This paper investigates the command filter-based adaptive prescribed time tracking control problem for the uncertain nonlinear systems with input quantization. By applying adaptive control technique to backstepping control framework, a compensation technique-based tracking control scheme is proposed, where the influence of unknown time-varying parameters and non-vanishing disturbances can be compensated. Different from some existing command filter-based asymptotic tracking control methods, the designed controller ensures the output tracking error converges to a preassigned residual set within the prescribed time. Finally, the simulation result is given to validate the effectiveness of the presented method.

To overcome the shortcomings of low automation, low test precision, and inaccurate control precision in the micro-lubrication device, a minimal quantity lubrication (MQL) system with high accuracy was designed. The system is composed of sensors (e.g. flow sensor, air pressure sensor), microcontroller unit (MCU), and control mechanism (e.g. peristaltic pump, air pressure valve), which can realize the functions of automatic detection, signal processing, and control in real-time. Concurrently, the improved PID control algorithm (GA_PID) based on genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize PID parameters makes the whole control system to achieve rapid response and accurate control. In this study, the MQL system with an improved PID control algorithm has high stability and has engineering application value due to its high efficiency of regulating parameter performance.

The primary method for improving the anti-icing performance of metals involves enhancing the superhydrophobic properties of the metal surfaces. However, the superhydrophobic properties of micro/nanostructured surfaces often deteriorate in low-temperature environments, limiting their performance in anti-icing applications. In this study, instead of simply optimizing the surface superhydrophobic properties, we adjusted the structure and structural parameters of air pockets, which more effectively solved the problem of hydrophobicity degradation at low temperatures. Anti-icing tests revealed that the anti-icing performance of an optimized surface can be further improved in three critical stages throughout the anti-icing process compared to structural surfaces with similar high surface hydrophobicity and low apparent solid-liquid contact area. This performance improvement is attributed to the enhancement in the Cassie-state stability, induced by the optimization of air pockets throughout the anti-icing process. This paper proposes a new direction for structural optimization to address the issue of degraded anti-icing performance in low-temperature environments. Moreover, femtosecond laser micro/nanoprocessing, which offers the advantages of flexible design and industrial scalability, was employed for structure preparation. Our work holds significant promise for application in the development and application of superhydrophobic anti-icing functional surfaces. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper reviews the recent methods of ultrasonic echo signal parameter estimation in downhole instruments, the accurate measurement results of which guarantee the quality of dip calculation, hole shape analysis, and formation identification in Ultrasonic Borehole Imaging (UBI). Focusing on the time of arrival (TOA) and amplitudes inversion for ultrasonic pulse-echo signals, algorithms based on models, information criteria, and neural networks are respectively analyzed. Numerical and analytical experiments utilizing test well databases provide performance comparison and the relative merits of the aforementioned methods. © 2020 IEEE.

As the electrified railways, especially high-speed railways, continue to expand, the proportion of traction load in overall power load is increasing significantly. Establishing a traction load model is crucial for the design and operation of traction power supply system (TPSS) and the evaluation of impact on power systems. The paper provides an overview of key issues related to traction loads in electrified railways. It systematically summarizes research trends and achievements on traction load characteristics, models, and modeling methods, as well as their comparability and practicality. Firstly, we analyze the electrical and spatiotemporal characteristics of traction loads. Secondly, based on the modeling requirements and application scenarios of traction loads, this paper classifies and compares existing traction load models. Then, we review the current research status of traction load modeling methods, with a focus on deterministic and uncertainty modeling methods for traction loads. The advantages and disadvantages of various traction load modeling methods are analyzed and compared. Finally, it highlights trends in traction load modeling, including traction load forecasting, multi random variable modeling, data-driven approaches, and integration of AI and IoT. This paper presents a comprehensive survey on traction load modeling, current practices, and future outlook, while providing guidance for selecting appropriate traction load models. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

