Face symmetrical feature can be applied to two-dimensional principal component analysis (2DPCA) for face image feature extraction, and this procedure can be called symmetrical 2DPCA (S2DPCA). Now, these S2DPCA-based face recognition algorithms almost pay much attention to the feature extraction, and the classification measures have been little investigated. In this paper, the typical similarity measure used in 2DPCA is applied to S2DPCA, which is the sum of the Euclidean distance between two feature vectors in feature matrix, called distance measure (DM). The similarity measure based on Frobenius-norm is also developed to classify face images for S2DPCA. Furthermore, the relative theories on S2DCPA are proofed. The experimental results on ORL and FERET face databases show that S2DPCA has the potential to outperform traditional 2DPCA, especially on condition that DM is used for S2DPCA.

One new approach for detection tank level is investigated based on the auto-adaptive double-threshold Canny operator, considering IR imaging of tank level and aiming at the problem of the detection of tank level. Edge operator of tank level based on the auto-adaptive double-threshold Canny operator can set double-threshold automatically, according to different tank level IR imaging gray gradient histogram's feature, instead of traditional Canny operator in which double-threshold should be set artificially, to avoid the loss of edge information especially liquid level's information because of improper artificial selection. In the process of picking up liquid level's information, it can analyze the number of horizontal stripes, and get their idiographic position according to the number, making edge operator more practical in application of tank level detection .The simulation result indicate that edge detection of tank level based on the auto-adaptive double-threshold Canny operator apply in detection of tank level very well.

In satellite images processing, image restoration is an important pre-processing step. As some traditional deblurring methods like Wiener filtering often obtain an either smooth or noisy solution, whereas some edge-preserving methods are iterative and time-consuming; a modified Fourier-wavelet deconvolution method (ForWaRD) is proposed in this paper. This method could be implemented forward directly with two steps. From the view of practical engineering, this approach could obtain pretty good results in a fast speed, so it is a suitable method in satellite image restoration area.

This article gives a capsule view of research on rough set theory and applications ongoing at universities and laboratories in China. Included in this capsule view of rough set research is a brief description of the following things: Chinese research groups on rough set with their URLs for web pages, names of principal researchers (supervisors), numbers of graduate students, and topics being investigated. Statistical summaries showing the growth in the research on rough set theory and application in China are included. In addition, an introduction summarizing the research interests of Chinese researchers is included in this article. 在MATLAB中建立了二进制频移键控(BFSK)在加性高斯白噪声信道(AWGN)中传输的系统模型,对三个模块(信源模块、信道模块、信宿模块)进行了设计,得到了加性高斯白噪声信道的信噪比(SNR)与信号的误比特率(BER)之间的关系曲线图,对二进制频移键控在高斯白噪声信道中的传输性能进行了分析.可以看出,在加性高斯白噪声信道中,BFSK调制信号的误比特率随着信噪比的增加而降低.当信噪比达到14dB时,误比特率低于10-3.

Network process technology is becoming the key technique in the next generation network. This paper presents applications and exploitations of hardware circuits of an Input-Router based on the IXP425 network processor platform. With the expanding applications and exploitations of network processor character and under the master module, a hardware network encryption card was designed by expanding CPLD and FPGA through PCI and adding the mechanism of hardware encryption. A network equipment card was design by expanding the PCI interface to IXP425 and under the slave module, and was implanted to the cluster servers. Finally we gave the expectation view of the development of network processors.

A method about the fractal characterization of non-stationary time series, which is based on measure by dividing the sequence into many segments and not sensitive to embedding dimension, is proposed in this letter. To analyze several experimental data we find that the new method can effectively measure the fractal scale coefficient and detect present of the object in land clutter.

Introductions are made in the present study on the overall design of the data acquisition system of radon chamber, the composition of the hardware of various parts, the structural framework between the software and hardware, the display spectrum of the data acquisition system, and part of the major qualities of the α spectrometry within the system. The radon chamber data acquisition system designed by this method has such characteristics as high degree of computerization, convenient operation of the menu display of computers, stability and reliability of the operation of the system, etc.

The selection of parameters and structure are critical for wavelet neural networks (WNN) when they are used for fault diagnosis. Genetic algorithm is presented to optimize the structure and the parameters of WNN in the training process because of its good ability of global optimization. This method solves the main problem of easily falling into local extreme minimum to cause slow convergence when the classical gradient descent algorithm is employed for training WNN. A three-layer network trained with genetic algorithm is applied to fault diagnosis of analog circuits. Simulation results show that WNN adopting this scheme achieves a comparatively simple structure and fast convergence. It has excellent capability of fault identification and diagnosis for analog circuits. Comparing with non-genetic WNN with same structure, the proposed approach gains better diagnosis accuracy. © 2007 IEEE.

Vehicle safety traffic is a hot issue today. Because the factors of pre-warning decision are very complex, including weather, time, vehicle type, self-speed, relative speed and so on, those factors usually induces pre-warning decision of vehicle safety traffic not to meet real-time capability and high accuracy. Different weather, different vehicle types and different speeds require different pre-warning decisions. For the existing condition of the high ways in China, a vehicle safety traffic pre-warning decision is proposed combining multi-sensor information fusion with fuzzy expert system. The factors of pre-warning decision are real-timely detected by multi-sensor information fusion and the decision is designed on fuzzy expert system. At last, the pre-warning decision is applied on high ways .The results show that the pre-warning decision reduces the rate of misreport and the rate of missing report of the pre-warning system and enhances stability and practicability. It sufficiently considers the existing condition of the high ways in China and the habits of drivers, so it is of wide application value. © 2007 IEEE.
