Bowen ratio (β) is the ratio of sensible heat (H) to latent heat (LE), which reflected the energy balance and partitioning process between soil, vegetation, and atmosphere. Revealing the spatial patterns of β would benefit understanding the variation of energy partitioning in terrestrial ecosystems and its reciprocal relationship with environmental change. Here, we calculated β by integrating sensible and latent heat flux values from 80 flux observation sites based on eddy covariance method in ChinaFLUX to analyze the spatial pattern and dominant factors of β in China. Results showed that terrestrial ecosystems in China had an average β of 0.64±0.47, suggesting the strong regulating effect of ecosystems on the radiative warming in China. β significantly varied with ecosystem types in which desert has the highest β (2.08) while wetland showed the lowest β (0.37). β of terrestrial ecosystems in China showed a significant latitudinal pattern, increasing linearly with the increase of latitude, and showed specific patterns in forest and cropland ecosystems. However, β did not present a clear longitudinal and vertical pattern in different ecosystems except cropland. The spatial pattern of β was dominated by vegetation factors including gross primary productivity (GPP). However, the dominant role of vegetation factors varied with the climate and soil conditions, which showing that the dominant role of GPP gradually decreased from the hot and humid subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest region to the low temperature arid temperate desert region. These findings demonstrated the spatial variation and its mechanism of terrestrial ecosystems β and provided insight into the future of vegetation mitigation of global climate change. © 2023, The Authors. In this article, we provide an extensive overview of a wide range of quantum games and interactive tools that have been employed by the community in recent years. The paper presents selected tools, as described by their developers. The list includes Hello Quantum, Hello Qiskit, Particle in a Box, Psi and Delta, QPlayLearn, Virtual Lab by Quantum Flytrap, Quantum Odyssey, ScienceAtHome, and The Virtual Quantum Optics Laboratory. Additionally, we present events for quantum game development: hackathons, game jams, and semester projects. Furthermore, we discuss the Quantum Technologies Education for Everyone (QUTE4E) pilot project, which illustrates an effective integration of these interactive tools with quantum outreach and education activities. Finally, we aim at providing guidelines for incorporating quantum games and interactive tools in pedagogic materials to make quantum technologies more accessible for a wider population. DeePMD-kit is a powerful open-source software package that facilitates molecular dynamics simulations using machine learning potentials (MLP) known as Deep Potential (DP) models. This package, which was released in 2017, has been widely used in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, and material science for studying atomistic systems. The current version of DeePMD-kit offers numerous advanced features such as DeepPot-SE, attention-based and hybrid descriptors, the ability to fit tensile properties, type embedding, model deviation, Deep Potential - Range Correction (DPRc), Deep Potential Long Range (DPLR), GPU support for customized operators, model compression, non-von Neumann molecular dynamics (NVNMD), and improved usability, including documentation, compiled binary packages, graphical user interfaces (GUI), and application programming interfaces (API). This article presents an overview of the current major version of the DeePMD-kit package, highlighting its features and technical details. Additionally, the article benchmarks the accuracy and efficiency of different models and discusses ongoing developments. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

The GIREP community on teaching and learning quantum physics and the Education section of the Quantum flagship project of the European Union (QTEdu) have brought together different stakeholders in the field of teaching quantum physics on all levels, including outreach. The goal of QTEdu is to pave the way for the training of the future quantum workforce. To this end, it is necessary to understand the needs of the quantum technology (QT) field, make the general public aware of the existence and importance of QT, and introduce quantum physics already in high school, so that high school students can choose QT as their field of study and career. Finally, new university courses need to be established to support emerging specific profiles such as a "quantum engineer". In this symposium, four QTEdu pilot projects were brought together to demonstrate how their complementary approaches have worked towards realising the above goals. © 2023, CC BY.

Objectives: The 12-item Self-Compassion Scale–Short Form (SCS–SF) is a widely used instrument for the assessment of self-compassion. To date, there have been few examinations of this instrument’s psychometric properties, particularly across nations and languages. Therefore, we used data from the Body Image in Nature Survey (BINS) to assess measurement invariance of the SCS–SF across nations, languages, gender identities, and age groups. Methods: Participants (N = 56,968) from 65 nations completed the SCS–SF in 40 languages. Using these data, we tested various hypothesised models of the SCS–SF in the total sample and, using multi-group confirmatory factor analysis, tested for invariance of the optimal model across national groups, languages, gender identities, and age groups. Results: In the total dataset, we found that an 11-item, 2-factor model (i.e., SCS-11) provided best fit to the data, with the two factors tapping distinct constructs of compassionate and uncompassionate self-responding. The SCS-11 was found to be partially scalar invariant across national groups and languages, and fully scalar invariant across gender identities and age groups. There was wide variation in latent means for the two factors, particularly across national groups and languages. Further analyses showed negligible associations between the two factors and sociodemographic variables, including marital status, financial security, and urbanicity. Conclusions: Our results suggest that it may be possible to derive a stable 2-factor model of the SCS–SF for use in cross-cultural research, but also highlight the likelihood of cross-national and cross-linguistic variations in the way that self-compassion is understood. © The Author(s) 2025.

Biomagnetic fluid flow past a stretching/shrinking sheet with slip conditions using lie group analysis

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the boundary layer flow and heat transfer of biomagnetic fluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet in the presence of magnetic dipole. We use Lie group transformation to develop similarity transformation. Using this special form of transformation namely Lie group transformation, the governing nonlinear partial differential equations are reduced into a system of couple nonlinear ordinary differential equations subject to associated boundary conditions. The reduced resulting equation are then solved numerically by using MATLAB routine boundary value problem solver bvp4c. The effects of the pertinent parameters such as ferromagnetic parameter, suction parameter, stretching parameter and momentum slip parameter on the flow field and temperature as well as skin friction coefficient and heat transfer rate are presented and discussed through graphically in this study. Results indicate that the dual solutions exits for some specific range of governing parameter. The results of the present study have been compared with those reported by previous results and found a very good agreement that supports the validity of the present analysis and the accuracy of our numerical computations.

Post-pandemic green recovery is pivotal in achieving global sustainable development goals by simultaneously revitalizing economies and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution and improving public welfare. However, subnational and city-level understanding of green recovery, its efficacy and its alignment with public health is poorly understood. Here we focus on post-COVID-19 low-carbon recovery—economic growth combined with reduced carbon emissions—and explore health co-benefits in Chinese cities. A novel near-real-time daily carbon emission dataset of 48 cities in China is developed, coupled with detailed health and economic municipal statistics and models. We find that, on average, six low-carbon-recovery cities, mainly megacities, saved 1.2 times as many lives per 100,000 population compared with the 42 other cities, and their annual monetary avoided premature deaths per 100,000 population was 1.5 times more than the 42 other cities. The accumulated monetary health co-benefits for low-carbon-recovery cities were US$ 4.2 billion (95% confidence interval, 2.1–6.3) during the post-COVID-19 period. We show that government spending on electric vehicles increases the likelihood of achieving low-carbon recovery in Chinese cities. Our results underscore the significant health co-benefits of low-carbon recovery, pointing to synergies between advancing local welfare and global environmental objectives.

A case study is presented which discusses 31-year old multigravida which was eligible for fetal myelomeningocele (MMC) and mentions that 3D ultrasound acquisition of the fetal lower back was performed gestation and exported n Cartesian Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) format. Fetoscopy simulator secured of Plexiglass base was used for surgical rehearsal. Several Surgical steps included placode dissection and 3D capabilities of ultrasound equipment.
