Acrylonitrile (AN) was radically copolymerized with styrene (ST) or α-methylstyrene (MS) to prepare bipolymers with different compositions. All three comonomers were used to prepare terpolymers with different compositions. The three kinds of copolymers were mixed to prepare polymer blends. Statistical analysis of data derived from nuclear magnetic resonance (NMr) spectra of the polymer blends was conducted to determine the blending parameters, such as the chemical composition and mole fraction of the component copolymers. Partial least-squares (PLS) regression and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression were used as the exploratory techniques. The use of 1H NMr spectral data as explanatory variables showed poor prediction, probably because of low resolution due to the narrow spectral width. Accordingly, 13C NMr spectra, which have wider spectral widths, were used as the explanatory variables, resulting in the successful prediction of the blending parameters of the terblends containing a terpolymer as a component. It should be noted that it was not necessary to obtain the NMr spectra of all the polymer blends as the explanatory variables, i.e., linear combinations of the NMr spectra of the component copolymers were sufficient. © 2024, The Authors. Artifacts in images are significant challenges in many fields and degrade the quality and reliability of data analysis. Existing methods for artifact removal face a problem of complex and diverse artifacts, limiting their effectiveness. Traditional techniques for removing artifacts have a problem with low adaptability to different types of artifacts and can sometimes delete important features of an image. The artifact removal method takes the concept of GANs into use to remove artifacts within the adversarial training model from images. It rectifies the issues stated previously through the proposed approach based on training a GAN. The G learns artifact-free versions of the images and the d tells them clean or corrupted ones while the G continues its progression towards artifact removal guided by d. Once it was trained, G had completely removed artifacts in novel unseen images. results prove the superiority of this proposed artifact removal compared with existing approaches across a spectrum of datasets including different forms of artifacts: noise compression, and occlusion results of removing such different kinds of artifacts without sacrificing much the image quality along with preserving other critical features that need removal. Adversarial removal artifacts can be taken as one such error value 112.31 solution in making an improved version of enhancing quality as well as reliability of the image while making applications over the range.

Liver cancer is one of the most common causes of death, and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is the second most common type, usually treated with surgical resection;however, the resectable area is often small, leading to high recurrence. Balloon catheter insertion has been used to alleviate primary CCA symptoms. However, current drug-eluting balloon catheters are unable to provide continuous drug release, resulting in short-term effects and insufficient tumor suppression. Therefore, drug delivery systems and mucoadhesive polymers in drug-eluting balloon catheters have been proposed as alternatives. In this study, we developed paclitaxel (PTX)-loaded, poloxamer-stabilized PLA microparticles (PTX@PPMP) with high drug-loading capacity. We then created a PTX@PPMP-coated balloon catheter using mucoadhesive chitosan (PBCC) through spraying. PTX@PPMP particles were micron sized (1000–1400 nm), exhibited good colloidal stability, and enabled sustained pH-dependent drug release. In CCA cancer cell lines, PPMP did not exhibit significant cytotoxicity, and PTX@PPMP demonstrated an anticancer effect comparable to PTX, even though it had a 16-fold lower efficacy compared to PTX dose. Furthermore, in a xenograft model, the PBCC membrane dose-dependently inhibited the tumor volume without causing acute toxicity. These results indicate that the PBCC, as a novel drug-coated balloon catheter, can improve CCA chemotherapy and have further roles in balloon catheters applications. © 2025 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry

The main objective of this work is to validate the decisions made towards adoption of appropriate instructional methodologies based on the context of a specific region considering the quality of education, the cost of education and the learning outcomes as predominant parameters. The non-deterministic events and uncertain situations that may arise over a long-range period impose a vague and fuzzy environment in the educational system. Investigations have been made to identify suitable educational framework for implementation in the institutions of a specific region in view of these unpredictable events and non-deterministic conditions. Fuzzy decision analysis and rough set theory have been applied to rank the prominent instructional methodologies which are encompassed within each educational framework. Hurwicz rule is adopted to balance the pessimistic and optimistic opinions about the non-deterministic events while validating the merits of the instructional methodologies. Grey relational analysis is carried out while ranking instructional methodologies in a vague environment. In this work, the instructional methodologies are ranked using fuzzy entropy as well as crisp entropy measures and the outcomes of the fuzzy and rough sets-based decision analysis have been validated. © 2024 The Authors

This article covers the research of ad hoc networks and various variations, such as mobile ad hoc networks, wireless mesh networks, and wireless sensor networks. Ad hoc networks allow wireless devices to connect to each other immediately without the need for a centralized Wireless Access Point (WAP). A base station, also known as a WAP device, often controls and directs data transfer among wireless devices. Since nodes in ad hoc networks are continually moving, the concepts of mobile, intelligent, and automotive ad hoc networks are also introduced. This network is open to any node joining or leaving at any moment. Nodes are portable devices that are a member of the network, such as laptops, MP3 players, personal computers, PdAs, and cell phones. Furthermore, the document compares and evaluates the features, limitations, difficulties, benefits, and drawbacks of routing protocols in wireless mesh, mobile ad hoc, and wireless sensor networks. The safety and effectiveness of the various node kinds are the most crucial aspects of ad hoc networks.

