作者: K. Vinisha J. Ramadas K. Vinisha has a master’s degree in environmental science and a bachelor’s degree in education from Bangalore University. She has taught at both the primary and secondary school levels in Mumbai and Bangalore. Her research interests are environmental and science education and gender studies. She has participated in research projects that analysed textbooks for content enrichment pertaining to the environment. At the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Mumbai she studied aspects of gender represented in school textbooks and prepared resource material for teachers at the primary level. E-mail: J. Ramadas is Professor of science education and Centre Director of the HBCSE TIFR Mumbai India. She received an M.Sc. in physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 1976 and a Ph.D. in science education from the HBCSE in 1981. Professor Ramadas is interested in cognitive studies of science learning and school science curricula. She led the development of the Homi Bhabha Curriculum for Primary Science titled ‘Small Science’ published in four languages for which she was awarded the Third World Academy of Sciences Regional Prize in 2011. Professor Ramadas served on the National Curriculum Framework 2005 Science Focus Group. She is a member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) International Commission on Physics Education.
