DSANet: dilated spatial attention network for the detection of text, non-text and touching components in unconstrained handwritten documents

Handwritten documents generated in our day-to-day office work, class room and other sectors of society carry vital information. Automatic processing of these documents is a pipeline of many challenging steps. The very first and crucial step is to identify text separately from the non-text as any OCR (optical character recognition) engine can only process the textual content. Separating text from non-text in unconstrained handwritten documents is a very complex task. In addition to other challenges, touching component is one of the major issues for text non-text separation in unconstrained handwritten documents. Detection of text, non-text along with touching component in such documents is an unexplored area of research. To address this issue, in this work, we develop a dilated spatial attention-based network for text, non-text and touching component detection. Additionally, in this work, we also prepare a realistic dataset for the said task. In the proposed dataset, the present model obtains overall accuracy of 87.85%. The performance of the present model is compared with seven feature-engineering-based methods and six deep learning-based methods. In most of the cases, the proposed model outperforms the comparing methods in the proposed dataset. researchers have recently created several deep learning strategies for various tasks, and facial recognition has made remarkable progress in employing these techniques. Face recognition is a noncontact, nonobligatory, acceptable, and harmonious biometric recognition method with a promising national and social security future. The purpose of this paper is to improve the existing face recognition algorithm, investigate extensive data-driven face recognition methods, and propose a unique automated face recognition methodology based on generative adversarial networks (GANs) and the center symmetric multivariable local binary pattern (CS-MLBP). To begin, this paper employs the center symmetric multivariant local binary pattern (CS-MLBP) algorithm to extract the texture features of the face, addressing the issue that C2DPCA (column-based two-dimensional principle component analysis) does an excellent job of removing the global characteristics of the face but struggles to process the local features of the face under large samples. The extracted texture features are combined with the international features retrieved using C2DPCA to generate a multifeatured face. The proposed method, GAN-CS-MLBP, syndicates the power of GAN with the robustness of CS-MLBP, resulting in an accurate and efficient face recognition system. Deep learning algorithms, mainly neural networks, automatically extract discriminative properties from facial images. The learned features capture low-level information and high-level meanings, permitting the model to distinguish among dissimilar persons more successfully. To assess the proposed technique’s GAN-CS-MLBP performance, extensive experiments are performed on benchmark face recognition datasets such as LFW, YTF, and CASIA-WebFace. Giving to the findings, our method exceeds state-of-the-art facial recognition systems in terms of recognition accuracy and resilience. A Software Defect Prediction Method Using a Multivariate Heterogeneous Hybrid Deep Learning Algorithm

Software defect prediction plays a critical role in software development and quality assurance processes. Effective defect prediction enables testers to accurately prioritize testing efforts and enhance defect detection efficiency. Additionally, this technology provides developers with a means to quickly identify errors, thereby improving software robustness and overall quality. However, current research in software defect prediction often faces challenges, such as relying on a single data source or failing to adequately account for the characteristics of multiple coexisting data sources. This approach may overlook the differences and potential value of various data sources, affecting the accuracy and generalization performance of prediction results. To address this issue, this study proposes a multivariate heterogeneous hybrid deep learning algorithm for defect prediction (DP-MHHDL). Initially, Abstract Syntax Tree (AST), Code Dependency Network (CDN), and code static quality metrics are extracted from source code files and used as inputs to ensure data diversity. Subsequently, for the three types of heterogeneous data, the study employs a graph convolutional network optimization model based on adjacency and spatial topologies, a Convolutional Neural Network-Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-BiLSTM) hybrid neural network model, and a TabNet model to extract data features. These features are then concatenated and processed through a fully connected neural network for defect prediction. Finally, the proposed framework is evaluated using ten promise defect repository projects, and performance is assessed with three metrics: F1, Area under the curve (AUC), and Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods, offering a novel solution for software defect prediction.

Nonlinearity in Large-Cycle Cellular Automata

The class of maximal-length cellular automata (CAs) has gained significant attention over the last few years due to the fact that it can generate cycles with the longest possible lengths. For every l of the form l = 2n-1 where n ∈ , a cycle of length l can be generated by a cellular automaton (CA) of size ⌊log2 l⌋ + 1;this maximal-length CA is in fact the optimal (minimum-sized) CA to generate a cycle of length l. However, maximal-length CAs are, in general, linear and have some drawbacks. Moreover, it is nontrivial to address this problem for any l ∈ , that is, removing the constraint that l is of the form 2n-1. In this paper we therefore employ nonlinearity in the rules and aim to generate the near-optimal CA for any given cycle length l, meaning that the generated CAs will be of size n = (⌊log2 l⌋ + 1) + d, where the displacement d is as small as possible. We use a generic operator to concatenate a collection of component CAs of sizes n1, n2, …, nk by employing an evolutionary strategy. Here, n = n1 + n2 + ⋯ + nk and l ≥ lcm(1, 2, …, k ), where i (1 ≤ i ≤ k) is the maximum cycle length of a CA of size ni . An influencing factor in the design of component CAs is to achieve the near-optimal CA for a given cycle length. Here we consider nonlinear reversible large-cycle CAs as component CAs. By analyzing data gathered through Online Learning(OL)systems,data mining can be used to unearth hidden relationships between topics and trends in student ***,in this paper,we show how data mining techniques such as clustering and association rule algorithms can be used on historical data to develop a unique recommendation system *** our implementation,we utilize historical data to generate association rules specifically for student test marks below a threshold of 60%.By focusing on marks below this threshold,we aim to identify and establish associations based on the patterns of weakness observed in the past ***,we leverage K-means clustering to provide instructors with visual representations of the generated *** strategy aids instructors in better comprehending the information and associations produced by the *** clustering helps visualize and organize the data in a way that makes it easier for instructors to analyze and gain insights,enabling them to support the verification of the relationship between *** can be a useful tool to deliver better feedback to students as well as provide better insights to instructors when developing their *** paper further shows a prototype implementation of the above-mentioned concepts to gain opinions and insights about the usability and viability of the proposed system.

Machine learning(ML)is increasingly applied for medical image processing with appropriate learning *** applications include analyzing images of various organs,such as the brain,lung,eye,etc.,to identify specific flaws/diseases for *** primary concern of ML applications is the precise selection of flexible image features for pattern detection and region *** of the extracted image features are irrelevant and lead to an increase in computation ***,this article uses an analytical learning paradigm to design a Congruent Feature Selection Method to select the most relevant image *** process trains the learning paradigm using similarity and correlation-based features over different textural intensities and pixel *** similarity between the pixels over the various distribution patterns with high indexes is recommended for disease ***,the correlation based on intensity and distribution is analyzed to improve the feature selection ***,the more congruent pixels are sorted in the descending order of the selection,which identifies better regions than the ***,the learning paradigm is trained using intensity and region-based similarity to maximize the chances of ***,the probability of feature selection,regardless of the textures and medical image patterns,is *** process enhances the performance of ML applications for different medical image *** proposed method improves the accuracy,precision,and training rate by 13.19%,10.69%,and 11.06%,respectively,compared to other models for the selected *** mean error and selection time is also reduced by 12.56%and 13.56%,respectively,compared to the same models and dataset.