Exploring the Surface Kinetic and Electrochemical Behaviors of the Cathode Material Modified with Safety Additives in Lithium-Ion Batteries

The safety of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) particularly in a charged state should be greatly improved by inhibiting the oxygen evolution at electrode surface. The main objective of this study is exploring the surface kinetic and electrochemical behavior of safety additives modified LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 (NMC) cathode material. Two additives (Polymer A and polymer B) are synthesized for the mitigation of thermal runaway without reducing battery performance. The optical measurement reveals that polymer B enhances the generation of peak at larger resonance angle. The accretions of surface heating temperature trigger increased binding constant from 2.7x104 to 4.8x104 M-1s-1. The results demonstrated that the superior irreversible capacity of Sample B ascribed to impeding Li+ transfer because of high cross-linked polymer B whereas, polymer A possibly initiates electrochemical self-polymerization and heating temperatures. Consequently, it forms a secondary protection layer and reduced the heat released from 319 to 110 Jg-1. The soft XAS revealed that upon fully charging the batteries, the un-reacted –NH group of polymer A contributed to spectral changes in sample A. Therefore, owing to the presence of – NH group, the cathode material treated with polymer A could undergo electrochemical reactions in first cycle and form secondary protective layer improved thermal stability and electrochemical performance comparing with cathode modified with polymer B. Therefore, this study investigated the development of optimum and appropriate working conditions for the better batteries performance and its safety. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

There is a lot of research being done on GO lamellar 2d membranes for separating organic solvents and dyes. These membranes are highly sought-after due to their exceptional characteristics. However, existing challenges include inadequate solvent permeability and limited dye rejection capacity due to swelling of membranes. In this study, we proposed a novel technique that employs low-pressure assisted filtration to fabricate nanocomposite membranes using GO and melamine. remarkably, these composite membranes exhibited outstanding separation performance for dyes (≥99.06 %) in organic solvents, regardless of their positive or negative charges or when present in mixtures. The optimum GO-M0.02 nanocomposite membrane exhibits impressive organic solvent flux, attaining a value as high as 50.8 L/m2h (acetone), which is 6.57 times greater than that of the pure GO membrane. Furthermore, these GO-Melamine nanocomposite membranes showed excellent durability against both common and harsh organic solvents, and the flux of solvents through the GO-M0.02 nanocomposite membrane remained almost unchanged even after being immersed in methanol for up to one week. Additionally, the membrane exhibited consistent solvent flux and rejection rates for methyl green during continuous filtration. These results highlight the exceptional stability and immense potential of GO-melamine nanocomposite membranes for real organic solvent nanofiltration. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in smart grids (SGs) facilitates detailed energy usage monitoring and load forecasting, but it faces drawbacks related to data accuracy and error rates in measurements. These inaccuracies can lead to flawed load predictions and inefficiencies in power distribution. Moreover, the reliability of AMI systems can be compromised by errors in data transmission and processing. To overcome these drawbacks, this manuscript proposes an AMI with power distribution in SG for short-term load prediction using rBAGCN- CMPA approach. The data are collected from historical dataset of Taiwan. Subsequently, the data are given to pre-processing. In pre-processing, removes the missing values and normalization in the data utilizing Maximum Correntropy Quaternion Kalman Filter (MCQKF). The pre-processed output was fed to feature selection using High Level Target Navigation Pigeon Inspired Optimization (HLTNPIO) has selecting features of historical dataset. After selection the output was fed to relational Bi-level Aggregation Graph Convolutional Network (rBAGCN) for predicting short-term three phase load of SG. The Coronavirus Mask protection Algorithm (CMPA) is used to enhance the weight structure of rBAGCN. The proposed rBAGCN-CMPA is utilized within the MATLAB platform. Performance metrics including precision, accuracy, recall and root Mean Squared Error (rMSE), were examined in order to determine the proposed method. The proposed rBAGCN-CMPA technique yield 23.70%, 23.21%, 25.52% high accuracy, 21.17%, 25.22%, 25.35% high recall and lower rMSE when analysed the existing methods. The proposed rBAGCN-CMPA method is compared with the existing approaches for instance Long Short-Term Memory Network (LSTMN), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and Multi Perceptron (MLP), respectively.

Amid technological advances, rising energy demand, and environmental concerns, countries endorse green energy solutions. Prominent among them is hydrogen production via clean water electrolysis, a key strategy for sustainable development. Herein, to address the limitations of expensive and potentially harmful Nafion membranes, we have developed a new graphene oxide (GO) series membranes (hydrophilic sulfonated GO (GO-SO3H) linked with monovalent alkali metal ions were synthesized to fabricate the membranes) to be used in water electrolysis for hydrogen production by introducing the iodide oxidation reaction (IOr) as an alternative to the traditional oxygen evolution reaction (OEr). Various modifications by sulfuric acid, methanol, and different alkali metal hydroxides (LiOH, NaOH, KOH) result in membranes with distinct properties. Characterization techniques, including ATr-FTIr, SEM, AFM, Xrd, water contact angle (WCA), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), validated the modifications, assessed membrane morphology, interlayer spacing, hydrophilicity, and electrical properties. Among the membranes, GO-SO3K stood out, exhibiting the highest proton conductivity (119.16 mS) and superior potassium ion permeability (20.382 cm/s). Importantly, all GO series membranes demonstrate excellent stability in the electrochemical system. The findings suggested that GO-SO3K holds promise as a potassium ion-conductive membrane for efficient and sustainable hydrogen production, offering a viable alternative to conventional Nafion membranes in water electrolysis applications. © 2024

Combined heat and electric power energy networks are common as multi-energy systems and its optimal operation is a hot topic. The goals of this manuscript is to achieve the optimal heat and power flow for the coupling network with tree-topology heat network and dC power network. The study aims to minimize the total deviations between user setting points and building indoor temperatures, decrease total energy consumption and cost. An optimization model is proposed using a steady-state method. The effectiveness of this method is proved by simulation results. Optimal operational schedule is obtained which can considers the complexity of the combined heat and electric networks. © 2021 IEEE
