Cloud computing has been considered the most reliable and safe technology among many cloud users. Virtual machine migration is a crucial component of cloud computing technology. A Virtual machine is transferred from one host machine to another during the migration process, which is accomplished by repeatedly copying the memory pages available in the virtual disk. The time required for the movement of secondary storage, main memory, process states, and network connectivity, as well as the maintenance of their accuracy, must be considered for the efficient migration of virtual machines from one physical host to another in the cloud service provider. The most robust mechanism for system maintenance, resilience system, balancing the load of the service provider, and power-saving is the live migration of virtual machines between the nodes in the data center. So many services are running in the virtual machines during live migration;thus, it needs to take place with the least amount of downtime possible to prevent service degradation. The memory pages in the virtual storage must be copied to the other host using the least frequently used service-based pre-copy algorithm to optimize the downtime. The effectiveness of the suggested solution was evaluated in comparison to OpenNebula and OpenStack, two cloud computing platforms. The least frequently used service-based pre-copy algorithm reduces the amount of virtual machine downtime during live migration. © 2023 IEEE.

The deployment of renewable energy sources (RES) in power systems used to be a major challenge owing to their intermittent and uncertain nature. Therefore, in this paper, the use of ML models as an intelligent control system to improve the operation of RES is studied. We survey different types of ML approaches, covering supervised learning for energy predic- tion, unsupervised learning for clustering demand, reinforcement learning for energy storage management, and deep learning for real time data processing. The intent of these advanced control strategies are to balance and stabilize the grid, harmonize demand response, and augment energy storage. We highlight the use-cases and impacts of ML from real-world cases across various geographies, showing operational gains and peak-demand savings. While these technologies hold great promise, they also face challenges like data privacy, interpretability of models, and availability of high-quality datasets. Moving forward, there is a need to improve transparency of algorithms and to strengthen the collaboration of different stakeholders. Our work paves the way for a systematic and automated approach to renewable energy integration, which can serve as a critical factor to build a reliable and efficient future modern power systems with machine learning. © 2025 IEEE.

ACOVMD: Automatic COVID-19 misinformation detection in Twitter using self-trained semi-supervised hybrid deep learning model

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online social networks are extensively utilized, more than ever before by 8.4%, resulting in the propagation of false information related to COVID-19. Despite the existence of many fake news detection models;annotation inconsistency, memory consumption, accurate and self-trained efficient algorithms for detecting the emerging COVID-19 misinformation tweets are still challenging. Hence, the main aim of this work is to come up with a self-trained semi-supervised model that accurately and automatically detects the reliability of emerging COVID-19 tweets without delay. In this work, COVID-19 tweet dataset is created in English Language from the period January 2020 to January 2022 as a ground truth database. Then self-trained semi-supervised hybrid deep learning model is proposed to train both supervised and unsupervised components simultaneously using the created dataset. The proposed model is self-trained repeatedly and the model gets updated to predict the reliability of upcoming COVID-19 tweets that differ from training tweets. We performed experiments multiple times by limiting the percentage amount of labelled tweets shown to the model, namely 80%, 50%, 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% labelled tweets, respectively. Experimental results show that the proposed model achieves 80.92% accuracy and 98.15% accuracy in the 10% and 80% label-seen experiments, respectively. This shows a clear rising trend in the performance curve. Therefore, this technique will be useful for effectively classifying voluminous amounts of emerging tweets generated as part of the COVID-19 infodemic. The proposed model may efficiently use a huge amount of unlabelled tweets and enhance the model's generalization performance. © 2023 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Sustainable energy management in the AI era: a comprehensive analysis of ML and DL approaches

