Considering the coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger system with multiply components, we provide a novel framework for constructing energy-preserving algorithms. In detail, based on the high order compact finite difference method, Fourier pseudospectral method and wavelet collocation method for spatial discretizations, a series of high accurate conservative algorithms are presented. The proposed algorithms can preserve the corresponding discrete charge and energy conservation laws exactly, which would guarantee their numerical stabilities during long time computations. Furthermore, several analogous multi-symplectic algorithms are constructed as comparison. Numerical experiments for the unstable plane waves will show the advantages of the proposed algorithms over long time and verify the theoretical analysis.

The purpose of this research is the segmentation of lungs computed tomography(CT)scan for the diagnosis of COVID-19 by using machine learning *** dataset contains data from patients who are prone to the *** contains three types of lungs CT images(Normal,Pneumonia,and COVID-19)collected from two different sources;the first one is the Radiology Department of Nishtar Hospital Multan and Civil Hospital Bahawalpur,Pakistan,and the second one is a publicly free available medical imaging database known as *** the preprocessing,a novel fuzzy c-mean automated region-growing segmentation approach is deployed to take an automated region of interest(ROIs)and acquire 52 hybrid statistical features for each ***,12 optimized statistical features are selected via the chi-square feature reduction *** the classification,five machine learning classifiers named as deep learning J4,multilayer perceptron,support vector machine,random forest,and naive Bayes are deployed to optimize the hybrid statistical features *** is observed that the deep learning J4 has promising results(sensitivity and specificity:0.987;accuracy:98.67%)among all the deployed *** a complementary study,a statistical work is devoted to the use of a new statistical model to fit the main datasets of COVID-19 collected in Pakistan.

Today’s pluralistic and globalized society requires a global perspective in how we think, view ourselves, and relate to others to collaborate successfully with people with different cultural backgrounds. To support the development of a global perspective, universities cultivate international co-operations to enable international mobility for students, faculty, and staff. However, in-person mobility can be inhibited due to various reasons. To support a wider pool of students gaining international experience, modern digital mediated course formats can be used to offer virtual instead of in-person mobility. This contribution evaluates a digital mediated course for mechanical engineering students (Global Engineering, GE) held in co-operation between an US and a Portuguese university, where internationally mixed student groups working on design projects in an Hyflex setting. Asides a literature driven discussion about the need for Global Engineers and a detailed description of the GE course, a longitudinal analysis was performed to assess the impact of the GE course on the students’ development of a global perspective. The longitudinal analysis showed strong statistical support that the digitally mediated GE course improved the participating students’ global perspective, assessed with the Global Perspective Inventory (GPI), tremendously. The observed improvements were in three of the six GPI dimensions comparable to an in-person semester abroad. Limitations of the study and future investigations are discussed.

Nowadays, data has become an invaluable asset to entities and companies, and keeping it secure represents a major challenge. Data centers are responsible for storing data provided by software applications. Nevertheless, the number of vulnerabilities has been increasing every day. Managing such vulnerabilities is essential for building a reliable and secure network environment. Releasing patches to fix security flaws in software is a common practice to handle these vulnerabilities. However, prioritization becomes crucial for organizations with an increasing number of vulnerabilities since time and resources to fix them are usually limited. This review intends to present a survey of vulnerability ranking techniques and promote a discussion on how multi-objective optimization could benefit the management of vulnerabilities risk prioritization. The state-of-the-art approaches for risk prioritization were reviewed, intending to develop an effective model for ranking vulnerabilities in data centers. The main contribution of this work is to point out multi-objective optimization as a not commonly explored but promising strategy to prioritize vulnerabilities, enabling better time management and increasing security. We employ a parallel, three-dimensional level-set code to simulate the dynamics of isolated dislocation lines and loops in an obstacle-rich environment. This system serves as a convenient prototype of those in which extended, one-dimensional objects interact with obstacles and the out-of-plane motion of these objects is key to understanding their pinning-depinning behavior. In contrast to earlier models of dislocation motion, we incorporate long-ranged interactions among dislocation segments and obstacles to study the effect of climb on dislocation dynamics in the presence of misfitting penetrable obstacles/solutes, as embodied in an effective climb mobility. Our main observations are as follows. First, increasing climb mobility leads to more effective pinning by the obstacles, implying increased strengthening. Second, decreasing the range of interactions significantly reduces the effect of climb. The dependence of the critical stress on obstacle concentration and misfit strength is also explored and compared with existing models. In particular, our results are shown to be in reasonable agreement with the Friedel-Suzuki theory. Finally, the limitations inherent in the simplified model employed here, including the neglect of some lattice effects and the use of a coarse-grained climb mobility, are discussed.

