A Group-Based Many-Task Collaborative Optimization Framework for Evolutionary Robots Design

In evolutionary robotics (ER), the evolution of a robot's morphology (i.e., physical structure) or controller (i.e., control algorithm or instruction sequence) often entails tackling an extensive number of tasks. The use of evolutionary multitasking (EMT) in ER, which optimizes multiple tasks simultaneously by reusing potentially useful knowledge across diverse tasks, could improve the performance of problem-solving to each task. However, existing EMT methods do not fully use intertask correlations, limiting knowledge sharing. In view of this, this study introduces a novel framework, termed adaptive group-based collaborative optimization, tailored for handling optimization problems involving a large number of tasks within the ER domain simultaneously. The proposed framework divides tasks into groups according to their similarity and then proceeds through two principal stages, namely, intergroup knowledge separation and intragroup knowledge reunion. During intergroup knowledge separation stage, an adaptive method for selecting crossover operators enables source tasks to share useful knowledge to the target task across groups. During intragroup knowledge reunion stage, an adaptive knowledge combination strategy facilitates the target task in assimilating knowledge from multiple sources intragroup. We validated the efficacy of the proposed framework in both planar manipulators and hexapod robot experiments. The results indicate that our method outperforms existing state-of-the-art algorithms (i.e., MME, MMKT) on several metrics (e.g., mean fitness and quality diversity metrics). The proposed method can effectively improve the effectiveness and diversity of solutions in solving ER problems with a large number of tasks (e.g., 5 000 or 10 000), and has broad potential in practical ER applications. © 2025 IEEE.

The growing spectrum of Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) applications in medical imaging, cyber security, data augmentation, and the field of remote sensing tasks necessitate a sharp spike in the criticality of review of Generative Adversarial Networks. Earlier reviews that targeted reviewing certain architecture of the GAN or emphasizing a specific application-oriented area have done so in a narrow spirit and lacked the systematic comparative analysis of the models’ performance metrics. Numerous reviews do not apply standardized frameworks, showing gaps in the efficiency evaluation of GANs, training stability, and suitability for specific tasks. In this work, a systemic review of GAN models using the PRISMA framework is developed in detail to fill the gap by structurally evaluating GAN architectures. A wide variety of GAN models have been discussed in this review, starting from the basic Conditional GAN, Wasserstein GAN, and Deep Convolutional GAN, and have gone down to many specialized models, such as EVAGAN, FCGAN, and SIF-GAN, for different applications across various domains like fault diagnosis, network security, medical imaging, and image segmentation. The PRISMA methodology systematically filters relevant studies by inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure transparency and replicability in the review process. Hence, all models are assessed relative to specific performance metrics such as accuracy, stability, and computational efficiency. There are multiple benefits to using the PRISMA approach in this setup. Not only does this help in finding optimal models suitable for various applications, but it also provides an explicit framework for comparing GAN performance. In addition to this, diverse types of GAN are included to ensure a comprehensive view of the state-of-the-art techniques. Fetal brain anomaly prediction is important for fetal medicine, as well as for prenatal health care. Fetal anomalies are classified into two types, anomalies in the fetus' body parts including heart, lung, and kidney anomalies in facial features. Thus, to predict the anomalies in the fetal brain, various deep-learning models are used in this paper. The LeNet, AlexNet, ResNet, VGGNet, GoogLeNet and ZFNet were used. From the results obtained, the ResNet method achieved 99% accuracy with the given 3D ultrasound images of the fetal brain compared with other models and benchmark algorithms like SVM, Logistic regression, and KNN. The results of this paper are useful to identify fetal anomalies. Hence, this approach will be useful for improving outcomes for individuals and society as much as possible. © 2024 IEEE.

Methods for class-imbalanced learning with support vector machines: a review and an empirical evaluation

This paper presents a review on methods for class-imbalanced learning with the Support Vector Machine (SVM) and its variants. We first explain the structure of SVM and its variants and discuss their inefficiency in learning with class-imbalanced data sets. We introduce a hierarchical categorization of SVM-based models with respect to class-imbalanced learning. Specifically, we categorize SVM-based models into re-sampling, algorithmic, and fusion methods, and discuss the principles of the representative models in each category. In addition, we conduct a series of empirical evaluations to compare the performances of various representative SVM-based models in each category using benchmark imbalanced data sets, ranging from low to high imbalanced ratios. Our findings reveal that while algorithmic methods are less time-consuming owing to no data pre-processing requirements, fusion methods, which combine both re-sampling and algorithmic approaches, generally perform the best, but with a higher computational load. The proposed system aims to enhance student transportation security through real-time face detection and recognition. Leveraging the MTCNN framework for accurate face detection and the FaceNet model for reliable face recognition, the system ensures only authorized students can board designated buses by comparing captured faces with a pre-registered database. In case of mismatches, alerts are triggered to notify drivers and authorities. Additionally, parallel implementation of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) classifiers improves authentication accuracy. The system's deep learning-based architecture ensures robust performance under varying environmental conditions and supports continuous learning for long-term reliability. © 2025 IEEE.