This study comprehensively analyzes the application of innovative deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML) techniques in smart energy management systems (EMSs), with an emphasis on load forecasting, demand response, and the development of smart energy sectors. The application of various ML and DL models were examined in over 200 studies from 2014 to 2024 in an electrical network's EMS to highlight the key benefits and advances made by each technology for the sustainable management systems in energy sector. The findings emphasize DL and ML models’ enhanced precision and predictive capabilities in load forecasting, their efficacy in enabling efficient demand response mechanisms, and their significance in supporting the development of smart energy sectors. Furthermore, recommendations are made based on the survey results to assist in incorporating these techniques into EMS frameworks, such as investment in data infrastructure, model training and validation, and collaboration between researchers, industry experts, and policymakers. The study also discusses the limitations identified in the literature, such as limited real-world implementations, challenges regarding quality and data availability, and the need for enhanced ML and DL model interpretability. Addressing these limitations can assist in increasing the application and efficacy of ML and DL techniques in EMSs, enabling a more efficient and sustainable energy landscape. Finally, this study facilitates researchers' exploration of ML and DL in energy management, highlighting relevant limitations, strengths, and alternative approaches associated with sustainable energy management. It also indicates potential future research directions for further investigation. © The Author(s) 2025.

This study presents a deep learning architecture designed to monitor a woman's menstrual cycle and provide personalized dietary suggestions to improve health. The system employs complex models, including CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, T-GNNs, VAEs, and GANs, to predict the intensity of symptoms, determine the phases of the menstrual cycle, and offer personalized nutritional advice. By analysing data from menstrual diaries, food consumption, and symptom tracking, the method establishes a strong association between hormonal fluctuations, symptoms, and nutritional needs. Model accuracy is enhanced through data preprocessing techniques, including imputation, normalization, and augmentation, which provide high-quality training inputs. research shows that Transformer models outperform other approaches in phase recognition (96% accuracy) and phase-aware nutritional recommendation accuracy. This research highlights how deep learning can transform women's healthcare by providing personalized nutritional recommendations based on data that align with the phases of a woman's menstrual cycle, ultimately contributing to improved health for women. © 2024 IEEE.

Leveraging ground truth data and GIS technologies for reliable crop analysis and agricultural production optimization

With an increasing global population, food security and crop data analysis are critical. Accurate ground-truth data is essential for reliable crop analysis and agricultural production optimisation. Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies play an important role in this regard, enabling the exact extraction, analysis, and visualisation of spatial data, allowing users to make informed choices. This research focuses on the significance of crop analysis and optimising agricultural production through the mapping of ground truth data to raster data and use of machine learning algorithms to predict crop yield. While mapping, a divergence of 45% was obtained between ground truth data and raster data. In the proposed solution, an expert system is employed to map raster data from the USGS Earth Explorer with ground truth data from drones using ArcGIS software, and a clustering algorithm is employed to forecast the yield from the generated NDVI image. Ground truth data collected using drones provides high-resolution imaging, flying flexibility, real-time data capture, and precise control over data collection elements, all of which improve results accuracy. The yield percentage was 66%, which meant 66% of the crops would yield well. A classification model trained on these images also provided a yield percentage of 66.8%, which was consistent with the findings. This research can help farmers make more educated decisions about irrigation, fertiliser application, and crop management, resulting in increased agricultural output. It can also help policymakers allocate resources and devise policies to increase food production and distribution, ultimately contributing to global food security. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Facial Expression Recognition (FER) aims to detect the emotional state of facial images. It is playing an increasingly important role in several application areas, including human–computer interaction (HCI), video transcriptions, and social communications. This article provides an adequate attention-based multi-task deep learning method for facial expression recognition. First, the input videos are collected from the RAVDESS and MELD datasets. Then, the input videos are converted using a threshold-based keyframe extraction algorithm. Next, the input data is pre-processed using the Adaptive Pixel Density Median Filtering (A-PDMF) method. Key features such as shape, color and texture are extracted from the pre-processed images. Finally, the facial expressions are recognized by proposing a novel twin attention-based multi-task convolutional bidirectional long-short-term memory method (TA-MC-BiLSTM). In addition, the classification parameters are optimally tuned using the EX-AHA method (Extended Artificial Hummingbird Algorithm). The proposed model reduces the size of facial features while accurately identifying the wide range of facial expressions. For simulation, the proposed method prefers python tool and results are analyzed using RAVDESS and MELD datasets. The simulation results show that the proposed model provides better results than other existing models in terms of accuracy of 99.6% for RAVEDESS and 99.4% for MELD. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
