In this study, we assessed the possibility of using the GREENLAB model to quantitatively simulate adaptive responses of tomato plants competing for light. The model was able to reproduce modifications induced by a reduction of plant spacing in dry matter production and in the allocation pattern. However, the analysis of parameter stability showed that some parameters were environment dependent and that an adjustment of model formalisms was required to explicitly represent the plant response. Model parameters also proved to be sensitive to the data acquisition procedure. We confirmed that target files composed of dry matter records lead to parameters that were better indicators of the carbohydrates metabolism at all densities.

Lithium aluminium phosphate glasses doped with samarium oxide were prepared by melt-quenching technique and investigated their physical, optical and luminescence properties. The result of physical properties indicated that the density and the molar volume of glass samples were increased with an increase of Sm 2 O 3 content. The absorption spectra of glass samples were recorded in the wavelength range of 250-2000 nm, these glasses have shown strong absorption bands in the visible (Vis) and near-infrared (NIR) region at 401 and 1232 nm. The emission spectra of glasses, excited with 401 nm excitation wavelength showed four emission bands centered at 561, 597, 644 and 704 nm. From Judd-Ofelt analysis, the J-O parameter (Ω 2 , Ω 4 , Ω 6 ), radiative transition possibility ( A R ), stimulated emission cross-section (σ(λ p )) and branching ratios ( β R ) were indicated that the glass samples an interesting potential for using glass as laser medium with 597 nm emitting.

Due to its significant applications in magnetic devices for cell separation, magnetic drugs for cancer tumor treatment, blood flow adjustment during surgery, magnetic endoscopy, and fluid pumping in industrial and engineering processes, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) has a wide range of applications. Therefore, the aim of this study to investigate the Relative Magnetic Field and slipping effect on Casson dusty fluid of two-phase fluctuating flow over inclined parallel plate. More exactly, the relative magnetic phenomena are fixed relatively to the plate (MFFRP) or fixed relatively to the fluid (MFFRF). The mathematical modeling was established as the set of partial differential equations for dusty Casson fluid. Buckingham's pi theorem is used to find out the dimensionless variables, to make our system dimensionless. The solution in perturb form is to find out by incorporating Poincare–Lighthill perturbation technique (PLPT). To know in-depth different parameters the graphical results for both velocities are plotted with the help of software Mathcad- 15. It is clearly detected that the relative magnetic field performs a vital part in the fluid as well as particle motion. Moreover, the relative magnetic field play a vital role in the decreasing of skin friction of both plates. © 2023

Trivalent europium doped aluminium phosphate glasses with different alkali oxides (Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O) have been prepared by melt quenching technique at 1200 °C. Photoluminescence properties of the obtained glasses have been studied and characterized. Also, Absorption and radiative properties of glasses are evaluated using the Judd–Ofelt (JO) theory. The emission spectra of all glasses remain the characteristic emission peak of Eu 3+ with a dominant peak at 612 nm, corresponding to the 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 transition by monitoring an excitation wavelength at 393 nm. In the present glass system it was found that lithium oxide has higher intensity of emission spectra than sodium oxide and potassium oxide. The JO intensity parameters (Ω 2 , Ω 4 , Ω 6 ) and subsequent radiative properties for the 5 D 0 → 7 F J (J = 1,2,3,4) transitions are determined. These glasses have potential candidate in the development as red laser source applications.

Neodymium (Nd 3+ ) doped calcium barium phosphate glasses have been studied in different concentration of Nd 3+ ions. The absorption and luminescence spectra, the Judd–Ofelt (JO) intensity parameters Ω 2,4,6 and other radiative properties, which is radiative transition probabilities ( A R ), stimulated emission cross-sections (σ(λ p ) and branching ratios ( β R ) were calculated. These glass samples have shown strong absorption bands in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) region. The emission spectra of glass samples have exhibited three emission transitions, which are assigned to 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 9/2 , 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 11/2 and 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 13/2 transitions, respectively. Also, the results obtained were compared with reports on similar glasses.

Optical absorption, excitation, emission spectra and lasing potential of sodium aluminium phosphate (Na 2 O-Al 2 O 3 -P 2 O 5 ) glasses doped with Eu 3+ ions were studied and discussed. These glasses were synthesized by melt-quenching technique at 1200 °C. It was found that the emission spectra of glass samples exhibited an intense red (612 nm) emission band upon excitation with 394 nm. Judd-Ofelt (JO) intensity parameters (Ω λ=2,4,6 ), radiative transition probabilities (A R ), peak stimulated emission cross-sections ( σ (λ p )) and branching ratio ( β ) were calculated and compared between without and with thermal corrections. The evaluated JO values indicated that, this glass perform high potential for using as red laser medium application

2D Basement Relief Inversion using Sparse Regularization.

Basement relief gravimetry is a key application in geophysics, particularly important for oil exploration and mineral prospecting. It involves solving an inverse geophysical problem, where the parameters of a geological model are inferred from observed data. In this context, the geological model consists of the depths of constant-density prisms representing the basement relief, and the data correspond to the gravitational anomalies caused by these prisms. Inverse geophysical problems are typically ill-posed, as defined by Hadamard, meaning that small perturbations in the data can result in large variations in the solutions. To address this instability, regularization techniques, such as those proposed by Tikhonov, are employed to stabilize the solutions. This study presents a comparative analysis of various regularization techniques applied to the gravimetric inversion problem, including Smoothness Constraints, Total Variation, the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), and the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) using Daubechies D4 wavelets. Optimization methods are commonly used in inverse geophysical problems because of their ability to find optimal parameters that minimize the objective function—in this case, the depths of the prisms that best explain the observed gravitational anomalies. The Genetic Algorithm (GA) was selected as the optimization technique. GA is based on Darwinian evolutionary theory, specifically the principle of natural selection, where the fittest individuals in a population are selected to pass on their traits. In optimization, this translates to selecting solutions that most effectively minimize the objective function. The results, evaluated using fit metrics and cumulative error analysis, demonstrate the effectiveness of all the regularization techniques and the Genetic Algorithm. A New Hybrid Algorithm of Bisection and Modified Newton's Method for the nth root-finding of a Real Number

This paper presents a new algorithm to approximate the nth root of a given real number z. The proposed algorithm is a hybrid algorithm between the Bisection method and the combination of the inverse of sine series and Newton's method. The proposed algorithm will be tested to find the numerical results on Matlab programming. The results showed that if z > 1, the proposed method converges with the initial interval [1, z] and if 0 < z < 1, it converges with initial interval [0,4]. The comparison of the obtained result with Newton's method and AS-Newton's method shown that the efficiency of the proposed algorithm may better than both of them concerning the initial value.

The idea of a Kripke semantics endowed with possibility/plausibility information is not new; in fact there are different approaches for that; see: [6], [13], [16], [19]. This paper follows the approach found in [6], but whereas [6] provides a fixed interpretation for connectives into [0,1] here we provide a characterization of a fuzzy semantics for connectives in such a way that the resulting fuzzy frames: K, T and D, are described precisely by the set of statements which also describes, respectively, the usual modal systems K, T and D.
