Analysis of import substitution processes is one of the urgent problems for many countries in the context of deglobalization of the world economy. Mathematical methods of convex analysis make it possible to construct a model of input-output balance with non-linear production functions. It can be identified from the official statistics of input-output tables. This model allows us to describe the substitution of production factors. The elasticity of substitution can be estimated using the solution of the Yang dual problem. With the help of the developed model for industries with a significant share of imports, the possibility of replacing imported production factors with domestic ones is studied on the example of the Russian economy. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This work presents a numerical investigation of acoustic cavitation in Newtonian fluid based on frequency ultrasound. The model of ultrasonic cavitation dynamics is formulated by a modified Rayleigh-Plesset equation and an acoustic pressure equation. The exponential B-Spline collection method was employed to obtain the numerical solutions of the given cavitation bubble model, considering the effect of acoustic pressure. The behaviour of the cavitation microbubbles' radius and the internal pressure of acoustic cavitation were examined at different values of frequencies. The obtained results reveal the importance of frequencies in ultrasound, which play a vital role in changing the behaviour of cavitation bubbles. © 2023 IEEE.

Traditional control methods may struggle to adapt to the nonlinear and uncertain characteristics in Autonomous Vehicle Control. In recent years, fuzzy control techniques, such as the Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy controller, have emerged as promising approaches for handling such complexities. Fuzzy controllers utilize linguistic variables and fuzzy logic to model system behavior, offering flexibility and robustness in dealing with uncertainties. Furthermore, Lyapunov function analysis provides a powerful tool for assessing the stability of dynamical systems. By employing Lyapunov functions, researchers can mathematically prove the stability of a system and derive stability criteria, contributing to a deeper understanding of system behavior. This paper investigates the enhancement of stability in control systems by employing Fuzzy Gain Scheduling combined with Lyapunov function analysis. Stability is a crucial aspect of control systems, ensuring their reliable and efficient operation in various dynamic environments. Traditional control techniques often struggle to handle the nonlinear and uncertain nature of modern systems. FGS offers a flexible and adaptive approach to control by adjusting controller gains based on system operating conditions. Additionally, Lyapunov function analysis provides a rigorous mathematical framework for stability assessment, enabling the verification of system stability properties. By integrating FGS and Lyapunov function analysis, this research aims to develop a robust control strategy capable of ensuring stability across a range of operating conditions. Simulation and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in enhancing stability and performance in control systems. Specifically, the settling time was reduced by 20%, and overshoot was minimized to 5% of the steady-state value. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems need a material compatible with the imaging technique with lesser attenuation and provide accurate images without distortion. Carbon fibers are the best-suited materials for x-ray applications because of their radiolucent properties and reduced attenuation characteristics. However, carbon fiber produces images with distortion in the MRI system by absorbing electromagnetic energy because of its conductive nature. In the present study, five different fiber-reinforced radiolucent composite plates are analyzed to predict their suitability for a radio frequency coil and the effect of a primary magnetic field of 1.5 T and 3.0 T on mechanical responses. Simulation models are built to explore the impact of electromagnetic waves and birdcage coil configurations on composite material and quantify the temperature changes caused due to energy absorption. A multiphysics coupling simulation is being used to understand the effect of stacking sequence, ply orientation, and boundary conditions on the response of composite plates under an electro-magneto-mechanical environment. © The Author(s) 2022.

This study is devoted to the analysis of hand-drawn sketches made by surveyed individuals. The survey aimed to connect the given points in the coordinate system with a line to create a function graph. We distinguish two cases: the graph resembles a straight line segment (corresponding to so-called linear thinking), or it is a smooth function (corresponding to so-called nonlinear thinking). We have shown the relationship between the thinking style and the field of study.

Software defects which bring about depreciation in quality of software without alteration in the working of the software are known as 'Code smells'. The serious outcomes of these flaws motivated researchers to study code smells with the objective of optimization of the resources. We aim to conduct this study on architectural category of the code smells. This category is claimed to have the potential of critically hampering the quality of the code. The aim of the study is to investigate the efforts made by the development team in resolving the architectural issues of the software. Here, we propose a mathematical model in order to help the software managers, to optimize their resource allocation. Since architectural category of code smell is claimed by many researchers to be the most crucial one, hence implementation of this study is considered to increase the profit margins by increasing the efficiency of the software. The proposed model is driven by the real time dataset targeting the architectural category of smells. This study may benefit corporate firms which many a time struggle to optimize the resource allocation on several projects. © 2024 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

We discuss here an unsupervised method to detect spatio-temporal changes on multitemporal SAR images. We name it TR-WECS (Time-Referenced Wavelet Energies Correlation Screening). We have a series of SAR images taken over time on the same region. We establish the first image as our time reference against which changes will be studied. We employ wavelet smoothing in each image, so that detected changes are not speckle-related. We then analyze temporal changes on discontiguous blocks of various sizes through wavelet energy apportionment, and ultra-high dimensional correlation screening. We illlustrate TR-WECS on a time series of Sentinel-1 images on the border of Brazil and French Guiana. The proposal's performance is favorably compared to traditional change detection methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Code Smells are resultants of poor coding techniques adopted by programmers which not only depreciates the quality of the software but also makes it tedious to maintain. We report best Machine learning classifier for the detection of the most severe smell of the Architectural category. The architectural category needs further investigation thereby this category of smell is considered. The most severe architectural smell is analyzed to rank eight Machine Learning (ML) classifiers. Eight performance measures of the ML classifiers are used during the study. Criteria Importance Through Inter Criteria Correlation and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (CRITICTOPSIS) method is used to analyze the performance measures of the classifiers for the severe architectural smell which are then ranked. J48 classifier is reported to be the best classifier for the analysis of the Feature Concentration smell of the architectural category. © 2024 IEEE.

In the past two decades, Piecewise Linear Approximation under maximum error (max-error) bound (PLA∞) has been intensively studied for effective qualified representation and analysis of time series data. It divides a time series into fragments and then represents each fragment with a straight line to approximate the data points of that time slot. In this paper, to elevate the representation quality in the optimal PLA∞ results, we present a linear-time algorithm FindMin to construct the unique line representative of minimized maximum error (min-max error) for each fragment. Through extended experimental tests, we demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is very efficient in execution and achieves better performances than the state-of-the-art solutions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Automation of malware characterization has become increasingly important for early malware detection over the past decades. Since it is crucial to be able to perform malware detection transparently, explainable machine-learning methods may be considered particularly suitable for this application. In our previous work, we thus employed algorithms for learning description-logics concept expressions to obtain structured characterizations of malicious software. The results of our initial experiments, however, lead us to several inconsistencies in the behaviour of the studied algorithms included in DL-Learner, a widely adopted framework for concept learning. Hence, in this work, we make a couple of corrections to DL-Learner, along with a few further enhancements, and repeat the experiments to empirically assess the effects of our changes. The outcomes show that the modified algorithms can mark an improvement in terms of the predictability of their behaviour as well as evaluation metrics. © 2023 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved.
