Design of Portable Physiotherapy Instrument with Stable Stimulation Current for Assisting in Tuina

Chinese Tuina, a manual massage therapy in traditional Chinese medicine, can be further enhanced with appropriate electrical stimulation to achieve improved physical therapy effects. However, as the several key parameters (i.e., duration, contact area and force) in Tuina manipulation treatment change, the stimulation current may become unstable and result in discomfort to the patient. We developed a portable physiotherapy instrument to assist in Tuina physiotherapy. In our design, multi-electrodes are introduced to expand depth and range of stimulation. Meanwhile, a current control method is proposed to stabilize the stimulation current during the variation of the Tuina physiotherapist’s manipulation. The Euclidean Distance about average peak-to-peak value of the ideal output and our method output voltage in a single cycle is only 1.5899, this value represents the voltage data in volts (V) after being amplified by a factor of 10 by the oscilloscope. Compared with other control algorithms, the proposed method reduces the Euclidean distance by at least 38.960%. Furthermore, the proposed method can effectively decrease the current change caused by the changes of the physiotherapist’s manipulation, thus reducing the patient’s discomfort during treatment. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Most abnormal detection is performed by converting collected signals into temporal signals and then detecting them by algorithms. In Raman-based Distributed Temperature Sensor (RDTS) systems, because of the spatial continuity of optical fibers, the collected signals are spatial domain signals with huge amount. If it is still detected by temporal signals, it will cause problems such as increase of model number and difficulty of parameters adjustment. After the fiber is affected by temperature, the heat at its center point will diffuse around, and other points near the center of the fiber will be affected, triggering spontaneous Raman scattering light signal intensity change in the fiber. The fundamental reason for the certain relationship between the light signal intensity of these points is their spatial *** exploit this relationship explicitly, we propose a GraphSAGE-based temperature anomaly event localization method (hereafter called DAGD). First, we normalize the collected RDTS signals and feed them into the model to extract the corresponding features. Then, the spatial location of the temperature abnormal event is obtained by binary division of the feature values using a logistic regression function Sigmoid. An RDTS experimental setup has been established to verify the performance of the proposed method. The overall smaller number of false positives and false negatives for the DAGD verifies the better performance of this model, which also shows a classification F-score of 0.93, with an accuracy, precision and recall of 99.16%, 89.74% and 95.69% respectively. © 2023, The Authors. Traditional blood pressure measurement methods are mostly contact, cumbersome and easy to bring discomfort to patients, and the measurement results are likely to be affected by psychological factors, which is inconvenient for home physiological health monitoring in the aging society. Based on the above problems, we use millimeter wave radar to collect the echo signals from the human chest and wrist veins, and then obtain the specific value of blood pressure through machine learning. This method collects and processes ECG and PPG signals and performs pre-processing, filtering, mathematical analysis and other operations on the signals to finally calculate systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The feasibility of non-contact blood pressure parameter measurement was verified by conducting experiments on 30 subjects and comparing the measurement results of the non-contact method with those of the traditional method, and the errors were within the controllable range [1].

Trunk rehabilitation plays a pivotal role in enhancing locomotive capacities and balance for patients with hemiplegia. In this paper, we present TrunkFlex, a cable-driven robotic system designed specifically to promote self-engagement in post-stroke trunk rehabilitation. Unlike conventional rehabilitation robots, which often interact with patients in a rigid manner, TrunkFlex incorporates a cable-driven mechanism powered by eight servo motors, allowing for versatile rehabilitation exercises. Our introduced follow-and-stimulate module, along with posture correction and speed limit modules, is integrated into the control scheme and operates in parallel to induce patient-initiated movement, thereby encouraging self-engagement and promoting a more flexible and seamless rehabilitation process. Muscle activation experiments demonstrate a significant enhancement in active engagement, as evidenced by a marked increase in muscle activity intensity compared to passive rehabilitation methods.

To decrease the dependency of fuel-based resources in the shipping industry, the energy management problem is analyzed in this paper. Firstly, the development of shipboard energy system is reviewed from radiation pattern, ring pattern, two-end pattern to the ship-integrated energy system. Moreover, for ensuring the secure sailing, a multi-objective energy management model is established with the consideration of economic and environmental benefits. Meanwhile, the requirements of supply-demand balance, velocity, voltage security and so on are considered as well in the energy management. Then, a distributed energy management strategy based on ADMM algorithm is proposed. Finally, simulation results of a 5-node test system proves the effectiveness of the constructed energy management model and the distributed algorithm.

