To investigate the security control of nonlinear cyber-physical systems (CPSs), we present the stability analysis and the control synthesis for the nonlinear networked control systems (NCSs) subject to uncertainty and non-periodic cyber-attacks. To capture the uncertainty and nonlinearity directly and effectively, the interval type-2 (IT2) polynomial fuzzy model is adopted to describe the nonlinear dynamics of the plant, which is also subject to uncertainty. In the NCSs, the resilient polynomial event-triggered mechanism (PETM) is proposed to save the communication requirement on the bandwidth while the influence from non-periodic denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on the networks is also considered. The PETM and the DoS attacks directly lead to the mismatch issue for the fuzzy-model-based (FMB) control design framework. As a consequence, the mismatch issue renders the parallel distributed compensation (PDC) based approaches inadequate for the stability analysis. Through the piecewise Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method, the mismatch issue between the premise variables subject to the event-triggered mechanism and the presence of DoS attacks is investigated rigorously through the membership-function-dependent (MFD) approach along with the imperfect premise matching (IPM) concept. Furthermore, the conservativeness in stability conditions is further reduced through MFD analysis. Besides, the PETM mechanism depending on the state is verified to relax the stability condition and save the communication bandwidth. The simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed control design. © 2024 IEEE.

The speed control of ships occupies an important position in the fields of ship motion control. Considering the speed control problem of hydrodynamic parameter variation and unknown disturbances, this paper proposes an automatic speed tracking control method of ships based on broad learning system (BLS). The derivation results show that the controller can ensure the asymptotic stability of the error of the speed control system. The simulation results show that this method has stronger adaptive and learning ability and better performance than other methods. It can adaptively adjust the parameters of PID controller according to the current disturbances and system output, and can effectively suppress the disturbances caused by the change of hydrodynamic parameters and the external unknown disturbances. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper studies the relationship between the number of groups and multi-consensus, when the topology of certain multi-agent system(MAS) is conducted randomly. As the core of multi-consensus control is to generate different numbers of consensus groups, this research will play a reference role for the subsequent multi-consensus control design of MAS. First, analyzes the reasons for the emergence of multi-consensus and combines it with the topological structure of MAS. After that, taking the number of agents in the system and different topological structures as variables, the different topological structures are represented by the number of neighbors of each agent, and use Monte Carlo method to randomly generate topological structures. Then the number of multi-consensus groups under different conditions is obtained through experimental simulation and the number of groups under different situations is analyzed and summarized. © 2021 IEEE.

The AlCrNbTiZr high-entropy alloy (HEA) coatings with different deposition temperatures were prepared on Zr-4 substrate by magnetron sputtering. The effects of the deposition temperature on microstructure, mechanical properties, surface wettability, high temperature corrosion and oxidation resistance of coatings were systematically studied. The results show that the thickness of coating decreases first and then increases with the increase of deposition temperature. The coatings deposited at all temperatures is amorphous with BCC nanocrystalline domains, and the coating surface is hydrophobic. The room temperature (RT) deposition coatings have a high hardness of 25.41GPa, a good adhesion of 50N and corrosion resistance compared with the coating at other deposition temperatures. The coating at RT deposited still has the ability to protect the substrate Zr-4 after the 1200 °C steam oxidation for 30min. In addition, the corresponding steam oxidation mechanism is discussed in detail. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The continual rise in energy consumption has become a significant issue for power systems. Hence it is important to promote energy saving and reduce consumption for solving this problem. Also, finding solutions to enhance energy efficiency is crucial due to the increase in global energy demand. To improve the effectiveness of a power system network, it is important to monitor, manage, and regulate electrical energy needs on a real-time consumption basis. The development of smart homes includes energy management as a key component. A reliable appliance load monitoring (ALM) system is important for the smart energy management framework. ALM’s objectives include achieving comprehensive energy sensing and disseminating data on energy use. This will make it possible for automated energy management systems to identify appliances that use higher energy. Thereby enabling them to implement energy saving methods such as rescheduling the high power demand to off-peak hours. Non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) is one of the most popular energy management strategies in recent years. It enables customers and industries to effectively control their energy use. Utilizing a single energy meter, the NILM technology has gained popularity as an emerging method for tracking events (on/off) and energy use of electrical services and appliances in buildings. Consumers might better understand their appliance behaviour and take the appropriate actions to reduce energy consumption with the aid of information on energy consumption at the appliance level. Hence, the main objective of this paper is to present a comprehensive review of energy management monitoring approaches with an emphasis on non-intrusive load monitoring.

