In today's wireless communication networks, the primary objective is to attain extremely high data transfer rates to meet the ever-increasing demands. The robust 5G standards will enable data transfer rates comparable to the speed of light, seamless connections, large data capacities, and extremely low latency. The proposed antenna is a circular ring powered by a 50-ohm feeding strip printed on the underside of a rogers rT duroid substrate with a flawed ground plane. The proposed radiating structure resonates in two frequency bands: one from 20 to 24.5 GHz and the other from 42 to 46.5 GHz. The respective center frequencies of each band are 22,25 GHz and 44,25 GHz. due to the bandwidth of 4.5 GHz, can experience almost unimaginable speeds on the dual bands. It is possible to attain maximum gains of 6 dBi and 11 dBi while maintaining an efficiency of greater than 95% across dual bands. Future 5G millimeter-wave wireless communication systems may face formidable competition from the antenna in the future.

Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) is an additive manufacturing process based on Material Extrusion (MEX) of polymeric filament. This manufacturing technology is commonly used for personalized production applications and prototyping, allowing to obtain customized parts with complex geometries at a low cost. However, this production technique has its limitations regarding dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of the final parts. To overcome these limitations, finish milling is considered to be a promising technique as it is widely used for metallic parts. Yet, the specific thermal properties of polymers such as low thermal conductivity and low melting temperature are adding a challenge in the determination of optimal cutting conditions. In this context, the use of cutting fluid could be the key to keep the material from melting during milling. Therefore, this paper proposes to compare the impact of using a compressed air flow to dry conditions on the cutting forces and the surface quality obtained on 3d-printed polylactide (PLA) parts. The qualification test of the tool-material couple standard (NF E 66-520-6) will be used as a guideline to determine the relevance of cutting fluid use for cutting conditions varying around an operating point. Moreover, simulated cutting forces using a mechanistic model will be compared to experimental data to evaluate the applicability of the model.

Scuba diving is a common aquatic leisure sport that many individuals enjoy in the sea. With the increasing number of people participating, there is a corresponding rise in related incidents and accidents. Typically, such events are caused by inadequate user proficiency with equipment, sudden onset of physical symptoms, failure to respond to external obstacles, and equipment malfunctions. As interest in scuba diving grows, the development of diver safety equipment that enhances convenience and usability through the interaction between divers and equipment is crucial, not only to assist underwater activities but also to preemptively prevent accidents. This paper explores the analysis of divers' physiological conditions and diver equipment evaluation criteria. Building upon this, it proposes a HrI(Human-robot Interaction) evaluation system to facilitate the research and development of safety equipment for secure scuba diving operations.

Solving partial differential equations for extremely large-scale systems within a feasible computation time serves in accelerating engineering developments. Quantum computing algorithms, particularly the Hamiltonian simulations, present a potential and promising approach to achieve this purpose. Actually, there are several oracle-based Hamiltonian simulations with potential quantum speedup, but their detailed implementations and accordingly the detailed computational complexities are all unclear. This paper presents a method that enables us to explicitly implement the quantum circuit for Hamiltonian simulation;the key technique is the explicit gate construction of differential operators contained in the target partial differential equation discretized by the finite difference method. Moreover, we show that the space and time complexities of the constructed circuit are exponentially smaller than those of conventional classical algorithms. We also provide numerical experiments and an experiment on a real device for the wave equation to demonstrate the validity of our proposed method. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Partial differential equations (PdEs) are crucial for modeling various physical phenomena such as heat transfer, fluid flow, and electromagnetic waves. In computer-aided engineering (CAE), the ability to handle fine resolutions and large computational models is essential for improving product performance and reducing development costs. However, solving large-scale PdEs, particularly for systems with spatially varying material properties, poses significant computational challenges. In this paper, we propose a quantum algorithm for solving second-order linear PdEs of non-conservative systems with spatially varying parameters, using the linear combination of Hamiltonian simulation (LCHS) method. Our approach transforms those PdEs into ordinary differential equations represented by qubit operators, through spatial discretization using the finite difference method. Then, we provide an algorithm that efficiently constructs the operator corresponding to the spatially varying parameters of PdEs via a logic minimization technique, which reduces the number of terms and subsequently the circuit depth. We also develop a scalable method for realizing a quantum circuit for LCHS, using a tensor-network-based technique, specifically a matrix product state (MPS). We validate our method with applications to the acoustic equation with spatially varying parameters and the dissipative heat equation. Our approach includes a detailed recipe for constructing quantum circuits for PdEs, leveraging efficient encoding of spatially varying parameters of PdEs and scalable implementation of LCHS, which we believe marks a significant step towards advancing quantum computing’s role in solving practical engineering problems. Although membrane separation processes including pervaporation have demonstrated their as an efficiency in chemical waste treatment and resource recovery, the increasingly complex wastes generated by different industrial sectors make it almost impossible for a single membrane that has a fixed set of properties to handler these kinds of contaminants. For this reason, stimuli responsive membranes that have tunable and switchable properties are necessary to be developed. In this research, we explore the impacts of zwitterion compounds as additives to previously formulated PVdF-graphene membrane where graphene was used to facilitate β-phase induction of PVdF, enhancing its piezoelectric properties. The incorporation of zwitterions intended to even promote the β -crystal phase of PVdF, which is also facilitated by an optimized quantity of graphene. The quantified β phase of pristine PVdF- (68.7 %) was observed to increase to 79.4 %-86.32 %, when different zwitterions are added. Moreover, output voltages from piezoelectric testing of membranes under various weights generated a voltage signal up to 1.69 V for the membrane with the 3-(1-Pyridinio-1-propanesulfonate) zwitterion, named as PG_zc membrane. Upon employing these membranes to dehydrate isopropanol by pervaporation, it was found out that PG shows a permeation flux (Pf) of 95.49 ± 9.18 g/m²h and 77 % water concentration in permeate (Wc_p) while the PG_zc.membrane displayed a Pf and Wc_p of 988.84 ± 51 g/m²h and 30 %, respectively. But upon application of an external voltage, it was found out that PG_zc's Wc_p rises from 30 % to 83 % with increasing voltage and while the Pf gradually falls from 988.84 ± 51 g/m²h to 432.51 ± 19 g/m²h. These findings indicate that the addition of an appropriate zwitterion could significantly influence the piezoelectric properties of PVdF-graphene membranes, enhancing their tuning cap