To build a Cancer prediction model based on ML, one needs data of a certain sort, such as gene expression data or microarray data. To reduce the dataset's dimensionality, feature selection is proposed as an optimal solution to high dimensionality challenges and to deal with microarray data, this research work aims to perform the 2-stage feature selection. In the initial stage, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Bare-bone PSO (BBPSO) are applied to the dataset separately. Then the common features selected by PSO and BBPSO are considered. Then Levy Flight Moth Flame Optimization (LFMFO) is applied to choose the final optimal set of features. Basic existing ML classifiers are used for the first prediction. Afterwards, the Majority Voting technique is applied to develop the ensemble technique. The proposed model is developed over four Cancer microarray datasets, including CNS, Lung Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, and Breast Cancer. The experimental analysis presents the proposed model obtains the highest accuracy of 98.81% for the Ovarian Cancer dataset. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

In the cloud environment,ensuring a high level of data security is in high *** planning storage optimization is part of the whole security process in the cloud *** enables data security by avoiding the risk of data loss and data *** development of data flow scheduling approaches in the cloud environment taking security parameters into account is *** our work,we propose a data scheduling model for the cloud *** is made up of three parts that together help dispatch user data flow to the appropriate *** first component is the Collector Agent whichmust periodically collect information on the state of the network *** second one is the monitoring agent which must then analyze,classify,and make a decision on the state of the link and finally transmit this information to the *** third one is the scheduler who must consider previous information to transfer user data,including fair distribution and reliable *** should be noted that each part of the proposedmodel requires the development of its *** this article,we are interested in the development of data transfer algorithms,including fairness distribution with the consideration of a stable link *** algorithms are based on the grouping of transmitted files and the iterative *** proposed algorithms showthe performances to obtain an approximate solution to the studied problem which is an NP-hard(Non-Polynomial solution)*** experimental results show that the best algorithm is the half-grouped minimum excluding(HME),with a percentage of 91.3%,an average deviation of 0.042,and an execution time of 0.001 s.

In today's 5G era, the amount of data generated by the Internet of Things (IoT) devices is enormous. Data is processed and stored in the cloud under a traditional cloud computing architecture, and real-time processing and retrieval of these data is time-consuming. Therefore, an edge-cloud framework comes in handy where the content generated is placed on the edge nodes of the network, and it can reach the endusers in a time-bound manner. A majority of the previous research works on content placement under the edge-cloud architecture primarily aimed at improving the latency of the system. However, the approach proposed in this paper aims to maximize the profit of the service provider by effectively placing the content in a hierarchically organized edge-cloud network. We propose two strategies and compare them with random and greedy approaches for both synthetic and real data sets. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategies, and the profit of the service providers increases by 38.81% (maximum) and 10.51% (on average) for the synthetic dataset and by 65.74% (maximum) and 22.83% (on average) for the real-world dataset when compared with the greedy approach. © 2024 IEEE.

High-Frequency Trading (HFT) has transformed financial markets by enabling rapid and automated trading. However, the prediction of critical market metrics, such as trading volumes, remains a challenge due to the noisy and complex nature of financial data. This paper presents a hybrid Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-LSTM) model designed specifically for predicting trading volumes in the NIFTY50 index using high-resolution, minutelevel Yahoo Finance data. By combining CNN's spatial feature extraction capabilities with LSTM's temporal modeling strengths, the proposed approach effectively captures the intricate patterns and sequential dependencies inherent in high-frequency trading datasets. Comprehensive data preprocessing, including noise reduction and temporal segmentation, coupled with advanced cross-validation techniques, ensures robust performance across market conditions. Comprehensive evaluations using metrics such as Mean Squared Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and Coefficient of Determination (R2) demonstrate the model's efficacy in capturing intricate financial dynamics. This work underscores the potential of hybrid deep learning models in enhancing predictive analytics for high-frequency trading applications in emerging markets. © 2025 IEEE.
