Timely prediction of heart disease and its cause is the most challenging issue in medical science. This paper uses various machine learning algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Naive Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbourhood, and K-fold cross-validation are used to predict heart diseases. The system uses a K-fold cross-validation technique to enhance the accuracies of algorithms. The UCI Kaggle Cleveland heart disease datasets is used to analyse the performance of the models. It is found in the experiment that the training accuracy of K-Nearest Neighbour is 88.52%, and Recall is 93.30%. The Random Forest produced the highest and most comparable Receiver Operating Characteristics Curve accuracy. Moreover, the experimental results of the recommended techniques are compared with previous heart disease prediction studies, and it is found that among the suggested technique, the performance of K-Nearest Neighbour is best. The fundamental goal of this study is to design a novel and distinctive model-creation approach for resolving practical issues. © 2023 IEEE.

Cancer victims, particularly those with lung cancer, are more susceptible and at higher danger of COVID-19 and associated consequences as a result of their compromised immune systems, which makes them particularly sensitive. Because of a variety of circumstances, cancer patients' diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare are very complicated and time-consuming during an epidemic. In such circumstances, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms (ML) offer the capacity to boost cancer sufferer diagnosis, therapy, and care via the use of cutting technologies. For example, using clinical and imaging data combined with machine learning methods, the researchers may be able to distinguish among lung alterations induced by corona virus and those produced by immunotherapy and radiation. During this epidemic, artificial intelligence (AI) may be utilized to guarantee that the appropriate individuals are recruited in cancer clinical trials more quickly and effectively than in the past, which was done in a conventional and complicated manner. In order to better care for cancer patients and find novel and more effective therapies, It is critical that we move beyond traditional research methods and use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to update our research (ML). Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are being utilised to help with several aspects of the COVID-19 epidemic, such as epidemiology, molecular research and medication development, medical diagnosis and treatment, and socioeconomics. Blind Equalization using a Variational Autoencoder with Second Order Volterra Channel Model

Existing communication hardware is being exerted to its limits to accommodate for the ever increasing internet usage globally. This leads to non-linear distortion in the communication link that requires non-linear equalization techniques to operate the link at a reasonable bit error rate. This paper addresses the challenge of blind non-linear equalization using a variational autoencoder (VAE) with a second-order Volterra channel model. The VAE framework’s costfunction, the evidence lower bound (ELBO), is derived for real-valued constellations and can be evaluated analytically without resorting to sampling techniques. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through simulations on a synthetic Wiener-Hammerstein channel and a simulated intensity modulated direct detection (IM/DD) optical link. The results show significant improvements in equalization performance, compared to a VAE with linear channel assumptions, highlighting the importance of appropriate channel modeling in unsupervised VAE equalizer frameworks. © 2024, CC BY.

This article addresses the challenge of efficiently recovering exact solutions to the optimal power flow problem in real-time electricity markets. The proposed solution, named Physics-Informed Market-Aware Active Set learning OPF (PIMA-AS-OPF), leverages physical constraints and market properties to ensure physical and economic feasibility of market-clearing outcomes. Specifically, PIMA-AS-OPF employs the active set learning technique and expands its capabilities to account for curtailment in load or renewable power generation, which is a common challenge in real-world power systems. The core of PIMA-AS-OPF is a fully-connected neural network that takes the net load and the system topology as input. The outputs of this neural network include active constraints such as saturated generators and transmission lines, as well as non-zero load shedding and wind curtailments. These outputs allow for reducing the original market-clearing optimization to a system of linear equations, which can be solved efficiently and yield both the dispatch decisions and the locational marginal prices (LMPs). The dispatch decisions and LMPs are then tested for their feasibility with respect to the requirements for efficient market-clearing results. The accuracy and scalability of the proposed method is tested on a realistic 1814-bus NYISO system with current and future renewable energy penetration levels. © 2023 IEEE.

We use a density-based topology optimization approach to design dualband planar metallic antennas. The design problem is formulated based on the time-domain Maxwell's equations, solved using the finite-difference timedomain (FDTD) method. The antenna design is formulated as an optimization problem where the received and reflected energy by the antenna in two frequency bands, centered around 2.5 GHz and 5.5 GHz, are optimized. Two design examples that exhibit outstanding performance are presented. In one design case, we employ a nonlinear filtering scheme to impose size control on the optimized design and ensure manufacturability.

