Terahertz (THz) wave as an important electromagnetic wave has been increasingly applied in wireless communication and imaging sensing technology. It has been an increasingly practical application. Ultra-high data rates in communication technology push toward a broadband, controllable polarization, and multiple transmission channels signal sources. Here, we propose a programmable polarization spintronics terahertz source (PP-STS), in which contains a controllable polarization spintronic THz emitter and a microcontroller unit. The PP-STS not only can generate THz waves with wide frequency bandwidth, but also has the function of switching the orthogonal linear polarization state of the generated THz waves flexibly. By coding the microcontroller unit, the designed PP-SPS can directly program the orthogonal linear polarization states as a series of information to transmit. To achieve the interconversions between digital codes and the THz polarization information, an optimum matching THz polarization beam splitter (THz-PBS) is also designed via simulations and experiments. The THz-PBS, as a decoder, can accurately split the transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) modes into two THz detectors. At last, a coding and decoding prototype system of spintronic THz polarization is built by integrating the PP-STS, the THz-PBS and two THz detectors. The send and receive information with high speed and accuracy are verified in this prototype system as well. We believe that our work takes THz applications for multiplexing communications one step further and sheds light on commercializing the PP-STS with exciting manufacturing lines for efficient and economical THz polarization technology. © 2023, The Authors. Commit messages are natural language descriptions of code changes, which are important for software evolution such as code understanding and maintenance. However, previous methods are trained on the entire dataset without considering the fact that a portion of commit messages adhere to good practice (i.e., good-practice commits), while the rest do not. On the basis of our empirical study, we discover that training on good-practice commits significantly contributes to the commit message generation. Motivated by this finding, we propose a novel knowledge-aware denoising learning method called KADEL. Considering that good-practice commits constitute only a small proportion of the dataset, we align the remaining training samples with these good-practice commits. To achieve this, we propose a model that learns the commit knowledge by training on good-practice commits. This knowledge model enables supplementing more information for training samples that do not conform to good practice. However, since the supplementary information may contain noise or prediction errors, we propose a dynamic denoising training method. This method composes a distribution-aware confidence function and a dynamic distribution list, which enhances the effectiveness of the training process. Experimental results on the whole MCMD dataset demonstrate that our method overall achieves state-of-the-art performance compared with previous methods. © 2024, CC BY.

Next-POI recommendation aims to explore from user check-in sequence to predict the next possible location to be visited. Existing methods are often difficult to model the implicit association of multi-modal data with user choices. Moreover, traditional methods struggle to fully explore the variation of user preferences at variable time intervals. To tackle these limitations, we propose a Multi-Modal Temporal Knowledge Graph-aware Sub-graph Embedding approach (Mandari). We first construct a novel Multi-Modal Temporal Knowledge Graph. Based on the proposed knowledge graph, we integrate multi-modal information and leverage the graph attention network to calculate sub-graph prediction probability. Next, we implement a temporal knowledge mining method to model the segmentation and periodicity of user check-in and obtain temporal prediction probability. Finally, we fuse temporal prediction probability with the previous sub-graph prediction probability to obtain the final result. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.

Emerging Non-Volatile Main Memory (NVMM) technologies generally feature high density, low energy consumption and cost per bit compared to DRAM. However, the limited write endurance of NVMM poses a significant challenge of using NVMM as an substitute for DRAM. This paper proposes a space-oblivious compression and wear-leveling based memory architecture to improve the write endurance of NVMM. As memory blocks of many applications usually contain a large amount of zero bytes and frequent values, we propose a nonuniform compression encoding scheme that integrates Zero Deduplication with Frequent Value Compression (called ZD-FVC) to reduce bit-writes on NVMM. Moreover, we leverage the memory space available through compression to achieve an intra-block wear leveling policy. It rotates the writing positions of a compressed data block within the data’s initial memory space, and thus enhances write endurance by balancing the bit-writes per NVMM cell. ZD-FVC can be integrated into the NVMM module and implemented entirely by hardware, without any intervention of Operating Systems. We implement ZD-FVC in Gem5 and NVMain simulators, and evaluate it with several programs from SPEC CPU2006. Experimental results shows that ZD-FVC is much better than several state-of-the-art approaches. Particularly, ZD-FVC can improve data compression ratio by 55% compared to Frequent Value Compression. Compared with the data Comparison Write, ZD-FVC is able to significantly improve the lifetime of NVMM by 3.3X on average, and also reduces NVMM write latency by 31% and energy consumption by 19% on average. © 2020 36th International Conference on Massive Storage Systems and technology, MSST 2020.
