A direct adaptive control method with a simple identification of the controller parameters is presented for a class of uncertain time-varying nonlinear systems. The systems are divided into a finite number of subsystems, which are interpolated by functions of an exogenous scheduling variable. The adaptive method yields stability of all signals in the closed-loop, as well as convergence of the state vector to a residual set around the equilibrium, whose size can be set by the choice of several design constants. The effectiveness of the presented method with global convergence and less plant information is demonstrated by simulation results. © 2009 IEEE.

Embedded systems have been used in industry control field widely for its excellent advantages of small space, powerful performance, high reliability, low power dissipation and special purpose. In this paper, we designed an embedded ARM hardware circuit using the microprocessor S3C44B0 as a core according to a testing principle of wiring harness. Its interface circuit can be used for controlling and data transmission, and the wiring harness testing circuit was implemented by CPLD. ©2009 IEEE.

According to the result of soil sampling and test, soil properties map can be achieved by interpolation. After that, a prescription map can be generated to conduct variable-rate fertilization. This process is the core of precision agriculture. It can not only save fertilizer, but also improve economic and environment benefit. The system which was based on Geography Information System (GIS) could: 1) interpolate soil properties map by Kriging method;2) integrate yield, meteorological data and soil data into a database;3) loose coupling GIS with knowledge model based on Web Services technology;4) generating and releasing a prescription map on Web, and sharing the model-base on web. The study constructed the basic frame and process flow of prescription map based on knowledge model, Web Services and WebGIS, improved the rationality and reliability of the prescription map, implemented to generate and release a prescription on Web, and make it easy for user to get a prescription map. ©2009 Crown.

The fast and low-cost soil sampling methods is the key for Precision Agriculture (PA) to be applied widely. In this paper, a general framework of an intelligent system for soil sampling has been constructed. Five modules have been set up to response to some main function about soil sampling based on Geographic Information System (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. Elastic algorithm had been utilized to design the sampling path. With this system, we can design soil sampling sites and optimize sampling path easily. A navigation function has been designed, with which a vehicle can be navigated to each soil sampling point quickly and accurately. Furthermore, the geographic coordinates and the soil laboratory analysis results of samples can be integrated to be managed. Finally, connecting with a sensor, the system can analyze samples in the field, immediately after they were taken. © 2009 Crown Copyright.

Neural Network (NN) based analog circuit fault diagnosis approach is the widely used strategy in present. In this paper, a NN-ensemble-based strategy has been introduced into the field of analog circuit fault diagnosis. Efficient, accurate and different fault features sets are obtained by resampling the original feature sets with Bagging algorithm in order to train individual RBF neural networks as component classifiers simultaneously, then plurality voting strategy is employed to isolate the actual faults of analog Circuit Under Test (CUT). Experimental results indicate that compared with any of its individual RBF neural network, the NN ensemble is able to effectively improve the generalization ability of the analog circuit fault classifier and increase the fault diagnosis accuracy. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2009.

As a method of fault diagnosis and state monitoring for HV-power equipments, infrared image analysis has been applied while edge detection is a crucial step of this image application. In this paper, a novel edge detection based on quantum-inspired is proposed. Quantum-inspired edge detection (QIED) is based on concepts and principles of quantum computing such as quits and superposition of states. And detailed process of this method and result using in power equipment infrared image are given. The experiment result shows that compared with conventional edge detection QIED can extract more useful information for fault diagnosis. © 2009 IEEE.

The method integrated by independent component analysis (ICA) and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is proposed in this paper, which can separate the signal from white noise. We used this method to eliminate the white noise from electric power system signals. The detailed courses of construction of virtual noise channel used EMD are described. Based on the characteristic of signals and noise, the principle of select intrinsic mode function (IMF), using the Hubert time-frequency spectra, is proposed to construct virtual noise channel. Then the inputs of the ICA are reconstructed by virtual channel and observation signal. By the ICA, the signal-noise separation will be realized. The simulation tests indicate that the de-noising performance of electric power system signals is effective. © 2009 IEEE.

Neural Network (NN) ensemble approach has been an appealing topic in the field of analog circuit fault diagnosis lately. In this paper, a new method for fault diagnosis of analog circuits with tolerance based on NN ensemble method with cross-validation is proposed. Firstly, bias-variance decomposition shows the theoretical guide on how to choose the component networks when composing the ensemble. Secondly, output voltage signal of the Circuit Under Test (CUT) has been obtained after the stimulus imposed on the CUT. After getting the corresponding fault feature sets, Bagging algorithm is employed to produce the different training sets in order to train the different component networks, and cross-validation technique has been employed to further improve fault diagnosis accuracy. Finally, the outputs of the component ensemble members are combined to isolate the CUT faults. Simulations result shows the superior performance of this proposed approach. This system is able to effectively improve the generalization ability of the analog circuit fault classifier and increase the fault diagnosis accuracy. ©2009 IEEE.

At present, the city quakeproof and disaster reduction, urgent rescue as well as the disaster fast appraisal are important method to reduce the earthquake disaster. Therefore, establishing a real-time, all-around seismic disaster analyse and evaluation system is extremely essential. This article puts forward a seismic disaster analyse and Evaluation System which followed the OGC standard of the related service standard with GLS, GDAS, WFS-T, GML and WMS. It can promote the data sharing level to the feature class. Indicated after the experiment, the system has realized effectively the assessment in seismic disaster analyse and evaluation, and decision support to reduce disaster, emergency succor. ©2009 IEEE.