The quantum channel decomposition techniques, which contain the so-called probabilistic error cancellation and gate or wire cutting, are a powerful approach for simulating a hard-to-implement (or an ideal) unitary operation by concurrently executing relatively easy-to-implement (or noisy) quantum channels. However, such virtual simulation necessitates an exponentially large number of decompositions, thereby significantly limiting their practical applicability. This paper proposes a channel decomposition method for target unitaries that have their input and output conditioned on specific quantum states, namely, unitaries with pre- and postselection. Specifically, we explicitly determine the requisite number of decomposing channels, which could be significantly smaller than the selection-free scenario. Furthermore, we elucidate the structure of the resulting decomposed unitary. We demonstrate an application of this approach to the quantum linear solver algorithm, highlighting the efficacy of the proposed method.

Modified cyclodextrins (Cds) are cyclic oligosaccharides with many applications in drug delivery, catalysis, and as active pharmaceutical ingredients. In general, they exist as distributions of structurally diverse molecules rather than single-isomer compounds. Their performance depends on the number of glucopyranose units (GPUs), and the type, number, and position of chemical substitutions in their hydroxyl groups. Effectively targeting individual species within these distributions is essential for optimizing Cds for specific applications. Computational techniques can generate large datasets to AI-driven structural optimization, but the absence of a standardized nomenclature system for modified Cds presents a major barrier to progress in this direction. This lack of consensus limits effective communication, data sharing, automation, and collaboration. To address this, a clear and extensible nomenclature for modified Cds is proposed. In this framework, GPUs are treated like amino-acid residues, with unsubstituted GPUs as reference building-blocks and substituted ones considered as mutations. This approach precisely defines substitution types and patterns, resolves cyclic permutation ambiguities, and offers versatility for both simple and complex modifications, including chiral center alterations and covalently linked Cd oligomers. By introducing this standardized nomenclature, we aim to enhance molecular design, improve reproducibility, and streamline both experimental and computational research in the Cd field. © 2025, The Authors. The accuracy of industrial robot kinematics parameters directly affects its absolute positioning accuracy. Based on Modify denavit-Hartenberg (Md-H) kinematics theory, a more accurate calibration method for kinematic parameters of industrial robots is proposed in this paper. It takes the kinematics parameters, deceleration ratio and coupling coefficient of the robot as error parameters to establish the error model. The calibration experiment and accuracy verification experiment are designed by laser tracker. After the introduction of the reduction ratio and the coupling coefficient calibration, the absolute positioning error of the robot in all directions has been greatly improved, and the overall average accuracy of the robot is increased by 91.42% compared with the uncalibrated, and is increased by 81.02% compared with the without introducing the deceleration ratio and coupling coefficient. © 2020 IEEE.

The incorporation of edge computing has become essential in the big data and Internet of Things age to tackle issues related to latency, real-time processing, and data scale. This paper delves into the imperative need for edge computing within the context of big data environments. distributed deep learning methodologies are explored, encompassing a diverse array of deep learning models. Particularly, a novel paradigm named data Forwarding based decentralized deep Neural Network (dF-ddNN) is introduced to achieve low latency IoT-Edge computation. In order to reduce latency in Io T ecosystems, the dF-ddNN model makes use of edge devices’ processing capabilities. By strategically distributing data processing and computation at the edge, this model seeks to overcome inherent limitations of conventional Io T architectures, with a keen focus on network, processing, and overall latencies. The research provides a thorough performance evaluation that compares the dF-ddNN model’s performance versus conventional IoT models in a number of areas. The outcomes demonstrate how much better the suggested dF-ddNN model is than traditional IoT systems. Notably, improvements are evident in terms of reduced network latency, accelerated processing speeds, and overall latency mitigation. This research underscores the critical importance of embracing edge computing in the context of big data and deep learning applications. The dF-ddNN model emerges as a promising avenue for advancing IoT-Edge computation, effectively addressing latency concerns and augmenting the performance of IoT-enabled systems.
