The ground-based calibration of the spectrometer onboard the astronomical satellite is extremely basic and important for the payload to complete the detection missions and achieve the scientific goals. With an excellent determination of the responsive relationship such as energy-channel relation, energy resolution, detection efficiency, and the non-uniformity of the detector, the observational data in orbit of the payload can be analyzed effectively and reasonably. The research has implemented the calibration campaign of a NaI(Tl) detector named GRD05, which is the main detector of the gamma-ray monitor (GRM) onboard the Space-based multiband astronomical Variable Objects Monitor(SVOM) satellite, utilizing a single-crystal monochromatic hard X-ray beam with the range of 15-40 keV. According to the data analysis results, the energy response and detection efficiency of the GRD05 are in good agreement with the expected output by Monte Carlo simulations. © 2021 IEEE.

With the development of maritime intelligent transportation, the health of seafarers has attracted more and more attention. The noise in the engine room of large ships is huge, and the engineers are prone to suffer from tympanic membrane perforation. It is necessary to use intelligent means to diagnose it quickly and accurately. This paper uses deep learning and BLS to recognize the crew's tympanic membrane image, uses ResNet as the pre-feature extraction network of BLS, and then uses BLS algorithm for feature classification to complete the diagnosis of the crew's tympanic membrane perforation disease. The test set results show that the recognition precision rate of this method is 87%, the recall rate is 92%, the accuracy rate is 90%, and the reasoning time is 203.5ms, which is better than other comparison methods. Therefore, this method can accurately and quickly identify tympanic membrane perforation diseases, facilitate batch processing of seafarers' tympanic membrane image data, and has high practical application value. © 2021 IEEE.

Investigating Bubble Dynamics on Silicon Carbide Surfaces During Flow Boiling

Silicon carbide (SiC) has emerged as a promising candidate for Accident-Tolerant Fuels (ATFs) in nuclear power plants, where its heat transfer properties are critical for maintaining functionality and extending service lifespan. However, the dynamics of bubble formation, size, and distribution on SiC surfaces during flow boiling are not fully understood, particularly under the impact of porosity. This study aims to elucidate the impact of heat transfer characteristics and bubble distribution properties under flow boiling condition on SiC surface. An experimental was conducted with a superheat range of 0-30K, a subcooling range of 0-12K, and a maximum Reynolds number of 10,400. Videos were recorded and U-net were employed to identify bubble diameters, perimeters, orientations, and positions. Results indicate that the superheat significantly affects parameters related to bubble size, such as departure diameter and perimeter, but does not influence the distribution category of bubble characteristics. In terms of bubble distribution properties, the aspect ratio and size of bubbles follow a log-normal distribution, while the orientation of bubbles follows a normal distribution. Under identical experimental conditions, surfaces with higher porosities exhibit increased heat flux, and the Sauter mean diameter of bubbles is larger. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

When the inter-turn short circuit fault occurs in the dry-type air-core shunt reactor (DASR), the short circuit loop will consume a large amount of active power, which will cause the equipment temperature to rise in a short time and damage the equipment. Therefore, it is very important to detect the fault in the early stage of the inter-turn short circuit fault. This paper presents a method to detect the number of inter-turn short circuit fault turns of the DASR based on modified active power (P m ) and modified reactive power (Q m ), at low voltage with low frequency. The formulas for Pm and Q m are obtained by adding correction factors to the formulas for active power and reactive power respectively. Their correction factors are obtained by using genetic algorithm. The variations of Pm and Q m under normal condition and short circuit condition with different turns are studied. The inter-turn short circuit fault with different frequency and different fault location is simulated. It provides a feasible method for detecting the inter-turn short circuit fault of the DASR and determining the number of short circuit turns.

In-situ TEM observation of the evolution of helium bubbles & dislocation loops and their interaction in Pd during He^(+) irradiation

The microstructural evolution of purity Pd under 30 keV He^(+)irradiation at 573 K was investigated by in-situ transmission electron *** nucleation,growth,merging,annihilation,size change,number density variation,and types of dislocation loops were analyzed under the influence of irradiation fluence and sample *** perfect dislocation loops with b=1/2<110>and faulted dislocation loops with b=1/3<111>were ***,at low irradiation fluence,most of the loops were 1/3<111>*** thickness of TEM foil obviously affected the ratio of 1/3<111>loop variants,the size and number density of dislocation loops,and the characteristics of bubble-loop *** the increase of irradiation fluence,the size of dislocation loops increased,but loop volume number density remained almost constant until dislocation loops merged and evolved into dislocation *** was an obvious interaction between dislocation loops and bubbles,indicating that 1/3<111>loop was first formed at the initial stage of irradiation,and when the loop grew to a certain size,obvious helium bubbles appeared inside its region.

Linear machine has been verified to be suitable for some direct-drive applications with linear motion requirement. As a family member of linear machine, the transverse flux linear machine (TFLM) has attached widely interest for the advantage of high force density. However, in the traditional TFLM, the useless permanent magnet flux leakage occupies a large ratio of the total magnetic flux excited by permanent magnet, which leads to the limit of thrust density improvement. In this paper, a tubular transverse flux linear machine with dual-consequent-pole configuration (DCP-TTFLM) is introduced, which improves the force density and space utilization than traditional transverse flux machines. The topology and principle of DCP-TTFLM are introduced. Then, the electromagnetic characteristics of this machine is investigated by a finite element model, and the results shows the excellent performance of the DCP-TTFLM. © 2021 IEEE

With the intensification of global climate change and the depletion of fossil energy sources, the low-carbon transition to green energy can reduce fossil energy consumption and environmental pollution. In the low-carbon transition of green energy, it is essential to take climate factors into account in future energy planning. Climate factors such as wind speed, temperature, and light intensity can affect the output and stability of renewable energy, which in turn affects future energy planning. Taking Guangdong Province as an example, this paper analyses the future wind resource changes related to wind power generation in Guangdong Province in the next 40 years, in order to provide reasonable guidance for wind farm construction and future energy planning.

As an important part of battery health management, accurate prediction on remaining useful life of lithium-ion battery can maintain and replace the batteries in advance to guarantee the safety and stability of the energy storage system. Most extant models use a single model throughout the entire stage for prediction, which may lead to the decrease of the accuracy for subsequent prediction due to insufficient learning, as well as disability to predict battery remaining useful life with data from other batteries. To solve these issues, a segmented prediction model of lithium-ion battery remaining useful life is proposed. In this method, the knee point of the capacity decline curve is detected and then long short-Term memory and support vector regression models are used to predict the remaining useful life before and after the knee point, respectively. The experimental prediction results represent that the proposed method achieves higher prediction accuracy compared with long short-Term memory method. © 2023 IEEE.

In the field of nuclear energy, the Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) is recognized as one of the most severe types of nuclear reactor accidents, characterized by its complex physical processes and potentially catastrophic consequences. These challenges impose stringent requirements on safety analysis and emergency response. Accurate prediction and analysis of fluid behavior within pipelines under LOCA conditions are critical for evaluating accident outcomes and formulating response strategies. This paper introduces an innovative intelligent computing approach—a Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) model driven by both physical data and simulation data, specifically tailored for LOCA conditions. To address the challenges posed by multivariable and complex physical relationships, the six-equation two-fluid model is first simplified to represent the physical processes. Subsequently, a dual-driven PINNs network is developed, integrating both simulation data and physical constraints. The proposed model demonstrates a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.02, a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.044, and an R2 of 0.81 in predicting the outcomes under the six-equation model.
