perturbation performance for single rule or multi-rules, in which specific interval implications are used. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.

Mapping of IP(Intellectual Property) cores onto NoC(Network-on-Chip) architectures is a key step in NoCbased designs. Energy is the key parameter to measure the designs. Therefore, we propose an Improved Simulated Annealing Genetic Alogrithm, abbreviated as ISAGA. The algorithm combines the parallelism of Genetic Algorithm(GA) and the local search ability of Simulated Annealing(SA). We improve the initial population selection of GA to get the lower power consumption mapping scheme. The experimental results show that compared with the GA, ISAGA has good convergence and can search the optimal solution quickly, which can effectively reduce the power consumption of the system. In the case of 124 IP cores, the average power consumption of the ISAGA is reduced by 32.0% compared with the GA.
