Nonlinearity in Large-Cycle Cellular Automata

The class of maximal-length cellular automata (CAs) has gained significant attention over the last few years due to the fact that it can generate cycles with the longest possible lengths. For every l of the form l = 2n-1 where n ∈ , a cycle of length l can be generated by a cellular automaton (CA) of size ⌊log2 l⌋ + 1;this maximal-length CA is in fact the optimal (minimum-sized) CA to generate a cycle of length l. However, maximal-length CAs are, in general, linear and have some drawbacks. Moreover, it is nontrivial to address this problem for any l ∈ , that is, removing the constraint that l is of the form 2n-1. In this paper we therefore employ nonlinearity in the rules and aim to generate the near-optimal CA for any given cycle length l, meaning that the generated CAs will be of size n = (⌊log2 l⌋ + 1) + d, where the displacement d is as small as possible. We use a generic operator to concatenate a collection of component CAs of sizes n1, n2, …, nk by employing an evolutionary strategy. Here, n = n1 + n2 + ⋯ + nk and l ≥ lcm(1, 2, …, k ), where i (1 ≤ i ≤ k) is the maximum cycle length of a CA of size ni . An influencing factor in the design of component CAs is to achieve the near-optimal CA for a given cycle length. Here we consider nonlinear reversible large-cycle CAs as component CAs. BERT-based keyword extraction model for the Turkish language

Keyword extraction is crucial in natural language processing (NLP) tasks, aiding in information retrieval, document summarization, and content categorization. While many studies have discussed keyword extraction for different languages, the Turkish language presents unique challenges due to its rich morphology, complex syntax, and agglutinative nature. This paper proposes a keyword extraction model for Turkish based on the deep learning model of bidirectional encoder representation transformers (BERT) and NLP. The proposed model has been trained using a novel Turkish dataset specifically collected for this task. The dataset was fetched from over 128,000 theses published in the National Thesis Center of Türkiye. 90% of the dataset used for training the model, and 10% of the dataset used for testing. Our experimental results indicate that the proposed model outperforms similar existing methods highlighting a significant advancement in Turkish text keyword extraction. The performance of the proposed model achieved values of 97.77% F1-score, 97.84% precision, and 97.71% recall. © The Author(s) 2025.

The Sultanate of Oman has been dealing with a severe renewable energy issue for the past few decades,and the government has struggled to find a *** addition,Oman’s strategy for converting power generation to sources of renewable energy includes a goal of 60 percent of national energy demands being met by renewables by 2040,including solar and wind ***,the use of small-scale energy from wind devices has been on the rise in recent *** upward trend is attributed to advancements in wind turbine technology,which have lowered the cost of energy from *** calculate the internal and external factors that affect the small-scale energy of wind technologies,the study used a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process technique for order of preference by similarity to an ideal *** a result,in the decision model,four criteria,seventeen sub-criteria,and three resources of renewable energy were calculated as options from the viewpoint of the Sultanate of *** research is based on an examination of statistics on energy produced by wind turbines at various locations in the Sultanate of ***,six distinct miniature wind turbines were investigated for four different *** outcomes of this study indicate that the tiny wind turbine has a lot of potential in the Sultanate of Oman for applications such as homes,schools,college campuses,irrigation,greenhouses,communities,and small *** government should also use renewable energy resources to help with the renewable energy issue and make sure that the country has enough renewable energy for its long-term growth.

In the realm of education, the pursuit of effective learning outcomes often faces the challenge of limited resources. This paper explores the intersection of maximizing learning outcomes and minimizing costs through a cost-effective approach to mobile learning (m-learning). Recognizing the ubiquitous presence of mobile devices and their potential to revolutionize learning, this study explores strategies that leverage the capabilities of mobile technology while being mindful of budgetary constraints. By leveraging the flexibility and accessibil- ity offered by m-learning platforms, educators can design engaging and interactive learning experiences that cater to diverse learners needs. The paper investigates various cost-effective methodologies, including utilizing open-source software, repurposing existing resources, and adopting collaborative learning environments. Furthermore, it examines the role of scalable technologies and adaptive learning algorithms in optimizing resource allocation and per- sonalizing learning experiences. Through case studies and empirical analysis, this research illustrates how institutions and educators can achieve significant cost savings without com- promising the quality of educational delivery. Ultimately, the findings highlight the transfor- mative potential of a cost-effective approach to m-learning in enhancing learning outcomes and widening access to education. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

