Elevated temperature-driven coordinative reconstruction of an unsaturated single-Ni-atom structure with low valency on a polymer-derived matrix for the electrolytic oxygen evolution reaction

A high-temperature pyrolysis-controlled coordination reconstruction resulted in a single-Ni-atom structure with a Ni-Nx-C structural unit (x = N atom coordinated to Ni). Pyrolysis of Ni-phen@ZIF-8-RF at 700 °C resulted in NiNP-NC-700 with predominantly Ni nanoparticles. Upon elevating the pyrolysis temperature from 700 to 900 °C, a coordination reconstruction offers Ni-Nx atomic sites in NiSA-NC-900. A combined investigation with X-ray absorption spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and soft X-ray L3-edge spectroscopy suggests the stabilization of low-valent Niδ+ (0 −2 was achieved. The cell potential recorded with Pt(−)/(+)NiSA-NC-900/NF was much lower than that obtained for other cells, i.e., Pt(−)/NF and NF(−)/(+)NF, which enhances the potentials of low-valent NiSAs for insightful understanding of the OER. At a constant applied potential of 1.61 V (vs. RHE) for 12 h, an small increase in current for initial 0.6 h followed by a constant current depicts the fair stability of catalyst for 12 h. Our results offer an insightful angle into the OER with a coordinatively reconstructed single-Ni-atom structure at lower valency ( © 2024 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

The need to effectively remove toxic organic dyes from aquatic systems has become an increasingly critical issue in the recent years. In pursuit of this objective, polydopamine (PDA)-binary ZIF-8/UiO-66 (MOFs) was synthesized and incorporated into cellulose acetate (CA), producing ZIF-8/UiO-66/PDA@CA composite nanofibers under meticulously optimized conditions. The potential of fabricated nanofibers to remove cationic methylene blue (MB) dye was investigated. Various analysis tools including FTIR, XRD, SEM, zeta potential, BET, tensile strength testing, and XPS were employed. Results revealed a substantial leap in tensile strength, with ZIF-8/UiO-66/PDA@CA registering an impressive 2.8 MPa, as a marked improvement over the neat CA nanofibers (1.1 MPa). ZIF-8/UiO-66/PDA@CA nanofibers exhibit an outstanding adsorption capacity of 82 mg/g, notably outperforming the 22.4 mg/g capacity of neat CA nanofibers. In binary dye systems, these nanofibers exhibit a striking maximum adsorption capacity of 108 mg/g, establishing their eminence in addressing the complexities of wastewater treatment. Furthermore, the adsorption data fitted to the Langmuir isotherm, and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The fabricated nanofiber demonstrates good reproducibility and durability, consistently upholding its performance over five cycles. This suite of remarkable attributes collectively underscores its potential as a robust, durable, and highly promising solution for the effective and efficient removal of pernicious MB dye, in the context of both water quality improvement and environmental preservation. Health education aims to change unhealthy behaviors and promote population health. However, limited teaching time and standardized materials pose challenges, prompting elementary school teachers to explore technology-enhanced teaching strategies. To cultivate proper health attitudes and behaviors among elementary school students, many researchers have widely used e-books to teach health education-related courses. Many studies have proven interactive e-books to be effective in aiding both teaching and learning. However, despite the continuous innovation of e-books in educational applications, the long-term effects of e-books have yet to be investigated, since learning memory only responds to short-term memory effects. Therefore, this study attempts to develop a sequential multi-level prompting strategy for e-book learning in a mobile learning environment for tablet computers. Students from two primary school classes were recruited for the empirical study. The experimental group used a sequential multi-level, prompting-based e-book to learn, while the control group used a conventional e-book learning approach. According to the study’s results, the proposed learning strategies were found to improve the learning achievement of primary school students for cardiovascular disease, guide students in building knowledge, develop thinking and problem-solving skills, and help students transform their learning from short-term to long-term memory through post-testing of problem-solving delays. It is certain that sequential multi-level prompting strategies can help younger learners better understand and remember learning content and apply the knowledge they have gained to develop correct health attitudes. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