Simulations and diagnostics of high-energy-density plasmas and warm dense matter rely on models of material response properties, both static and dynamic (frequency-dependent). Here, we systematically investigate variations in dynamic electron-ion collision frequencies ν(ω) in warm dense matter using data from a self-consistent-field average-atom model. We show that including the full quantum density of states, strong collisions, and inelastic collisions lead to significant changes in ν(ω). These changes result in red shifts and broadening of the plasmon peak in the dynamic structure factor, an effect observable in x-ray Thomson scattering spectra, and modify stopping powers around the Bragg peak. These changes improve the agreement of computationally efficient average-atom models with first-principles time-dependent density functional theory in warm dense aluminum, carbon, and deuterium. © 2023, CC BY.

Human movement analysis is crucial in health and sports biomechanics for understanding physical performance, guiding rehabilitation, and preventing injuries. However, existing tools are often proprietary, expensive, and function as "black boxes", limiting user control and customization. This paper introduces vailá—Versatile Anarcho Integrated Liberation Ánalysis in Multimodal Toolbox—an open-source, Python-based platform designed to enhance human movement analysis by integrating data from multiple biomechanical systems. vailá supports data from diverse sources, including retroreflective motion capture systems, inertial measurement units (IMUs), markerless video capture technology, electromyography (EMG), force plates, and GPS/GNSS systems, enabling comprehensive analysis of movement patterns. Developed entirely in Python 3.11.9, which offers improved efficiency and long-term support, and featuring a straightforward installation process, vailá is accessible to users without extensive programming experience. In this paper, we also present several workflow examples that demonstrate how vailá allows the rapid processing of large batches of data, independent of the type of collection method. This flexibility is especially valuable in research scenarios where unexpected data collection challenges arise, ensuring no valuable data point is lost. We demonstrate the application of vailá in analyzing sit-to-stand movements in pediatric disability, showcasing its capability to provide deeper insights even with unexpected movement patterns. By fostering a collaborative and open environment, vailá encourages users to innovate, customize, and freely explore their analysis needs, potentially contributing to the advancement of rehabilitation strategies and performance optimization. fifth-generation (5G) systems are designed to enable convergent access-agnostic service availability. This means that 5G services will be available over 5G New Radio air interface and also through other non-Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access networks, e.g., IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi). 3GPP has recently published the Release 16 that includes trusted non-3GPP access network concept and wireless wireline convergence. The main goal of this tutorial is to present an overview of access to 5G core via non-3GPP access networks specified by 3GPP until Release 16 (i.e., untrusted, trusted, and wireline access). The tutorial describes convergence aspects of a 5G system and these non-3GPP access networks, such as the authentication and authorization procedures and the data session establishment from the point of view of the protocol stack and exchanged messages among the network functions. In order to illustrate several concepts and part of 3GPP specification, we present a basic but fully operational implementation of untrusted non-3GPP access using WLAN. We perform experiments illustrating how a Wi-Fi user is authorized in a 5G core, establishing user plane connectivity to a data network. Moreover, we evaluate the performance of this access in terms of time consumed, the number of messages, and protocol overhead to established data sessions. © 2021, CC BY.
