The CP-ABE-based access control scheme, which can better realise the access control of many-to-multi-ciphertext shared in the cloud storage architecture, is still facing the problems that the system cost is too large, and the policy attribute revocation or restore is not flexible. This paper proposes an efficient access control scheme based on CP-ABE with supporting attribute change in cloud storage system. The fine-grained access control can be achieved by re-encryption mechanism which takes the minimum shared re-encryption key for policy attribute set. And then the access structure tree is expanded by creating a corresponding virtual attribute for each leaf node attribute. The analysis results of the scheme indicate that the efficient and flexibility of the attribute change is not only improved, but also the system cost is reduced. Quantum technologies such as communications, computing, and sensing offer vast opportunities for advanced research and development. While an open-source ethos currently exists within some quantum technologies, especially in quantum computer programming, we argue that there are additional advantages in developing open quantum hardware (OQH). Open quantum hardware encompasses open-source software for the control of quantum devices in labs, blueprints and open-source toolkits for chip design and other hardware components, as well as openly-accessible testbeds and facilities that allow cloud-access to a wider scientific community. We provide an overview of current projects in the OQH ecosystem, identify gaps, and make recommendations on how to close them today. More open quantum hardware would accelerate technology transfer to and growth of the quantum industry and increase accessibility in science. © 2023, CC BY.

Properties of ceramic body produce from kaolin and palm oil fuel ash (POFA)

Palm oil fuel ash (POFA) is a waste generated by the palm oil industry from the burning of palm kernel shells, empty fruit bunch, and fibers at a temperature range of 800 oC – 1000 oC as fuel to produce electricity for the palm oil extraction process. The disposal of this waste in the open air or as a landfill causes a lot of environmental problems. In this study, the physical and mechanical properties of a ceramic body made with kaolin and POFA were investigated by varying the amount of POFA content from 10-50 wt%. The density, water absorption, mass loss, shrinkage as well as compressive strength test have been performed. The results showed that the highest density of 2.48 g/cm3 was obtained with 20 wt% of POFA along with the lowest water absorption rate of 0.11 %. The compressive strength obtained at 20 wt% of POFA was 127 MPa. Besides, the XRD result confirmed the presence of high peak intensity of the mullite phase which increases densification and results in a high-density value. Consequently, it can be concluded that the utilization of POFA in the ceramic application has an advantage in the enhancement of its properties making it a promising waste material for producing high-strength ceramic materials.

Frank-Wolfe-type methods for a class of nonconvex inequality-constrained problems

The Frank-Wolfe (FW) method, which implements efficient linear oracles that minimize linear approximations of the objective function over a fixed compact convex set, has recently received much attention in the optimization and machine learning literature. In this paper, we propose a new FW-type method for minimizing a smooth function over a compact set defined as the level set of a single difference-of-convex function, based on new generalized linear-optimization oracles (LO). We show that these LOs can be computed efficiently with closed-form solutions in some important optimization models that arise in compressed sensing and machine learning. In addition, under a mild strict feasibility condition, we establish the subsequential convergence of our nonconvex FW-type method. Since the feasible region of our generalized LO typically changes from iteration to iteration, our convergence analysis is completely different from those existing works in the literature on FW-type methods that deal with fixed feasible regions among subproblems. Finally, motivated by the away steps for accelerating FW-type methods for convex problems, we further design an away-step oracle to supplement our nonconvex FW-type method, and establish subsequential convergence of this variant. Numerical results on the matrix completion problem with standard datasets are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed FW-type method and its away-step variant. The lattice Boltzmann method has been widely used to study thermal particulate flows that are usually observed in both nature and engineering, while how to efficiently and accurately treat the fluid-solid boundary conditions is still an important and not well-resolved issue. In this paper, a diffuse-interface lattice Boltzmann method (DI-LBM) is developed for complex thermal particulate flows with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Unlike the previous works where the fluid-solid boundary is treated as a sharp interface, the fluid-solid boundary in the DI-LBM is implemented as a diffuse interface such that the physical variables and transport coefficients in the fluid and solid regions are varied smoothly. To depict the diffuse interface, a smooth function is introduced, and simultaneously, an additional source term is added in the evolution equation to reflect the effect of Dirichlet boundary condition imposed on the fluid-solid boundary. The present method is also tested by several classical problems, and the numerical results show that the DI-LBM is not only of second-order convergence rate in space, but also efficient in the study of complex thermal particulate flows. © 2025 Author(s).

Billions of users around the world are using social networking sites (SNS) to express everyday thoughts and feelings. Investigating motives of using SNS is attracting scholarly attention. The common way to assess users' motives is analyzing data from self-report questionnaires. The current research aims to identifying undergraduate students' motives of using Weibo from digital traces, in an effort to alleviate the distortion in self-report data. The term frequency-inverse document frequency (Tf-idf) was employed to obtain key terms and their weights in digital traces crawled from Weibo. Top frequent terms, based on Tf-idf, indicate that entertainment, information seeking and sharing, and alleviating life stress are among the major motives of using Weibo. This study underscores the feasibility and importance of directly detecting motives of using SNS from digital traces.

Quantum computing has a potential to accelerate data processing efficiency, especially in machine learning, by exploiting special features such as the quantum interference. The major challenge in this application is that, in general, the task of loading a classical data vector into a quantum state requires an exponential number of quantum gates. The approximate amplitude encoding (AAE) method, which uses a variational means to approximately load a given real-valued data vector into the amplitude of a quantum state, was recently proposed as a general approach to this problem mainly for near-term devices. However, AAE cannot load a complex-valued data vector, which narrows its application range. In this work, we extend AAE so that it can handle a complex-valued data vector. The key idea is to employ the fidelity distance as a cost function for optimizing a parametrized quantum circuit, where the classical shadow technique is used to efficiently estimate the fidelity and its gradient. We apply this algorithm to realize the complex-valued-kernel binary classifier called the compact Hadamard classifier, and then we present a numerical experiment showing that it enables classification of the Iris dataset and credit card fraud detection.

Click on a formula to *** agriculture (PA) research aims to design decision systems based on agricultural site control and management. These systems consist of observing fields and measuring metrics to optimize yields and investments while preserving resources. The corresponding applications can be found on large agricultural areas based on satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and sol robots. All these applications based on various algorithms that are complex in terms of processing time. If these algorithms are evaluated offline on work-stations or desktops, this is not the case for algorithms that need to be embedded and should operate and help make real-time decisions. We, therefore, need an advanced study using hardware-software co-design approach to design decision systems to embed different algorithms, including sensor data acquisition and processing units. In this work, we propose a review in processing information tools-based embedded systems in PA algorithms with different applications: weed detection, numerical counting, monitoring of plant indexes, and disease detection. This review has been based on more than 100 papers to extract useful information on the different techniques used and the information processing systems. The elaborated study presents the various tools, databases, and systems in order to extract the advantages and disadvantages of system and application.
