Evolutionary algorithms have been adopted to design logic circuits for many years. However, it takes too much time for evolutionary algorithms to generate circuits directly. Recently, the repair technique has been introduced into evolutionary design of the circuit to significantly decrease the time cost. And yet, the repair technique costs a lot of gate resource. In this paper, the evolutionary repair for evolutionary design of the combinational circuit is proposed, which generates the repair circuits with an evolutionary algorithm. The evolutionary repair could reduce the gate resource cost and does not spend much more time. The evolutionary repair is merged into the traditional evolutionary algorithm to form a novel evolutionary design algorithm, i.e. the erEDA. The experimental results demonstrate that the erEDA could balance the time cost and the gate resource consumption.

From the viewpoints of both fuzzy system and fuzzy reasoning, a new fuzzy reasoning method which contains the α- triple I restriction method as its particular case is proposed. The previous α-triple I restriction principles are improved, and then the optimal restriction solutions of this new method are achieved, especially for seven familiar implications. As its special case, the corresponding results of α-triple I restriction method are obtained and improved. Lastly, it is found by examples that this new method is more reasonable than the α-triple I restriction method.

In cognitive radio (CR) networks, unlicensed secondary users need to conduct spectrum sensing to gain access to a licensed spectrum band. And cooperation among CR users will solve the problems caused by multipath fading and shadowing. In this paper, we propose a multi-threshold method at local nodes to cope with noises of great uncertainty. Functions of distance between bodies of evidence are used at fusion centre to make synthetic judgment. To guarantee security which is an essential component for basic network functions, we will take selfish nodes into account which try to occupy channels exclusively. The proposed technique has shown better performance than conventional algorithms without increase the system overhead.

In this paper, we try to distinguish between the posed and spontaneous facial expressions through infrared thermal images. Firstly, six statistical features are extracted from the temperature difference matrices between the apex and onset facial expression frames in each facial subregion. Secondly, the thermal differences between the posed facial expressions and spontaneous ones are analyzed by a Paired-Samples T-test. Thirdly, Bayesian Networks are adopted to classify posed and spontaneous expressions based on these temperature statistical features. Experimental results on the thermal subdatabase of the USTC-NIVE demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of posed and spontaneous expression recognition through facial temperature changes. This study also illustrates that the importance of different facial subregions' temperature variances for differentiating different kinds of posed and spontaneous expressions.

In allusion to the phenomenon of stagnation and precocity during evolution in ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm, this paper proposed a dual population parallel ant colony optimization (DPPACO) algorithm, which was applied to the traveling salesman problem. The DPPACO algorithm separated the ants into soldier ant population and worker ant population which evolve separately by parallel method and exchanges information timely. The dynamic equilibrium between solution diversity and convergence speed is achieved by using the effect of the soldier ant's distribution to worker ants' movement choice. The DPPACO algorithm can enlarge searching range and avoid local minimum, prevent local convergence caused by misbalance of the pheromone and can improve the searching performance of the algorithm effectively. The proposed algorithm is applied in the traveling salesman problem by using the 17 data sets obtained from the TSPLIB. We compare the experimental results of the proposed DPPACO method with the traditional methods. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has a better global searching ability, higher convergence speed and solution diversity.

The effect of Web information extraction depends on the quality of extraction rules. But for most approaches for Web information extraction, independence of extraction rules is their common shortages. In this paper, we propose a novel approach based on ontology for Web information extraction. We sum up four features for information items and induce these features to a group of extraction rules. Then according to a group of mapping rules between elements of ontology and extraction rules, extraction rules are well organized in ontology. According to properties of concept in ontology, the initial result of information extraction is got and then the final result is obtained by simplifying the initial results. Experiments show that our approach has higher precision.

The whole procedure of laser scanning color 3D data from the aspect of 3D data processing includes the pre-processing of point clouds and the surface reconstruction. This paper proposes improved point clouds data simplification algorithm in 3D data processing, it is the adjustment of simplification algorithm under the restriction of color boundary compared to the key simplification algorithms of the pre-processing for color 3D point clouds. The transfer regulation of qualitative constrain is used in the simulation and reasoning of system diagnosis. This arithmetic takes observed faulty state as the beginning, to diagnosis the discrepancy of variable and location of the causation according to the transfer regulation of qualitative constraint, reasons from faulty diagnosed to examine the result and delete the redundancy of diagnosis result.
