Predicting traffic is a complex problem that involves both space and time. This study focuses on the spatial aspect of this challenge, specifically how groups of road sections behave and interact within a city. Leveraging the well-regarded Louvain algorithm, we partition the urban road network into distinct communities. To augment the predictive power of models, we implement a learnable embedding layer that integrates generated groups with the input. We test our idea with a classic and simple model called Temporal Graph Convolutional Network (T-GCN). The obtained results highlight the promise of this avenue of research and emphasize its value for further investigation. Notably, the interpretability of the generated embeddings is demonstrated. By extracting meaningful relationships and disparities among communities, we provide insights into the dynamics of the road network. This approach enhances traffic prediction and contributes to a deeper understanding of the spatial interactions within urban road systems.

In this study,a new algorithm of fractional beta chaotic maps is proposed to generate chaotic sequences for image *** proposed technique generates multi random sequences by shuffling the image pixel *** technique is used to blur the pixels connecting the input and encrypted images and to increase the attack *** proposed algorithm makes the encryption process sophisticated by using fractional chaotic maps,which hold the properties of *** fractional beta sequences are utilized to alter the image pixels to decryption *** experimental results proved that the proposed image encryption algorithm successfully encrypted and decrypted the images with the same *** output findings indicate that our proposed algorithm has good entropy and low correlation *** translates to enhanced security against different attacks.A MATLAB programming tool was used to implement and assess the image quality measures.A comparison with other image encryption techniques regarding the visual inspection and signal-to-noise ratio is provided.

In this paper, we developed and investigated some four-dimensional profit maximization transportation problems considering damageablity and substitutability, where the parameters are of a type-2 normal uncertain variable in nature. Here, unit transportation cost, distances of the paths, fixed charges, rate of breakability, availability, demands, capacities of conveyances, the unit selling price, unit purchasing cost, unit procurement cost are regarded as type-2 normal uncertain variables. Two models are formulated based on two separate criteria of the substitution items. We use a critical value-based reduction method to reduce type-2 normal uncertain variables into type-1 normal uncertain variables and then apply some properties of uncertainty theory to convert the profit transportation parameters into deterministic form. The two deterministic models are solved using the optimization software named LINGO -18.0. A real-life numerical example and optimal results are presented here to show the application of the proposed model and the proposed reduction method. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.

We find a set A ⊆ Z2 that depends on N and D only and is of size O(D2N log N) such that the values of f on A determine f. Notice that the size of A is only larger by a logarithmic quantity than the number of parameters needed to write down f. We use this in order to prove some uniqueness results about polygonal regions given a small set of samples of the Fourier Transform of their indicator function. If the number of different slopes of the edges of the polygonal region is ≤ k then the region is determined from a predetermined set of Fourier samples that depends only on k and the maximum number of vertices N and is of size O(k2N log N). Decision-making involves various aspects of daily life, encompassing routine tasks, complex business strategies, and resource management. With problems often including multiple criteria, detailed analysis becomes imperative to ensure a reliable assessment. Consequently, diverse tools have emerged to aid decision-makers in making well-informed choices, with Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methods standing out for structured evaluations and adaptable processes. MCDA methods accommodate both crisp and fuzzy data, handling uncertainties inherent in decision problems. However, the abundance of methods poses a challenge in selecting the most suitable approach. Comparative analyses underscore the variability in outcomes, emphasizing the importance of employing multiple techniques for robust decision-making. Within resource management, MCDA methods offer versatile solutions, integrating expert knowledge and fuzzy logic to enhance reliability. As technological advancements introduce novel tools, empirical validation becomes crucial. Fuzzy ranking emerges as a promising approach, offering comprehensive insights into decision stability and robustness. This study applies selected MCDA methods within an Intuitionistic Fuzzy (IF) environment to personnel selection, analyzing multiple criteria with the participation of decision-makers. Through Monte Carlo simulation and fuzzy ranking, the study validates the efficacy of fuzzy ranking in practical multi-criteria decision-making scenarios, offering insights into decision robustness and stability. The proposed research provides a comprehensive approach to personnel selection, producing reliable and robust recommendations under changing input conditions. © 2024 The Authors.

Aspect-Sentiment Triplet Extraction (ASTE) is one of the most challenging and complex tasks in sentiment analysis. It concerns the construction of triplets that contain an aspect, its associated sentiment polarity, and an opinion phrase that serves as a rationale for the assigned polarity. Despite the growing popularity of the task and the many machine learning methods being proposed to address it, the number of datasets for ASTE is very limited. In particular, no dataset is available for any of the Slavic languages. In this paper, we present two new datasets for ASTE containing customer opinions about hotels and purchased products expressed in Polish. We also perform experiments with two ASTE techniques combined with two large language models for Polish to investigate their performance and the difficulty of the assembled datasets. The new datasets are available under a permissive licence and have the same file format as the English datasets, facilitating their use in future research. © 2025, CC BY.

CURVES IN THE FOURIER ZEROS OF POLYTOPAL REGIONS AND THE POMPEIU PROBLEM

We prove that any finite union P of interior-disjoint polytopes in Rd has the Pompeiu property, a result first proved by Williams [Wil76]. This means that if a continuous function f on Rd integrates to 0 on any congruent copy of P then f is identically 0. By a fundamental result of Brown, Schreiber and Taylor [BST73] this is equivalent to showing that the Fourier–Laplace transform of the indicator function of P does not vanish identically on any 0-centered complex sphere in Cd. Our proof initially follows the recent one of Machado and Robins [MR23] who are using the Brion–Barvinok formula for the Fourier–Laplace transform of a polytope. But we simplify this method considerably by removing the use of properties of Bessel function zeros. Instead we use some elementary arguments on the growth of linear combinations of exponentials with rational functions as coefficients. Our approach allows us to prove the non-existence of complex spheres of any center in the zero-set of the Fourier–Laplace transform. The planar case is even simpler in that we do not even need the Brion–Barvinok formula. We then go further in the question of which sets can be contained in the null set of the Fourier–Laplace transform of a polytope by extending results of Engel [Eng23] who showed that rationally parametrized hypersurfaces, under some mild conditions, cannot be contained in this null-set. We show that a rationally parametrized curve which is not contained in an affine hyperplane in Cd cannot be contained in this null-set. We study fibrations by elliptic curves and K3 surfaces of double octic Calabi-Yau threefolds determined by singular lines and points of multiplicity at least 4 of the defining octic arrangement. As a consequence we conclude that every double octic admits many elliptic and K3 fibrations. We apply descriptions of some K3 fibrations to construct a birational map between elements of two families of double octics. © 2025, CC BY.