Optimizing therapy and rehabilitation for Parkinson's disease (PD) requires early identification and precise evaluation of the illness's course. However, there is disagreement about the best way to use gait analysis to categorize the severity of motor symptoms and identify early-stage Parkinson's disease. The precision of machine learning (ML) models in identifying early and intermediate stages of Parkinson's disease was assessed in this study. Six ML models are used in this study for the prediction of PD. Different metrics are used to evaluate ML models such as accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and AUC score. Then we propose a multi-criteria decision-making methodology (MCDM) to evaluate the ML models and select the best one. Two MCDM methods are used such as CRITIC method to compute the criteria weights and the TOPSIS method to rank the alternatives. These methods are used under the bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNSs) to deal with uncertainty information. The results show the support vector machine is the best ML model for the prediction of PD. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

In this work, a novel methodological approach to multi-attribute decision-making problems is developed and the notion of Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures (HNSDM) is introduced. By averaging the Penta-Partitioned Neutrosophic Distance Measures under particular conditional criteria, the suggested technique ranks the options. Additionally, we explore the fundamental characteristics of HNSDM and provide several illustrative theorems. The Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures are formulated based on the Hepta Neutrosophic Set. Lastly, a practical numerical example is provided to illustrate the efficacy of the suggested methodology. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustainability of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the WSNs are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of WSNs is being extended often using clustering and routing *** Meta Inspired Hawks Fragment Optimization(MIHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base station,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimization(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base Station(BS).They examine the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the BS *** overall experimentation is carried out under the MATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ratio,and average energy consumption.

Brain signal analysis from electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings is the gold standard for diagnosing various neural disorders especially epileptic *** signals are highly chaotic compared to normal brain signals and thus can be identified from EEG *** the current seizure detection and classification landscape,most models primarily focus on binary classification—distinguishing between seizure and non-seizure *** effective for basic detection,these models fail to address the nuanced stages of seizures and the intervals between *** identification of per-seizure or interictal stages and the timing between seizures is crucial for an effective seizure alert *** granularity is essential for improving patient-specific interventions and developing proactive seizure management *** study addresses this gap by proposing a novel AI-based approach for seizure stage classification using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network(DCNN).The developed model goes beyond traditional binary classification by categorizing EEG recordings into three distinct classes,thus providing a more detailed analysis of seizure *** enhance the model’s performance,we have optimized the DCNN using two advanced techniques:the Stochastic Gradient Algorithm(SGA)and the evolutionary Genetic Algorithm(GA).These optimization strategies are designed to fine-tune the model’s accuracy and ***,k-fold cross-validation ensures the model’s reliability and generalizability across different data *** and validated on the Bonn EEG data sets,the proposed optimized DCNN model achieved a test accuracy of 93.2%,demonstrating its ability to accurately classify EEG *** summary,the key advancement of the present research lies in addressing the limitations of existing models by providing a more detailed seizure classification system,thus potentially enhancing the effectiveness of real-time seizure prediction and management systems in clinic

Towards end-to-end structure determination from x-ray diffraction data using deep learning

Powder crystallography is the experimental science of determining the structure of molecules provided in crystalline-powder form,by analyzing their x-ray diffraction(XRD)*** many materials are readily available as crystalline powder,powder crystallography is of growing usefulness to many ***,powder crystallography does not have an analytically known solution,and therefore the structural inference typically involves a laborious process of iterative design,structural refinement,and domain knowledge of skilled experts.A key obstacle to fully automating the inference process computationally has been formulating the problem in an end-to-end quantitative form that is suitable for machine learning,while capturing the ambiguities around molecule orientation,symmetries,and reconstruction *** we present an ML approach for structure determination from powder diffraction *** works by estimating the electron density in a unit cell using a variational coordinate-based deep neural *** demonstrate the approach on computed powder x-ray diffraction(PXRD),along with partial chemical composition information,as *** evaluated on theoretically simulated data for the cubic and trigonal crystal systems,the system achieves up to 93.4%average similarity(as measured by structural similarity index)with the ground truth on unseen materials,both with known and partially-known chemical composition information,showing great promise for successful structure solution even from degraded and incomplete input *** approach does not presuppose a crystalline structure and the approach are readily extended to other situations such as nanomaterials and textured samples,paving the way to reconstruction of yet unresolved nanostructures.
