Skin diseases have become one of the most common ailments, particularly in rural areas. Misdiagnosis, however, can lead to an even worse quality of life and inefficient treatments. Furthermore, countries with archipelagos, like Indonesia, are particularly impacted by an imbalance in the distribution of dermatological care. Here, general practitioners with less experience in the field typically provide most dermatological care in this area. Thus, misdiagnosis is virtually inevitable and leads to problems for the patient, even impacting the doctor's and dermatology organization's reputation. To solve this problem, it has recently been shown that general practitioners can identify skin disorders using artificial intelligence (AI). Unfortunately, not all AI implemented has considered dermatologists' knowledge in their systems, and specifically, most Indonesian dermatologists are not familiar with this AI thing. Thus, this work was purposed to help them predict skin disease classification through CNN-based Deep Learning Architecture methodologies for autonomous skin disease identification using mobile photos and dermoscopy. Here, the Fitzpatrick 17k and ISIC 2018 datasets with several deep learning methods, including ensemble techniques were used. The results showed that for mobile-based skin disease photos, the deep learning architecture offers a notable improvement over the handcrafted-based approach. The accuracy using an ensemble for the Fitzpatrick dataset was 55% and ISIC was higher, 80%. Although not all methods are improving slowly, further employment and refinement of ensemble techniques promise to automate further medical diagnostics which can enhance patient outcomes in dermatology. Finally, additional images will increase accuracy; specifically with the more intricate the photographs and sizes. Thus, this preliminary research showed the importance of the deep learning method in identifying skin disease classification.

A broad class of optimization problems can be cast in composite form, that is, considering the minimization of the composition of a lower semicontinuous function with a differentiable mapping. This paper investigates the versatile template of composite optimization without any convexity assumptions. First- and second-order optimality conditions are discussed. We highlight the difficulties that stem from the lack of convexity when dealing with necessary conditions in a Lagrangian framework and when considering error bounds. The Internet plays a crucial role in our daily routines. Ensuring cybersecurity to Internet users will provide a safe online environment. Automatic network intrusion detection (NID) using machine learning algorithms has recently received increased attention recently. The NID model is prone to bias towards the classes with more training samples due to highly imbalanced datasets across different types of attacks. The challenge in generating additional training data for minority classes is the generation of insufficient data. The study's purpose is to address this challenge, which extends the data generation ability by proposing a three-stage data generation algorithm using the synthetic minority over-sampling technique, a generative adversarial network (GAN), and a variational autoencoder. A convolutional neural network is employed to extract the representative features from the data, which were fed into a support vector machine with a customised kernel function. An ablation study evaluated the effectiveness of the three-stage data generation, feature extraction, and customised kernel. This was followed by a performance comparison between our study and existing studies. The findings revealed that the proposed NID model achieved an accuracy of 91.9%–96.2% in the four benchmark datasets. In addition, it outperformed existing methods such as GAN-based deep neural networks, conditional Wasserstein GAN-based stacked autoencoder, synthesised minority oversampling technique-based random forest, and variational autoencoder-based deep neural network, by 1.51%–28.4%. © 2023 The Authors

Increasing global energy consumption has become an urgent problem as natural energy sources such as oil,gas,and uranium are rapidly running *** into renewable energy sources such as solar energy is being pursued to counter *** energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources,as it has the potential to meet the world’s energy needs *** study aims to develop and evaluate artificial intelligence(AI)models for predicting hourly global *** hyperparameters were optimized using the Broyden-FletcherGoldfarb-Shanno(BFGS)quasi-Newton training algorithm and STATISTICA *** from two stations in Algeria with different climatic zones were used to develop the *** error measurements were used to determine the accuracy of the prediction models,including the correlation coefficient,the mean absolute error,and the root mean square error(RMSE).The optimal support vector machine(SVM)model showed exceptional efficiency during the training phase,with a high correlation coefficient(R=0.99)and a low mean absolute error(MAE=26.5741 Wh/m^(2)),as well as an RMSE of 38.7045 Wh/m^(2) across all ***,this study highlights the importance of accurate prediction models in the renewable energy,which can contribute to better energy management and planning.

