This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the 'performing Scalable Inference' technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. Quantification of Litter in Cities Using a Smartphone Application and Citizen science in Conjunction with Deep Learning-Based Image Processing

We aimed to classify and quantify the abundance of litter in cities, which is a major source of marine plastic pollution, using citizen science combined with deep learning-based image processing. The project to collect image data including street litter through the smartphone application Pirika was launched in May 2018 and is ongoing and the total number of submitted images has reached one million. Of these, it was visually confirmed that images with clearly distinguished street litter accounted for approximately 30% of all images. Visual classification revealed that the most common types of litter were cans, followed by plastic bags, plastic bottles, cigarette butts, cigarette boxes, and masks. The top six categories account for approximately 80% of the total and the top three categories account for more than 60% of the total imaged litter. Based on these results, a classifier capable of classifying and quantifying these six litter types was constructed using image processing based on deep learning trained using the submitted images. This model was validated using images unused for training. The results revealed that both precision and recall derived from our model were higher than 75%. The quantity of litter derived from automated image processing was also plotted on a map using location data acquired concurrently with the images by the smartphone application. Therefore, we demonstrated that citizen science supported by smartphone applications and deep learning-based image processing is capable of visualizing/quantifying street litter in cities. © 2023, The Authors. Population diversity management is crucial for the quality of solutions in Evolutionary Algorithms. Many techniques require assistance to handle diverse problem characteristics and may prematurely converge in local optima. Maintaining diversity enables the algorithm to search the space and produce better results effectively. Parallel models are a common approach to preserving diversity;however, design decisions affect optimization process characteristics. For example, the Island model’s migration policy affects convergence speed. This study proposes and evaluates a fitness-based migration policy for the Biased Random-Key Genetic Algorithm (BRKGA) and compares it to two traditional strategies. The results in continuous search spaces demonstrate that the proposed policy can enhance BRKGA optimization with appropriate parameters. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Tooth radiation dosimetry using an in-vivo electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometer serves as a triage method for victims in large-scale radiation emergencies, such as the Fukushima and Chernobyl accidents. However, the victim’s breathing and movement during in-vivo measurements cause signal loss and uncertainty in the radiation-induced signal (RIS). This study aims to address these issues by developing a wearable resonator for a tooth. Using ANSYS HFSS, the dimensions and configuration of an attachable surface coil were optimized by calculating the magnetic field distribution in the enamel volume of a 3D incisor model. The magnetic energy concentration on the tooth enamel was maximized by the attachable surface coil, which had a 5 mm inner diameter and a 0.7 mm trace width at a given microwave power. The configured wearable resonator produced a constant RIS amplitude with a ±2.0% variation from an exposed tooth sample, even with a 2 mm movement along the central axis. Additionally, secure fixation of the wearable resonator resulted in significant stability, showing a relatively low uncertainty of 1.2% in the RIS amplitude. The wearable resonator also achieved an ~8.4% increase in RIS amplitude by concentrating more magnetic energy on the tooth sample compared to a conventional rigid resonator. This enhancement improved the accuracy and sensitivity of in-vivo tooth dosimetry. In conjunction with an automatic control circuit (ACC), the wearable resonator acquired undistorted in-vivo EPR spectra, thereby significantly reducing the need for manual intervention to reset the device due to the in-vivo motion. Nano-fillers integrated into mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) present promising alternatives for organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN). In this work, our objective is to enhance OSN performance by incorporating terephthalate metal-organic frameworks (M-BDC, where M = Zr or Cu) into a P84 matrix to fabricate M-BDC/P84 composite MMMs. This work focuses on the influence of metal cluster variation on particle size, pore size distribution, and specific surface area of M-BDC, while systematically investigating the impact of M-BDC addition on OSN performance and underlying separation mechanisms. The synthesized membranes underwent comprehensive characterization using SEM, XRD, ATR-FTIR, contact angle, zeta potential, and thermogravimetric analysis. Significantly, all MMMs exhibited superior permeance and methyl blue (MB) rejection compared to P84 membranes. This enhancement is attributed to the improved interfacial contact between M-BDC and P84, as well as their effective dispersion within the membrane matrix. Interestingly, comparative analysis between Cu-BDC/P84 and Zr-BDC/P84 MMMs revealed the latter's superior permeance, attributed to its larger pore size and surface area. The resulting MMMs demonstrated outstanding MB rejection (>96.7%) with ethanol permeance of 21.5 and 19.0 LMH/Bar for Zr-BDC/P84 and Cu-BDC/P84 MMMs, respectively. Furthermore, the stable performance of M-BDC-based MMMs during prolonged MB/ethanol operation underscores their potential significance in the field of OSN, providing valuable insights for future membrane design and application. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

Two new non-withanolidal steroids with a cross-conjugated dienone structural unit in ring A, capnesterones A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the soft coral Capnella imbricata in the southeast waters of Taiwan. The compounds' structures were elucidated through a comprehensive analysis of spectroscopic data, including IR, ESIMS, ¹H NMR, and ¹³C NMR, and through comparison with previous literature. At a concentration of 10 μM, steroids 1 and 2 exhibited reductions in iNOS levels (60 % and 82 %) compared to LPS-stimulated control cells, along with increased release (134 % and 110 %) against COX-2 protein expressions. © 2024 Phytochemical Society of Europe

Modeling complex, nonlinear ecosystem processes across different timescales presents a significant challenge. We identify two key issues: selecting a representative timestep that captures interconnected processes across various timescales, and simulating these processes in an appropriate sequence. By synthesizing existing ecosystem frameworks, we find shared compromises between biological realism and computational performance. For the representative timestep, these include ‘selective elimination of timescales’, ‘biting the bullet’, ‘each in their own time’, and ‘capture the unseen’. For processing order, we identify hierarchical, logical, iterative, and random approaches. Similar challenges exist in other disciplines, and we show how transferring methods from multiple fields, along with smarter computing, can improve timescale integration. Overcoming these challenges requires innovative transdisciplinary solutions, and we outline directions for future research. © 2025 The Authors

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), an antioxidant and cell signaling molecule, plays a critical role in redox reactions in the biological system, and its imbalances in blood levels have been implicated in various diseases. Here, we demonstrate a novel chemosensor-based "turn-on" electrochemiluminescence (ECL) system for the selective and sensitive detection of H2S in a type 1 diabetes rat model. Our luminogenic chemosensor (Probe) is a redox-stable cyclometalating iridium (III) complex with emission-quenching 2,4-dinitrophenyl ether (DNP) that shows a significant enhancement in emission intensity upon cleavage of DNP by selective reaction towards H2S. To achieve robust and reliable ECL emission of Probe for biological analysis, we developed a facile deproteinization protocol based on organic solvent-induced protein precipitation/syringe filtration that eliminates uncontrolled protein adsorption on the electrode surface from protein-rich biological samples. Our deproteinization-assisted ECL chemosensor system showed effectiveness in detecting disease-associated H2S levels in biological media with a linear response in the range of 0-250 µM (R2: 0.992), the limit of detection of 7.2 µM, and average signal-to-noise ratio of ~25. It enables reliable in vitro monitoring of H2S level changes in blood samples of a type 1 diabetes rat model. This strategy to integrate chemosensor-based ECL and facile deproteinization protocol provides a sensitive and rapid disease-monitoring platform for detecting small-molecule biomarkers that cannot be detected by conventional ECL sandwich immunoassays. © 2023, The Authors.
