In order to achieve the goal of a carbon-neutral power system, significant changes to the power grid are underway, necessitating enhanced interoperability between Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs) for effective grid operation, particularly in light of the growing number of distributed generators (DGs). Data privacy concerns, however, complicate decision-making processes, particularly when integrating DGs into system-wide dispatch decisions. In this paper, we propose a machine-learning (ML)-based method to incorporate DGs located within the distribution system (DS) into dispatch decisions, adhering to data privacy by mitigating the exchange of sensitive data, such as system topology and demand profiles, between TSOs and DSOs. The methodology involves training three ML models to represent the behavior of the DS, thereby replacing the standard power flow model that contains sensitive information. Notably, we utilize a novel tailored neural network (NN) architecture to enhance computational efficiency in mapping the feasible region of the DS. Additionally, we employ open-source data to construct the Baden-Wü rttemberg (Germany) electricity grid, allowing to test our method not only on standard systems but also on a model that more accurately represents real-world power systems. The numerical case studies verify that the proposed method achieves results comparable to standard AC optimal power flow (AC-OPF) in both cost-optimality and computational time. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, a lot of research work has been proposed on routing scheme in WSN. Remote Accessing is one of the most promising techniques due to its simplicity, scalability and efficiency. Under many research and development cell, it has been noted that establishing the wireless sensor nodes and let them work as a cluster, but the major problem with the wireless technology has limitation of range. The solution of this issue is to use Radio frequency as a way to communicate in a cluster. As REMS mainly focuses on the Agricultural sector, where the lands are present remotely with issues of Internet connectivity which is the main requirement for the present IOT devices. That is why we aim to develop a system which entirely runs on its own private network without any need of Internet connectivity. The system is easy to use and has a long range. The system also doesn’t require a smart phone as it is interface free, it can be controlled with a simple keypad phone. The cost effectiveness and the mentioned features makes REMS a system, which can independently survive in remote agricultural lands. Thus, the creation of this system will help farmers for controlling the devices which run on electricity (e.g Irrigation Motors) as the system is cost effective, has long range and a internet free technology. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2023.

As trivial as it is for humans to identify, locate, and distinguish objects from their backgrounds and other objects, for computer systems, it is not so trivial. In computer science domain, the topic of Object detection addresses this issue. Object detection is one of the core tasks of computer vision, which lays the foundation for instance segmentation, semantic segmentation, panoptic segmentation etc. The last two decades have seen the tremendous evolution of object detection methods, from the Voila Jones detector to deep learning models to transformer-based models. The recent trends in the field are YOLO models and transformer-based models (such as DETR). We aim to explore object detection using YOLO and pure transformer ViT, do a comparative study, and furthermore, explore the theoretical approach of the hybrid model of YOLO and ViT. © 2024 IEEE.

Mucormycosis, one of the significant fungal illnesses caused by the fungus Mucormycetes, is a rare and fatal disease. It is found all over the environment. People with weakened immune systems are more prone to get sick rapidly, including those with diabetes or COVID-19 history. Mucormycosis can affect the eyes and quickly spread to the brain if it enters through the nose, sinuses, or lungs. Existing research in the medical domain shows that deep learning techniques are a promising solution for assisting medical practitioners in making quick decisions. This study aims to use transfer learning with a predefined VGG16 model to create a classifier that can distinguish between mild and severe Mucormycosis illness symptoms. The neural network is trained, validated, and tested by loading black fungus dataset. The accuracy is calculated by varying the number of images. The results show that the proposed model gives an accuracy of 92% for 520 input images. © 2023 IEEE.