nuclear energy is playing an increasingly important role on the earth, but the nuclear plants leaves a legacy of radioactive waste pollution, especially uranium-containing pollution. Straw biochar with wide sources, large output, low cost, and easy availability, has emerged as a promising material for uranium extraction from radioactive wastewater, but the natural biomass with suboptimal structure and low content of functional groups limits the efficiency. In this work, microbial etch was first came up to regulate the biochar's structure and function. The surface of the biochar becomes rougher and more microporous, and the mineral contents (Ca, P) indirectly increased by microbial etch. The biochar was modified by calcium phosphate and exhibited a remarkable uranium extraction capacity of 590.8 mg g−1 (fitted value). This work provides a cost-effective and sustainable method for preparing functionalized biochar via microbial etch, which has potential for application to uranium extraction from radioactive wastewater. © 2024

An early fault characteristics analysis method of reactor canned motor pump based on signal enhancement Hilbert transform and complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with optimized adaptive noise

The canned motor pump (CMP) is the key rotating equipment of nuclear reactors, which not only controls the flow of key medium in the primary circuit, but also is an important power equipment of the auxiliary system. In view of the difficulty in identifying the early fault characteristics of the reactor canned motor pump, a method based on complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with optimized adaptive noise (CEEMDOAN) and signal enhancement Hilbert transform (SEHT) is proposed. Firstly, the vibration signal of the canned motor pump is modally decomposed by CEEMDOAN, and the target intrinsic mode function (TIMF) fraction is selected based on the selection criteria of the proposed TIMF and the standard deviation of white noise, so as to complete the noise reduction of the original vibration signal. Secondly, by improving the Hilbert transform (HT) using the designed function with enhanced frequency and amplitude, a SEHT method is proposed to process the TIMF component to analyze the early fault characteristics of the canned motor pump. Finally, simulation and experimental verification are carried out. The results have shown that the proposed method can effectively identify the early fault characteristics of the canned motor pump, which further improves the reliability of the canned motor pump operation, and has better performance than the existing methods.

The energy calibration of LaBr3(Ce) detector is carried out by using the experimental methods of standard radioactive source, K fluorescence X-rays source and crystal diffraction monochromatic X-rays source, and the energy calibration curve is given. The calibration results using K fluorescence X-rays source and crystal diffraction monochromatic X-rays source are close to the calibration results of standard radioactive source, which verifies the rationality and reliability of the two experimental methods for the detector energy linear calibration. Using the fitting formula obtained by K fluorescence X-rays source and crystal diffraction monochromatic X-rays source, the relative error between the energy fitting value and the real value of Pb-210, Am-241, Cd-109 and Co-57 radioactive sources is less than 3.5%. For the detection of the energy range of (30–120) keV, the LaBr3(Ce) detector can basically determine the energy of the measured ray.

Inventory Control Strategy and Transient Control Characteristics of 5 Mw Small Modular Supercritical Co2 Brayton-Cycle Reactor System

Based on the previously developed 5 MW small modular SCO 2 Brayton cycle reactor system analysis program, a series of model improvements and algorithm optimization were carried out, and the dynamic model of the inventory control system was built. Firstly, the mechanism of the inventory control method is discussed and the transient operating characteristics of system load following under inventory control strategy are analyzed. Finally, the system startup and shutdown control strategy are established. The results show that the volume and initial pressure of the SCO 2 storage tank determine the power regulation range of the inventory control system. The inventory control method and sliding pressure operation can realize load following within the range of 66.7% to 114.1% of the system rated output power. Compared with the bypass control method, inventory control avoids reactor power fluctuation and rotor speed rise and has an absolute advantage in maintaining cycle efficiency. The stepped startup strategy can ensure that the system reaches the rated power within 90 min. A reasonable startup and shutdown control strategy can ensure that the main parameters of the reactor do not exceed the nuclear safety limit and that the compressor operation curve is within the surge margin. © 2022, The Authors.