This paper investigates event-triggered optimal control for human-in-the-loop (HiTL) multi-agent systems (MASs) facing false data injection (FDI) attacks. An approach is introduced to enhance the security of sensor measurements against sparse attacks by employing a secure preselector, while also devising a state observer to estimate the system state, which is not directly measurable. Introducing an event-driven mechanism for solution transformation involves establishing a Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation, while employing a critic network along-side an experience replay technique to approximate it. Lyapunov stability theory is employed to derive an event-triggered condition ensuring the boundedness of consensus error and critic network weight error.

The crystal structures, electronic and lattice dynamical properties of binary W-Mo alloys under different irradiation intensities have been studied by first principles method. Our calculated lattice constants of W1-xMox at Te=0 eV are broadly consistent with other values. The values of lattice parameters for W1-xMox increase with the enhancement of Te. The obtained electronic densities of states display that when binary W-Mo alloys undergo a sharp increase of its electronic temperature, the energy band of the sample moves to a higher energy, but its Fermi level shifts to a lower energy with the elevation of Mo concentration x. All phonon frequencies of W1-xMox at Te=0 eV shift up uniformly as the proportional of x is enhanced. While no negative frequencies are observed for W1-xMox for Te up to 10 eV, indicating that their lattices are still in the stable states after the short laser pulse illumination. © 2022, The Authors. Liver disease diagnosis is pivotal for effective patient management, and machine learning techniques have shown promise in this domain. In this study, we investigate the impact of Polynomial-SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis on enhancing the performance and interpretability of machine learning models for liver disease classification. Our results demonstrate significant improvements in accuracy, precision, recall, F1_score, and Matthews correlation coefficient across various algorithms when polynomial- SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis is applied. Specifically, the Light Gradient Boosting Machine model achieves exceptional performance with 100 % accuracy in both scenarios. Furthermore, by comparing the results obtained with and without the approach, we observe substantial differences in the performance, highlighting the importance of incorporating Polynomial-SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis for improved model performance. The Polynomial features and SHapley Additive exPlanations values also enhance the interpretability of machine learning models by capturing complex feature interactions, enabling users to gain deeper insights into the underlying mechanisms driving the diagnosis. Moreover, data rebalancing using Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique and parameter tuning were employed to optimize the performance of the models. These findings underscore the significance of employing this analytical approach in machine-learning-based diagnostic systems for liver diseases, offering superior performance and enhanced interpretability for informed decision-making in clinical practice. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Study for the Lattice Stability of Binary W-Mo Alloys Under Intense Laser Irradiation

The crystal structures, electronic properties and lattice dynamics of binary W-Mo alloys under different irradiation intensities have been studied by first principles method based on density functional perturbation theory (DFPT). Firstly, our calculated equilibrium lattice constants of W 1-x Mo x (x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1) at T e =0 eV are broadly consistent with other theoretical and experimental data. The change of lattice parameter for W 1-x Mo x (x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1) increases slightly with T e changing from 0 eV to 0.5 eV. when T e is beyond 0.5 eV, the lattice parameters of W 1-x Mo x (x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1) are significantly improved. Next, the values of electronic density of state demonstrate that the tungsten-molybdenum alloys exhibit metallic characteristics after intense laser irradiation. When T e is shifted from 0 eV to 2 eV, the band of the sample moves to the higher energies and its Fermi level moves towards lower energies with the elevation of Mo concentration x. Finally, the results of phonon frequencies display that the lattice of W, W 0.25 Mo 0.75 and W 0.5 Mo 0.5 start to become unstable when T e is more than 1.51 eV, 1.61 eV and 1.76 eV, respectively. However, for Mo and W 0.75 Mo 0.25 , their lattices are still in the stable states with T e raising from 0 eV to 2 eV. The above results indicate that when the Mo concentration x of the system is greater than 0.25, the doping of Mo will reduce the lattice stability of W 1-x Mo x after the short laser pulse illumination. © 2022, The Authors.