An Adaptive Multi-Bernoulli Filter for Coexisting Point Target and Extended Target Tracking With Unknown Detection Probability

This paper proposes an adaptive multi-Bernoulli (MB) filter for coexisting point target and extended target tracking, where the detection probability of each target is unknown and time-varying. The detection probability of the target directly affects the tracking accuracy in multi-sensor multi-target tracking. In realistic tracking circumstances, the detection probability of the target is unknown. Therefore, it is crucial to adaptively estimate the detection probability of the target in real-time. In addition, as the resolution of sensor increases, the point target and extended target often coexist in the field of view. Therefore, it is necessary to construct a generalized measurement model for tracking coexisting point target and extended target. For the coexistence of point and extended target, we model the spatial probability density function which can accommodate both point target and extended target based on a MB filter. For the unknown detection probability, we integrate the detection probability into the target state and the detection probability is characterized as a Beta distribution. To obtain a closed-form solution, the spatial probability density function of each MB component is modeled as a mixture of the Beta-Gaussian distribution and the Beta Gamma Gaussian Inverse Wishart (BGGIW) distribution. Based on the estimated probability of the point target, the target is determined as either a point target or an extended target. Finally, the detection probability, kinematic state, Poisson measurement rate (MR) and extended state of each target are estimated synchronously. Simulation results verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm. © 2013 IEEE.

Water hammer has always been one of the most important thermal safety issues in nuclear power plants. In the piping system of a nuclear power plant, water hammer can cause pipe vibration, equipment damage, and even pipe rupture, challenging the structural integrity and safety of the nuclear reactor. To improve computational efficiency, the simulation of water hammer waves is often calculated using a one-dimensional model, but this does not provide accurate pressure variations and intuitive information about the flow field. Especially for systems with complex geometric mechanisms, it is important to accurately simulate the dynamic interaction between the fluid and the system equipment. Therefore, it is important to perform multi-dimensional water hammer simulations. In this paper, a single-phase water hammer three-dimensional analysis code is developed based on the finite volume method. Preliminary verification of the code was carried out using a single-phase water-based wave tube benchmark case, a two-dimensional case, and a three-dimensional case. The simulation results show that the developed code can capture the propagation characteristics of the pressure wave in a relatively reasonable manner, especially the reflection and superposition behavior of the pressure wave can be observed. This indicates that the proposed numerical model and algorithm are reasonable and accurate in capturing the three-dimensional propagation process of single-phase pressure waves. The relevant research results can provide some theoretical and methodological support for the analysis and evaluation of water hammers in nuclear power plant reactors. © 2025, The Authors. Wrapped wire is widely used in new reactor core design. Simulation with traditional body fitted grid needs a large number of grids, which requires more computing resources. By optimizing the basic mathematical model of momentum source method, simulation of wire wrapped rod bundle with arbitrary wire shape can be carried out. By simulating the experimental data of 3 wire wrapped rod bundle, the model adaptability of momentum source method and mesh sensitivity analysis are carried out. Then optimized momentum source method and original momentum source method are compared based on simulation of supercritical carbon dioxide flow and heat transfer in wire wrapped rod bundle with different wire shapes. Through comparison with body fitted grid, the improvement of accuracy of optimized momentum source model can be proved. In conclusion, optimized momentum source method can greatly save the computational resources and calculated results is more accurate than original momentum source method. © 2023, The Authors. Smart substation auxiliary control system (SSACS) is an important part of the smart substation. Among them, the national grid technical standards have made corresponding provisions on the function, composition, communication, etc. of the auxiliary control system, but they are relatively general. And there are some differences in the division, functions, access methods, and other aspects of the subsystem. At the same time, there are great differences in the product realization of various manufacturers, which brings serious problems to the operation and maintenance of smart substations. A simulation-based test framework is proposed to design a test system for the smart substation auxiliary control system to strictly test the whole system. All the devices and IEC 61850 protocols are tested by the proposed simulators. The experiment results show the test system can effectively test the auxiliary control system.

This paper considers the course tracking control of an unmanned surface vehicle with state and input quantization, aiming to saving communication resources and improving system efficiency. The radial basis function neural network (RBF - NN) is used to approximate the model uncertainty. A linear analytical model is used to describe the input quantization process. The adaptive neural network quantization controller does not need the prior information of quantization parameters. Then the stability of the unquantized system and the boundedness of the quantification error in the closed-loop control system are proved by means of some lemmas. On this basis, the stability of the designed system with state and input quantization is proved. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm are verified by simulation experiments.