Worldwide, women are compressed by cervical cancer, which is a prevalent malignancy. This disease, which is currently the fourth leading cause of death for women, shows no symptoms when it first arises. Cells that cause cervical cancer multiply gradually at the cervix. If this cancer is detected early enough, treatment can be effective. Presently, it is difficult for medical workers to detect this kind of cancer before it spreads rapidly. This study used a number of machine learning classification algorithms with risk markers to predict cervical cancer. These study suggestions mutation-based Atom Search Optimization (MASO) with a Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) to offer a original method for automated diagnosis of uterine cervical cancer. Though DCNN is used to extract features from medical imaging data, MASO is used to increase the optimization of the diagnostic model. Composed, these technologies have the potential to rise cervical cancer diagnosis accuracy and efficiency, offering an automated approach for early detection and prompt intervention. Our proposed model established a strong 95% accuracy rate for generalization. This study explores the difficulties caused by missing values and class imbalance in the specific dataset with the goal of assisting medical professionals in the early detection of cervical cancer and improving treatment for people that are impacted by the illness. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep learning-based hyperspectral image (HSI) compression has recently attracted great attention in remote sensing due to the growth of hyperspectral data archives. Most of the existing models achieve either spectral or spatial compression and do not jointly consider the spatio-spectral redundancies present in HSIs. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose High Fidelity Compression (HiFiC)-based models for spatio-spectral compression of HSIs. In detail, we introduce two new models: i) HiFiC using Squeeze and Excitation (SE) blocks (denoted as HiFiCsE);and ii) HiFiC with 3D convolutions (denoted as HiFiC3D) in the framework of compression of HSIs. We analyze the effectiveness of HiFiCsE and HiFiC3D in compressing the spatio-spectral redundancies with channel attention and inter-dependency analysis. Experimental results show the efficacy of the proposed models in performing spatio-spectral compression, while reconstructing images at reduced bitrates with higher reconstruction quality. Cancers have emerged as a significant concern due to their impact on public health and society. The examination and interpretation of tissue sections stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) play a crucial role in disease assessment, particularly in cases like gastric cancer. Microsatellite instability (MSI) is suggested to contribute to the carcinogenesis of specific gastrointestinal tumors. However, due to the nonspecific morphology observed in H&E-stained tissue sections, MSI determination often requires costly evaluations through various molecular studies and immunohistochemistry methods in specialized molecular pathology laboratories. Despite the high cost, international guidelines recommend MSI testing for gastrointestinal cancers. Thus, there is a pressing need for a new diagnostic modality with lower costs and widespread applicability for MSI detection. This study aims to detect MSI directly from H&E histology slides in gastric cancer, providing a cost-effective alternative. The performance of well-known deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) and a proposed architecture are compared. Medical image datasets are typically smaller than benchmark datasets like ImageNet, necessitating the use of off-the-shelf DCNN architectures developed for large datasets through techniques such as transfer learning. Designing an architecture proportional to a custom dataset can be tedious and may not yield desirable results. In this work, we propose an automatic method to extract a lightweight and efficient architecture from a given heavy architecture (e.g., well-known off-the-shelf DCNNs) proportional to a specific dataset. To predict MSI instability, we extracted the MicroNet architecture from the Xception network using the proposed method and compared its performance with other well-known architectures. In response to growing security concerns and the increasing demand for face recognition (FR) technology in various sectors, this research explores the application of deep learning techniques, specifically pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models, in the field of FR. The study harnesses the power of five pre-trained CNN models—DenseNet201, ResNet152V2, MobileNetV2, SeResNeXt, and Xception—for robust feature extraction, followed by SoftMax classification. A novel weighted average ensemble model, meticulously optimized through a grid search technique, is introduced to augment feature extraction and classification efficacy. Emphasizing the significance of robust data pre-processing, encompassing resizing, data augmentation, splitting, and normalization, the research endeavors to fortify the reliability of FR systems. Methodologically, the study systematically investigates hyperparameters across deep learning models, fine-tuning network depth, learning rate, activation functions, and optimization methods. Comprehensive evaluations unfold across diverse datasets to discern the effectiveness of the proposed models. Key contributions of this work encompass the utilization of pre-trained CNN models for feature extraction, extensive evaluation across multiple datasets, the introduction of a weighted average ensemble model, emphasis on robust data pre-processing, systematic hyperparameter tuning, and the utilization of comprehensive evaluation metrics. The results, meticulously analyzed, unveil the superior performance of the proposed method, consistently outshining alternative models across pivotal metrics, including Recall, Precision, F1 Score, Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC), and Accuracy. Notably, the proposed method attains an exceptional accuracy of 99.48% on the labeled faces in the wild (LFW) dataset, surpassing erstwhile state-of-the-art benchmarks. In order to lower death risks, provide the most effective course of treatment, and improve community healthcare, the majority of recent research has concentrated on examining prevalent illnesses in the population. One of the prevalent ailments that has impacted our society is kidney disease. Around the world, kidney tumors (KT) rank tenth in terms of frequency in both men and women. The organization of cancer is a problem that is attracting increasing attention in the domains of bioinformatics and computational biology. This study presents a comparative analysis of the latest developments in deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML). While several methods have been proposed to tackle the cancer classification challenge, new research indicates that supervised and deep learning-based methods are the most effective. Healthcare has advanced as a result of the creation of numerous machine learning techniques for awareness evaluation in cancer categorization. It seems that there is a high requirement for the ongoing development of efficient categorization algorithms in order to handle the growth in healthcare applications. The comparative analysis of the proposed classification shows the accuracy as 0.92%. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, fog computing has extended cloud services to the network edge, lowering network latency and congestion and overcoming cloud computing restrictions. Many hurdles, however, must be overcome before the benefits of the fog-IoT paradigm for low-latency applications can be completely realized. The most challenging difficulty in IoT applications is developing efficient resource management strategies that maximize throughput while minimizing delay. IoT and fog computing, rather than simply utilizing cloud computing technology, have brought intriguing new data management solutions. Fog computing makes real-time analytics applications conceivable. After combining fog computing technologies with Internet of Things (IoT) applications, the system can reply in milliseconds. Existing fog resource managers focus on a subset of fog resource management parameters such as system response time, network bandwidth, energy consumption, and latency. No Fog resource management takes multiple factors into account at the same time for decision-making, which will become increasingly crucial in intelligent homes. Gateway-based Fog computing pioneered the introduction of the shortest job (SJFGFC) to address these difficulties. The technique is validated in an IoT-based imaginative house automation scenario before being evaluated in a small-scale bright home experiment using the iFogSim toolbox and empirical models. © 2024 IEEE.