Bitcoin is the leading cryptocurrency with the highest market value among digital currencies. Therefore, predicting the value of Bitcoin can help to understand the entire cryptocurrency market. However, Bitcoin has had a lot of price fluctuations since its inception. In this paper, we are going to forecast the price of Bitcoin using news headline analysis, technical analysis indicators, and historical financial data. The news headlines used in this article are scraped from the Cointelegraph news website, which contains 3988 news headlines related to Bitcoin between 2/7/2020 and 3/8/2021. A transformer pre-trained model on cryptocurrency-related texts called CryptoBERT, which is a BERT-based sentiment analysis model, has been used to analyze the textual data. Also, a novel hybrid 2DCNN-GRU deep learning model has been used to predict the price. To adjust the parameters of this model, a parameter tuning method based on orthogonal arrays called the Taguchi method has been employed. Finally, to examine the proposed model’s efficiency, the obtained results have been compared with other deep learning models from the literature review that used text data to predict bitcoin prices. The results show that this model outperformed other models in terms of MAE criterion, while in the other three criteria, namely MSE, RMSE and MAPE, it still demonstrated good results.

In the age of swift digital advancement, social media has emerged as a vital and readily available information source for users. Individuals utilize social media to communicate, articulate thoughts, and disseminate their viewpoints, both textually and visually. Twitter is a social media platform that people extensively utilize to disseminate both favorable and unfavorable information regarding GoFood services. This study intends to apply the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm within the GoFood service on Twitter. This research also seeks to assess the accuracy of the CNN algorithm in relation to GoFood services. Employing deep learning techniques, particularly the convolutional neural network algorithm, to analyze Twitter user sentiment can enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and simplicity of classifying answers to GoFood services. The findings indicated that the Convolutional Neural Network technique was effectively employed to classify positive, negative, and neutral feelings. The optimal accuracy rate was attained through preprocessing with Stemming, yielding 51% accuracy for multiclass classification and 72% for binary class classification. The accuracy percentage for classification without stemming was 49% for multiclass classification and 70% for binary classification. This research holds possible consequences for Gojek firms and can serve as evaluative and assessment material for GoFood services, enabling them to implement necessary corrective measures.

We investigate the relationship between input-to-state stability (ISS) of linear infinite-dimensional systems and existence of coercive ISS Lyapunov functions. We show that input-to-state stability of a linear system does not imply existence of a coercive quadratic ISS Lyapunov function, even if the underlying semigroup is analytic, and the input operator is bounded. However, if in addition the semigroup is similar to a contraction semigroup on a Hilbert space, then a quadratic ISS Lyapunov function always exists. Next we consider analytic and similar to contraction semi-groups in Hilbert spaces with unbounded input operator $B$ . If $B$ is slightly stronger than 2-admissible, we construct explicitly a coercive $L^{2}$ -ISS Lyapunov function. If the generator of a semigroup is additionally self-adjoint, this Lyapunov function is precisely a square norm in the state space.

Analytical solutions of differential equations offer exact insights into fundamental behaviors of physical processes. Their application, however, is limited as finding these solutions is difficult. To overcome this limitation, we combine two key insights. First, constructing an analytical solution requires a composition of foundational solution components. Second, iterative solvers define parameterized function spaces with constraint-based updates. Our approach merges compositional differential equation solution techniques with iterative refinement by using formal grammars, building a rich space of candidate solutions that are embedded into a low-dimensional (continuous) latent manifold for probabilistic exploration. This integration unifies numerical and symbolic differential equation solvers via a neuro-symbolic AI framework to find analytical solutions of a wide variety of differential equations. By systematically constructing candidate expressions and applying constraint-based refinement, we overcome longstanding barriers to extract such closed-form solutions. We illustrate advantages over commercial solvers, symbolic methods, and approximate neural networks on a diverse set of problems, demonstrating both generality and accuracy. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.

Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is sensitive to ensemble-averaged molecular displacements, which provide valuable information on e.g. structural anisotropy in brain tissue. However, a concrete interpretation of diffusion-weighted MRI data in terms of physiological or structural parameters turns out to be extremely challenging. One of the main reasons for this is the multi-scale nature of the diffusion-weighted signal, as it is sensitive to the microscopic motion of particles averaged over macroscopic volumes. In order to analyze the geometrical patterns that occur in (diffusion-weighted measurements of) biological tissue and many other structures, we may invoke tools from the field of stochastic geometry. Stochastic geometry describes statistical methods and models that apply to random geometrical patterns of which we may only know the distribution. Despite its many uses in geology, astronomy, telecommunications, etc., its application in diffusion-weighted MRI has so far remained limited. In this work we review some fundamental results in the field of diffusion-weighted MRI from a stochastic geometrical perspective, and discuss briefly for which other questions stochastic geometry may prove useful. The observations presented in this paper are partly inspired by the Workshop on Diffusion MRI and Stochastic Geometry held at Sandbjerg Estate (Denmark) in 2019, which aimed to foster communication and collaboration between the two fields of research. © 2021, The Author(s).
