Water flow and temperature drift are the main sources of underwater turbulence. In laser based underwater frequency transfer, underwater turbulence will introduce timing fluctuations, leading to deterioration of frequency transfer. In order to reveal the relationship between the timing fluctuation of transferred frequency signal and the drift of velocity and temperature, this paper establishes a mathematical model to analyze the timing fluctuation caused by water flow and temperature under different gradients. To validate our model, we transmitted a 100 MHz RF signal on a 3.5-meter underwater transmission link, with different artificial flow velocity and temperature drift set during the transmission process. The measured timing fluctuations are consistent with our analysis. The experimental results show that within 5000s, the root mean square (RMS) timing fluctuations of RF signals with velocity gradient, temperature gradient, and no gradient are approximately 37 ps, 123 ps, and 23 ps, respectively. This indicates that the timing fluctuation caused by temperature gradient is higher than that caused by velocity gradient.

In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy control algorithm is proposed for the intelligent ship autopilot system that takes into account input saturation, external disturbance, and nonlinear terms generated by strong uncertainty. Since the generalized fuzzy hyperbolic model (GFHM), the parameters of the traditional fuzzy method can be simplified, the complexity of the model can be greatly reduced, and the nonlinear function can be approximated with arbitrary precision. The algorithm proposed in this paper uses the auxiliary system to compensate the limited input signal, and the GFHM approximates the nonlinear function. The bound of all variables in the closed-loop system can be verified by the Lyapunov method. The simulation proves that the autopilot control rudder angle duration curve and the desired heading tracking error curve tend to be stable when considering the limited rudder angle input and unknown nonlinear terms. The simulation results further verify that the fuzzy algorithm in this paper can effectively control the ship's course. © 2021 IEEE.

As global energy demand and warming increase, there is a need to transition to sustainable and renewable energy sources. Integrating different systems to create a hybrid renewable system enhances the overall adoption and deployment of renewable energy resources. Given the intermittent nature of solar and wind, energy storage systems are combined with these renewable energy sources, to optimize the quantity of clean energy used. Thus, various optimization strategies have been developed for the integration and operation of these hybrid renewable energy systems. Existing studies have either reviewed hybrid renewable energy systems or energy storage systems, however, these studies ignored energy storage systems integrated with hybrid renewable energy systems. This study offers a comprehensive analysis of the optimization methods used in hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) integrated with energy storage systems (ESS). We examined the optimization models used in the integration of HRES and ESS, their objectives, and the common constraints. Based on our review, capacity and CO₂ emissions constraints were frequently used in hybrid optimization techniques that are effective approaches for integrating HRES and ESS. This research supports the move towards sustainable, clean energy solutions by combining an analysis of energy storage techniques with the optimization of hybrid renewable energy systems. © 2024 The Authors

Al-based composites containing high neutron absorption cross section elements are the most promising shielding materials for spent fuel storage, but their irradiation performance is the key to their long-term service stability. In the present work, an in-situ study on the evolution and characteristics of irradiation defect clusters including dislocation loops, gas bubbles and hydrogen platelets in Al-based Gd2O3-W composites during 30 keV H2+ irradiation was carried out in a transmission electron microscope and analyzed in detail. The delamination of bubbles and the formation of tunnel structure in Al matrix were found for the first time. Hydrogen platelets in Al5W particles was first observed, and their formation and evolution and corresponding mechanism were investigated in detail. Platelets with different orientation had different growth rates, and the relationship between growth rate and dose was constructed. Besides, the irradiation-induced increment of yield strength in Al matrix was estimated. This study will provide new insights for the design and development of new Al-based rare earth composites with high resistance to irradiation damage. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Small nuclear reactor (SMR) system has many advantages, including low construction cost, short construction period and fast economic benefits. SMR has broad prospects in power supply in remote areas, small power grids, low-temperature heating, nuclear hydrogen production, seawater desalination, nuclear powered ships, etc. In order to study the hydraulics and thermal parameters of supercritical carbon dioxide as coolant in SMR, this paper developed a supercritical carbon dioxide reactor sub-channel analysis program based on Modelica language. Based on the sub-channel analysis method, the reactor coolant flow channel is divided in several control bodies, then the program calculates hydraulics and thermal parameters of each control body. In order to verify the correctness of the model and program, sub-channel program will calculate the axial temperature distribution, radial temperature distribution, coolant flow rate and power level under steady-state conditions. Then compare these calculations with KAIST MMR in Korea. In the transient characteristic analysis, this paper will analyze the reactor power increase, reactivity insertion and coolant flow loss accident, then evaluate the safety performance of the reactor. This paper relies on theoretical modeling and program development method, studying the sub-channel thermal hydraulic characteristics of steady-state and transient conditions, which provides theoretical reference and program support for the study of transient response characteristics and safety characteristics of supercritical carbon dioxide reactor. © 2023, The Authors. The insulation level of power system is based on the overvoltage protection level of arresters. Zinc oxide(ZnO) varistor is widely used as the core element in power arrester and surge suppressor because of its excellent nonlinear voltage-current(V-I) characteristics and high surge energy absorption capability. Electrical characteristics of ZnO varistor are determined by its complex micro-structure and grain boundary characteristics. In this study, the microstructure model of ZnO varistor is established based on Voronoi model. A large-scale nonlinear resistance network equation for solving the macroscopic electrical properties of ZnO varistors is established by using a grain boundary zoning model considering intergranular bypass effect. Aiming at that it is difficult to solve the large-scale nonlinear resistance network equation by using the conventional Newton iterative method, a fast optimization algorithm based on piecewise linearization and differential reconstruction is proposed. The error index of the calculation result is less than 10^-3 orders of magnitude. Besides, the effects of microstructure parameters, such as spinel content, nonuniformity of grain size and porosity on the electrical properties of ZnO varistors were obtained by calculation. © 2023 IEEE.

Soil plant analysis development (SPAD) represents relative chlorophyll content, which directly affects tabacco health. Accurate monitoring of tobacco canopy SPAD is vital to guide field management. Due to low correlation, few number of features and single model, the existed inversion models have low accuracy and poor robustness. This paper expanded samples from hyperspectral images using PROSAIL, so as to avoid overfitting. In the aspect of feature extraction, the optimized vegetation index is added to increase the correlation between features and SPAD. The inversion model combines K-means and XGBoost to form a mixed model. The results show that the mixed model has better effect on the validation set than other models, R 2 =0.83, RMSE=3.9.

The proton-proton(pp)fusion chain dominates the neutrino production in the *** uncertainty of the predicted pp neutrino flux is at the sub-percent level,whereas that of the best measurement is O(10%).In this study,for the first time,we measure solar pp neutrinos in the electron recoil energy range from 24 to 144 keV using the PandaX-4T commissioning data with 0.63 tonne×year *** pp neutrino flux is determined as(8.0±3.9(stat)±10.0(syst))×1010 s^(-1)cm^(-2),which is consistent with the Standard Solar Model and existing measurements,corresponding to an upper flux limit of 23.3×10^(10)s^(-1)cm^(-2)at 90%C.L..

The article developed a distributed security control protocol of unmanned ships (USs) with the disturbances. To constraint the tracking errors within a predefined boundary, an infinite-time performance function and a logarithmic Lyapunov function are simultaneously introduced. Using the novel disturbance estimator, the disturbances are estimated. With the aid of the backstepping method, a distributed security controller is obtained and it is given that all the states of the system are bounded in finite time and the tracking errors can also meet preset performance requirements. Eventually, unmanned ships are given to show the utilizability of the obtained protocol.
