Categorizing methods for integrating machine learning with executable specifications

Deep learning(DL),which includes deep reinforcement learning(DRL),holds great promise for carrying out real-world tasks that human minds seem to cope with quite *** promise is already delivering extremely impressive results in a variety of ***,while DL-enabled systems achieve excellent performance,they are far from *** has been demonstrated,in several domains,that DL systems can err when they encounter cases they had not hitherto ***,the opacity of the produced agents makes it difficult to explain their behavior and ensure that they adhere to various requirements posed by human *** the other end of the software development spectrum of methods,behavioral programming(BP) facilitates orderly system development using self-standing executable modules aligned with how humans intuitively describe desired system *** this paper,we elaborate on different approaches for combining DRL with BP and,more generally,machine learning(ML) with executable specifications(ES).We begin by defining a framework for studying the various approaches,which can also be used to study new emerging approaches not covered *** then briefly review state-of-the-art approaches to integrating ML with ES,continue with a focus on DRL,and then present the merits of integrating ML with *** conclude with guidelines on how this categorization can be used in decision making in system development,and outline future research challenges.

Foundation models(FMs) [1] have revolutionized software development and become the core components of large software systems. This paradigm shift, however, demands fundamental re-imagining of software engineering theories and methodologies [2]. instead of replacing existing software modules implemented by symbolic logic, incorporating FMs' capabilities to build software systems requires entirely new modules that leverage the unique capabilities of ***, while FMs excel at handling uncertainty, recognizing patterns, and processing unstructured data, we need new engineering theories that support the paradigm shift from explicitly programming and maintaining user-defined symbolic logic to creating rich, expressive requirements that FMs can accurately perceive and implement.

image Guidance Encoder-Decoder Model in image Captioning and its Application

This paper introduces a new network model - the image Guidance Encoder-Decoder Model (iG-ED), designed to enhance the efficiency of image captioning and improve predictive accuracy. iG-ED, a fusion of the convolutional network VGGNet-16 and the long short-term memory network (LSTM), is designed based on the encoder-decoder structure. The image captioning performance sees significant enhancements when leveraging the iG-ED network model. The network training process unfolds in a series of steps. initially, the input image undergoes convolution via the VGGNet-16 network, producing a 512-dimensional vector. Concurrently, each word in the image's caption is encoded to generate a corresponding 512-dimensional vector consistent with the image feature dimension. These two vectors form the input for the decoding process. Subsequently, the vectors are fed into the redesigned fusion LSTM (F-LSTM) network at different time steps to gradually train the parameters of the iG-ED framework. The training process is completed by utilizing a loss function for determining convergence. Evaluation of the iG-ED model's performance is conducted using CiDEr and seven other evaluation metrics on the MSCOCO 2014 dataset. The results exhibit substantial improvements over the "Adaptive Attention Mode" network and "Neural Talk" network. Additionally, the parameter count of the iG-ED architecture is significantly reduced compared to the "Adaptive Attention Mode" network, leading to decreased computational resource requirements and enabling edge computing on the neural network. © (2024), (international Association of Engineers). Heterologous image Matching Based on Salience Region

To address the matching problem caused by the significant differences in spatial features, spectrum and contrast between heterologous images, a heterologous image matching method based on salience region is proposed in this paper. Firstly, texture features and corner features are detected. Secondly, the epanechnikov kernel function is used to calculate the point with the maximum kernel function value among all feature points, which is then defined as E-point. Thirdly, the salience region is defined and extracted according to the position of the E-point. Finally, six groups of heterologous images are used as data sources, and compared with HAPCG, HOWP, SiFT, and PSO_SiFT algorithms respectively. The results show that the comprehensive matching performance of the proposed method is better than the original algorithm without salience region processing. The root mean square error and the matching time are less than the original method while ensuring a similar number of matching points, which greatly improves the accuracy and speed of heterologous image matching. © (2025.0), (international Association of Engineers). A Neural Network Slab Quality Prediction Analysis Based on a Hybrid intelligent Optimisation Algorithm

To address the problem of inaccurate prediction of slab quality in continuous casting, an algorithm based on particle swarm optimisation and differential evolution is proposed. The algorithm combines BP neural network prediction method. Firstly, the factors affecting the quality of the slab are analysed and a sufficient number of sample sets are extracted for training;Secondly, the particle swarm optimisation algorithm is optimised, and then the BP neural network is optimised and the chaos mechanism is introduced to increase the continuity of motion of the particles. The population is partitioned hierarchically, and different types of particles are processed separately to improve the global search capability of the algorithm. The differential evolution algorithm is also integrated to optimise cross-selection and increase particle diversity. Finally, a prediction model is built to predict and analyse the sample data. in the experiment, three algorithms are tested for different benchmark functions, namely the comparison of convergence, stability and searchability. The optimisation time comparison is completed, the target curve fit test is performed and the slab quality test results are checked. The experimental results show that the PSO-EiDE algorithm has strong optimisation ability, fast convergence speed and obvious improvement in stability and accuracy. © (2025), (international Association of Engineers). Domination based graph neural networks

