Coercivity enhancement of nanocrystalline Ce-based magnets utilizing simplified one-step hot deformation process

Nanocrystalline Ce-based rare earth(RE)-Fe-B alloys exhibit relatively good hard magnetic properties and high performance-cost ratio,but their properties deteriorate seriously after hot deformation(HD).Here,we present a simplified one-step HD process for preparing anisotropic Ce-based Ce_(25.88)La_(2.85)Y_(4.56)Fe_(65.73)B_(0.98)(wt%)*** precursor of nanocrystalline powders is first compacted inside a copper tube,and then the powders with the tube are deformed together to achieve magnetic *** with the conventional two-step HD magnet,i.e.,hot pressing followed by HD,one-step HD significantly increased the coercivity from 1.6 to 3.0 kOe,and the maximum magnetic energy product was improved from 3.7 to 4.8 *** microstructure characterization indicates that one-step HD can not only produce a more desirable microstructure,characterized by well-aligned platelet-shaped grains with reduced aspect ratio but also greatly inhibit the formation of coarse grain(CG)*** of them have been confirmed to be beneficial to enhancing coercivity by micromagnetic *** results thus demonstrate that the simplified one-step HD process offers a promising approach to developing high-performance anisotropic Ce-based magnets.

In the process of metal processing, heat treatment is a common metal processing method, which is usually used to change the mechanical properties of metal alloys to control such as hardness, strength, toughness, ductility, and elasticity. The high-frequency heat treatment is to rapidly heat the surface of the steel with high frequency, stop the heating when it reaches the quenching temperature, and use an appropriate coolant to implement quenching. In the process of processing, it is often necessary to set processing parameters for the processed products, so as to ensure that each processed product meets the requirements. This manual setting method is not only inefficient but also needs to rely on the experience of field personnel to set parameters. Even so, the problem of artificially setting wrong parameters still occurs. Therefore, this paper applies machine learning technology to analyze the correlation between processing parameters and establishes a predictive evaluation model in combination with hyperparameter optimization, and then predicts the best processing parameters. Digital transformation anxiety: absorptive capacity, dynamic capability, and digital innovation performance

Purpose: This study proposes the novel construct of digital transformation anxiety and investigates its effect, which is mediated by absorptive capacity and dynamic capability, on digital innovation performance. Design/methodology/approach: This study conducted a questionnaire survey among Taiwanese manufacturing and service companies to verify the research framework. A total of 130 valid responses were collected and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and bootstrapping to test direct and mediation effects, respectively. Findings: Digital transformation anxiety negatively affects absorptive capacity and dynamic capability, whereas absorptive capacity and dynamic capability positively affect digital innovation performance. Dynamic capability more strongly mediates the association between digital transformation anxiety and digital innovation performance than absorptive capacity. Additionally, digital transformation anxiety does not negatively affect digital innovation performance. Finally, manufacturing companies had significantly higher levels of digital transformation anxiety than service companies. Research limitations/implications: This study proposes the novel construct of digital transformation anxiety to address a gap in the literature. Digital transformation anxiety leads companies to adopt unnecessarily conservative practices, preventing them from flexibly responding to technological advances. This insight highlights the negative effect of such anxiety on absorptive capacity and dynamic capability, extending the application of path dependency theory to companies. The findings underscore the value of enhancing dynamic capability and reallocating resources to foster digital innovation. Using mobile technology acceptance model to explore the satisfaction and continuous use of live streaming for training