The purpose of this research was to design, produce and evaluate a stray child warning system. The device has been designed by using 2 ESP8266 boards to receive signals as specified. The system will notify the information via Line Notify to let users know how far the board that acts as a Client is from the board that acts as an Access Point. Expressed in meters (m) in the notification line notify process. The test results of the system in terms of signal transmission between the Access Point and the Client can work well. Buzzer speaker and LED notification light according to the specified distance every time. Notifications to LINE Notify to mobile phones can be done every time. © 2023 IEEE.

Aluminum metal matrix composites (MMC) are potential materials for many applications due to their outstanding physical and mechanical properties. Reinforcements in the metallic matrix enhance the qualities of stiffness, specific strength, wear, creep, and fatigue when compared to conventional engineering materials. The discussion covered the corrosion behavior of strontium (Sr) reinforced with aluminum–magnesium and aluminum–copper. Utilizing electrochemical studies such electrochemical impedance spectra, linear polarization tests, open-circuit potential, and potentiodynamic tests, the corrosion resistance of the Al-MMC composites created in this study was examined. The linear polarization resistance (LPR) method of the Gamry Reference Potentiostat is used to evaluate the rate of corrosion of different Al-MMCs. Sr is frequently utilized in the casting industry to modify hypoeutectic aluminum–silicon (Al–Si) alloys’ eutectic silicon. Sr has been found to increase the amount and severity of casting faults, particularly porosity and oxide inclusions, according to the reviews that have been done. This study made an effort to assess the effects of the reinforcing material Sr used in the synthesis of Al-MMC on the materials’ corrosion behavior. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Local order metrics for many-particle systems across length scales

Formulating order metrics that sensitively quantify the degree of order/disorder in many-particle systems in d-dimensional Euclidean space Rd across length scales is an outstanding challenge in physics, chemistry, and materials science. Since an infinite set of n-particle correlation functions is required to fully characterize a system, one must settle for a reduced set of structural information, in practice. We initiate a program to use the local number variance σN2(R) associated with a spherical sampling window of radius R (which encodes pair correlations) and an integral measure derived from it ΣN(Ri,Rj) that depends on two specified radial distances Ri and Rj. Across the first three space dimensions (d=1,2,3), we find these metrics can sensitively describe and categorize the degree of order/disorder of 41 different models of antihyperuniform, nonhyperuniform, disordered hyperuniform, and ordered hyperuniform many-particle systems at a specified length scale R. Using our local variance metrics, we demonstrate the importance of assessing order/disorder with respect to a specific value of R. These local order metrics could also aid in the inverse design of structures with prescribed length-scale-specific degrees of order/disorder that yield desired physical properties. In future work, it would be fruitful to explore the use of higher-order moments of the number of points within a spherical window of radius R [S. Torquato et al., Phys. Rev. X 11, 021028 (2021)] to devise even more sensitive order metrics.

The purpose of this research was to develop a power consumer service support system, a case study of the Provincial Electricity Authority, Chumphon Province. By applying the ITIL version 3 operating framework to be applied in conjunction with the geographic information system, the efficiency of the application of the geographic information system was assessed, the quality of the system was assessed by experts and the satisfaction of general users was assessed. This system was developed to increase the efficiency and accuracy of electricity consumer services. receive follow-up notifications request for service and service complaints Able to display statistical reports in geographic information formats resulting in standardized customer service management. Evaluation results of the efficiency of the system in finding and displaying the coordinates of service locations have an average overall efficiency of F-Measure of 92 percent and the quality assessment of experts at a good level with an average of 4.17 deviations. The standard was 0.51 and the satisfaction assessment results of general users were at a good level with an average of 4.35 and a standard deviation of 0.42 from both groups of assessors.