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have emerged as a widely used and effective method across various domains for learning from graph data. Despite the abundance of GNN variants, many struggle with effectively propagating messages over long distances. This paper introduces a novel hierarchical message passing framework for graph learning, specifically designed to address the challenge of long-distance message propagation in graphs. By constructing smaller graphs from the main graph using the concept of domination, a fundamental principle in graph theory, we facilitate more efficient message passing within each subgraph. Subsequently, we employ a Graph Attention Network (GAT) to aggregate these features and propagate them to distant nodes across the graph. Experimental results on standard node classification datasets validate that the proposed architecture achieves performance comparable to or better than conventional GNNs. Additionally, our model consistently performs better on graphs with missing edges. © 2024 informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The seamless integration of intelligent internet of Things devices with conventional wireless sensor networks has revolutionized data communication for different applications,such as remote health monitoring,industrial monitoring,transportation,and smart *** and reliable data routing is one of the major challenges in the internet of Things network due to the heterogeneity of *** paper presents a traffic-aware,cluster-based,and energy-efficient routing protocol that employs traffic-aware and cluster-based techniques to improve the data delivery in such *** proposed protocol divides the network into clusters where optimal cluster heads are selected among super and normal nodes based on their residual *** protocol considers multi-criteria attributes,i.e.,energy,traffic load,and distance parameters to select the next hop for data delivery towards the base *** performance of the proposed protocol is evaluated through the network simulator *** different traffic rates,number of nodes,and different packet sizes,the proposed protocol outperformed LoRaWAN in terms of end-to-end packet delivery ratio,energy consumption,end-to-end delay,and network *** 100 nodes,the proposed protocol achieved a 13%improvement in packet delivery ratio,10 ms improvement in delay,and 10 mJ improvement in average energy consumption over LoRaWAN.

Multi-agent policy transfer via task relationship modeling

Team adaptation to new cooperative tasks is a hallmark of human intelligence, which has yet to be fully realized in learning agents. Previous studies on multi-agent transfer learning have accommodated teams of different sizes but heavily relied on the generalization ability of neural networks for adapting to unseen tasks. We posit that the relationship among tasks provides key information for policy *** utilize this relationship for efficient transfer by attempting to discover and exploit the knowledge among tasks from different teams, proposing to learn an effect-based task representation as a common latent space among tasks, and using it to build an alternatively fixed training scheme. Herein, we demonstrate that task representation can capture the relationship among teams and generalize to unseen tasks. Thus, the proposed method helps transfer the learned cooperation knowledge to new tasks after training on a few source ***, the learned transferred policies help solve tasks that are difficult to learn from scratch.

YOLOCSP-PEST for Crops Pest Localization and Classification

Preservation of the crops depends on early and accurate detection of pests on crops as they cause several diseases decreasing crop production and quality. Several deep-learning techniques have been applied to overcome the issue of pest detection on crops. We have developed the YOLOCSP-PEST model for Pest localization and classification. With the Cross Stage Partial Network (CSPNET) backbone, the proposed model is a modified version of You Only Look Once Version 7 (YOLOv7) that is intended primarily for pest localization and classification. Our proposed model gives exceptionally good results under conditions that are very challenging for any other comparable models especially conditions where we have issues with the luminance and the orientation of the images. it helps farmers working out on their crops in distant areas to determine any infestation quickly and accurately on their crops which helps in the quality and quantity of the production yield. The model has been trained and tested on 2 datasets namely the iP102 data set and a local crop data set on both of which it has shown exceptional results. it gave us a mean average precision (mAP) of 88.40% along with a precision of 85.55% and a recall of 84.25% on the iP102 dataset meanwhile giving a mAP of 97.18% on the local data set along with a recall of 94.88% and a precision of 97.50%. These findings demonstrate that the proposed model is very effective in detecting real-life scenarios and can help in the production of crops improving the yield quality and quantity at the same time.

in the contemporary era,driverless vehicles are a reality due to the proliferation of distributed technologies,sensing technologies,and Machine to Machine(M2M)***,the emergence of deep learning techniques provides more scope in controlling and making such vehicles energy *** existing methods,it is understood that there have been many approaches found to automate safe driving in autonomous and electric vehicles and also their energy ***,the models focus on different aspects *** is need for a comprehensive framework that exploits multiple deep learning models in order to have better control using Artificial intelligence(Ai)on autonomous driving and energy *** this end,we propose an Ai-based framework for autonomous electric vehicles with multi-model learning and decision *** focuses on both safe driving in highway scenarios and energy *** deep learning based framework is realized with many models used for localization,path planning at high level,path planning at low level,reinforcement learning,transfer learning,power control,and speed *** reinforcement learning,state-action-feedback play important role in decision *** simulation implementation reveals that the efficiency of the Ai-based approach towards safe driving of autonomous electric vehicle gives better performance than that of the normal electric vehicles.