During the digital era and especially the COVID-19 pandemic, live streaming emerged as a vital component of mobile learning and training. This study sought to determine whether the social presence and interactivity experienced by learners using live digital platforms could enhance their learning outcomes, satisfaction, and propensity for ongoing *** the mobile technology acceptance model as its research framework, this study integrated interactivity and social presence as external variables. The aim was to uncover how these variables impact user satisfaction and continued use, while also exploring the mediating role of learning effectiveness in driving continued use. A live streaming system designed for mobile training was tested among 67 employees in a pilot study. The results demonstrated that:(1)Ease of use positively impacted perceptions of mobile usefulness.(2)Mobile usefulness, interactivity, and social presence had a positive effect on satisfaction, yet ease of use didn't significantly influence satisfaction.(3)Interactivity enhanced social presence.(4)Satisfaction was a key driver of continued use, with learning effectiveness acting as a partial mediator between them. The findings from this research can guide businesses looking to utilize live streaming for training purposes and serve as a reference for academic research in similar areas. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Press hardening with manganese-boron steels is a prominent manufacturing technique that allows for reduced weight and expense in automotive construction, while providing enhanced crash performance. Nevertheless, the development of a loosely attached oxide layer during press hardening and following additional processing of the layer presents a significant risk to the dimensional precision of the completed product. Here, we develop a new preprocessing approach to address the scale spallation issue by introducing trace amounts of silicate and tungstate into the rinsing solution following pickling. We demonstrate that the pre-deposited membrane promotes the formation of a noticeably thinner, more continuous and stickier oxide scale at high temperatures, enabling the direct application of automobile painting onto the scale. Our research provides an economical remedy to the troublesome scale flaking issue without requiring any modifications to the existing production line, and conveys a thorough comprehension of the mechanism by which the preprocessed membrane resists high-temperature oxidation. © The Chinese Society for Metals (CSM) and Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Continuous and long-term use of traditional and new pesticides can result in cross-resistance among pest populations in different *** on the mechanism of cross-resistance and related genes will help resistance management and field pest *** this study,the pesticide-resistance mechanism in Spodoptera frugiperda(FAW)was studied with field populations in 3 locations of South *** FAW populations were highly resistant to traditional insecticides,chlorpyrifos(organophosphate)and deltamethrin(pyrethroid),and had higher levels of cytochrome P450 activity than a non-resistant laboratory *** of P450 activity by piperonyl butoxide significantly increased the sensitivity of resistant FAW in 3 locations to chlorpyrifos,deltamethrin and chlorantraniliprole(amide),a new type of insecticide,suggesting that P450 detoxification is a critical factor for insecticide resistance in field FAW *** analysis indicated that 18 P450 genes were upregulated in the field FAW populations collected in 3 regions and in 2 consecutive years,with CYP321A8,the most significantly upregulated *** of CYP321A8 messenger RNA by RNA interference resulted in an increased sensitivity to the 3 tested insecticides in the field *** activity and molecular docking analyses indicated that CYP321A8 enzyme was able to metabolize the 3 tested insecticides and interact with 8 other types of insecticides,confirming that CYP321A8 is a key cross-resistance gene with a wide range of substrates in the field FAW populations across the different regions and can be used as a biomarker and target for management of FAW insecticide resistance in fields.

Pollution and carbon reduction effects of the pilot policy on clean winter heating in Northern China:Evidence from the county level

Coal dependence and inefficient decentralized heating have significantly increased China’s energy consumption for winter heating,increasing air pollution and exacerbating the greenhouse *** 2017,China implemented the Pilot Policy on Clean Winter Heating in Northern China,aiming to achieve high central heating coverage and cleaner energy *** the effects of this policy can help promote its implementation and serve as a reference for effective adjustment of the contents in the ***,few studies have investigated this policy and its carbon reduction effects,and most focus on the provincial or city ***,this paper considers the policy’s influence on air pollution and carbon emissions at the county level to provide a precise and comprehensive assessment of the policy *** use panel data from 1290 counties in 15 provinces in Northern China from 2014 to 2021,applying a multiperiod difference-in-differences model to quantify the impact of the policy on carbon emissions and air quality in the pilot *** then conduct a series of tests to demonstrate the robustness of the results and analyze the mechanisms of the policy effects from two perspectives,namely,central heating and natural gas use,through a mediating effect ***,we examine the heterogeneity of policy effects between counties based on geographic location and per capita income levels of rural residents through a moderating effect *** results reveal that the policy significantly reduces air pollution and carbon emissions in the pilot area by increasing the central heating area and natural gas *** with the central and western regions in the north and areas with low-income rural residents,the policy effects in the eastern regions in the north and areas with high-income rural residents are more pronounced.

The acid leaching residue(ALR)of ionic rare earth(IRE)concentrates containing radioactive elements such as thorium(Th)is classified as low-level radioactive *** holds valuable strategic resources such as rare earth and Th,while improper long-term heaping storage of ALR poses a substantial environmental *** paper proposes a comprehensive process involving low-temperature roasting,hydrochloric acid leaching,single extractant enrichment,and stepwise stripping to recover rare earth elements and thorium from *** achieved leaching efficiencies are 80.11%of LnY,99.43%of Sc(Ⅲ),and 98.67%of Th(Ⅳ)after the carbonization of the organic phase in the ALR through low-temperature *** large amounts of acid and impurities present in the leachate,2-ethylhexyl phosphonic acid mono 2-ethylhexyl ester(HEHEHP)still exhibits nearly 100%extraction efficiency for Sc(Ⅲ)and Th(Ⅳ).The effective separation of LnY,Th(Ⅳ),and Sc(Ⅲ)was achieved by implementing fractional extraction enrichment of Th(Ⅳ)and Sc(Ⅲ),followed by Th(Ⅳ)removal through H_(2)SO_(4)and Sc(Ⅲ)removal via NaOH from the loaded organic *** scheme successfully achieves a recovery of RE and Th and offers a viable solution for the safe disposal of ALR.