HPC-Coder: Modeling Parallel Programs using Large Language Models

Parallel programs in high performance computing (HPC) continue to grow in complexity and scale in the exascale era. The diversity in hardware and parallel programming models make developing, optimizing, and maintaining parallel software even more burdensome for developers. One way to alleviate some of these burdens is with automated development and analysis tools. Such tools can perform complex and/or remedial tasks for developers that increase their productivity and decrease the chance for error. Until recently, such tools for code development and performance analysis have been limited in the complexity of tasks they can perform, especially for parallel programs. However, with recent advancements in language modeling, and the availability of large amounts of open-source code related data, these tools have started to utilize predictive language models to automate more complex tasks. In this paper, we show how large language models (LLMs) can be applied to tasks specific to high performance and scientific codes. We introduce a new dataset of HPC and scientific codes and use it to fine-tune several pre-trained models. We compare several pre-trained LLMs on HPC-related tasks and introduce a new model, HPC-Coder, fine-tuned on parallel codes. In our experiments, we show that this model can auto-complete HPC functions where generic models cannot, decorate for loops with OpenMP pragmas, and model performance changes in scientific application repositories as well as programming competition solutions. The discovery and identification of molecules in biological and environmental samples is crucial for advancing biomedical and chemical sciences. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is the leading technique for high-throughput elucidation of molecular structures. However, decoding a molecular structure from its mass spectrum is exceptionally challenging, even when performed by human experts. As a result, the vast majority of acquired MS/MS spectra remain uninterpreted, thereby limiting our understanding of the underlying (bio)chemical processes. Despite decades of progress in machine learning applications for predicting molecular structures from MS/MS spectra, the development of new methods is severely hindered by the lack of standard datasets and evaluation protocols. To address this problem, we propose MassSpecGym - the first comprehensive benchmark for the discovery and identification of molecules from MS/MS data. Our benchmark comprises the largest publicly available collection of high-quality labeled MS/MS spectra and defines three MS/MS annotation challenges: de novo molecular structure generation, molecule retrieval, and spectrum simulation. It includes new evaluation metrics and a generalization-demanding data split, therefore standardizing the MS/MS annotation tasks and rendering the problem accessible to the broad machine learning community. Coulomb and Franklin’s electricity laws are used in this paper to model an efficient optimization algorithm based on electric particle searches, which has been named CFA. For the CFA optimizer, the influence of electrically charged particles on each other in charged things has been predicated on the forces of attraction and repulsion. Evolutionary algorithms (EA) such as hybrid real coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) which combines the global and local search (GL-25), differential evolution (DE) with strategy adaptation (SaDE), composite DE (CoDE), the improved standard particle swarm optimization 2011 (SPSO2013) and the grouped comprehensive learning PSO (GCLPSO) are compared to the CFA optimizer for finding global solutions of seven basic benchmark functions of high dimension D = 50. (GCLPSO). Experiments have shown that the suggested CFA optimizer is quite effective and competitive for the benchmark functions. The presence of uncertainty in the model parameters introduces the need to quantify the variability in the predictions. This is often done by computing a large number of model solutions on a computational grid for an ensemble of parameter values and then obtaining estimates for the statistical properties of solutions. In this study, we explore the savings that can be obtained using multilevel Monte Carlo methods, which reduce costsby performing the bulk of the computations on a sequence of spatial grids that are coarser than the one that would typically be used for a simple Monte Carlo simulation. We examine this approach using both a set of uniformly refined grids and a set of adaptively refined grids guided by a discrete error estimator. Numerical experiments show that multilevel methods dramatically reduce the cost of simulation, with cost reductionstypically on the order of 60 or more and possibly as large as 200. Relativistic Digital Twin: Bringing the IoT to the Future

Complex IoT ecosystems often require the usage of Digital Twins (DTs) of their physical assets in order to perform predictive analytics and simulate what-if scenarios. DTs are able to replicate IoT devices and adapt over time to their behavioral changes. However, DTs in IoT are typically tailored to a specific use case, without the possibility to seamlessly adapt to different scenarios. Further, the fragmentation of IoT poses additional challenges on how to deploy DTs in heterogeneous scenarios characterized by the usage of multiple data formats and IoT network protocols. In this paper, we propose the Relativistic Digital Twin (RDT) framework, through which we automatically generate general-purpose DTs of IoT entities and tune their behavioral models over time by constantly observing their real counterparts. The framework relies on the object representation via the Web of Things (WoT), to offer a standardized interface to each of the IoT devices as well as to their DTs. To this purpose, we extended the W3C WoT standard in order to encompass the concept of behavioral model and define it in the Thing Description (TD) through a new vocabulary. Finally, we evaluated the RDT framework over two disjoint use cases to assess its correctness and learning performance, i.e., the DT of a simulated smart home scenario with the capability of forecasting the indoor temperature, and the DT of a real-world drone with the capability of forecasting its trajectory in an outdoor scenario.
