The advent of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has revolutionized manufacturing and production systems, enhancing efficiency and communication through the integration of advanced technologies such as IoT devices and AI. However, this increased digitization has also led to heightened cybersecurity risks, with a notable rise in the frequency and complexity of cyber-attacks. Cyber Ranges emerges as a critical solution in addressing these challenges, offering a controlled environment for simulating cyber-attack scenarios, training cybersecurity teams, and developing robust defense strategies. The escalating demand for cybersecurity professionals has highlighted the crucial need for effective training solutions. This article presents an open-source Cyber Range constructed on container-based architecture, meticulously engineered for efficient operation with minimal resource consumption. In response to the scarcity of cybersecurity experts, this platform prioritizes extensive scalability and robust isolation between exercises, ensuring secure learning environments, and also integrates a complex developed exercise series aimed at strengthening cybersecurity learning experiences. These exercises encompass a variety of scenarios and challenges, catering to professionals at different skill levels. Each exercise replicates real-world cyber threats, offering practical, hands-on learning opportunities. Additionally, a comprehensive questionnaire accompanies these exercises, designed to gather feedback on participants' experiences.

In the modern world of high-speed technologies, where every operation needs to be performed instantaneously and more efficiently, scientists and engineers have created a Bioinspired algorithm to solve the problems encountered in realworld activities. The Ant Colony optimisation (ACO) algorithm is one such solution that assists in solving the problems of robot path planning. In this work-in-progress article, we propose a new way of using the ACO algorithm which ensures solving the problems encountered in traditional ACO algorithms. This algorithm was tested on two environments to examine output efficiency and computational output time. The results show that the proposed ACO algorithm is completely efficient in small-scale environments and remarkably better results were observed on testing it in the bigger-scale environment. The evaluations prove that the ACO algorithm for path planning can provide rapid path planning with acceptable results and for future development can be integrated with the robot system to test it in any real-world scenarios by increasing the number of ants.

The autonomous number plate detection system plays a crucial role in modern transportation, law enforcement, and security infrastructure. Technical approaches using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision are actively researched to achieve ease of maintenance through real-time vehicle detection. The recent development has drastically improved the accuracy of object detection and recognition systems in deep neural networks. Using these techniques, vehicle number plates can easily be detected autonomously for vehicle identification and tracking. Here, we have used a custom-trained TensorFlow-based number plate detection method to autonomously detect vehicles using images captured by a smartphone, or surveillance camera. It showed an impressive mAP @ 0.5 of 95%, and demonstrated limitations in long-distance detection, leading us to designate it as the optimal vehicle detection model for accuracy. We designed and developed an autonomous number plate detection system for vehicle identification and tracking, which includes web-based, android-based, and embedded-based applications. In addition, we evaluated the proposed autonomous number plate detection system with real-time images and videos. The proposed system achieved real-time vehicle detection and tracking, boasting a commendable 90% detection accuracy.

Background: Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) is a well-established and common orthopedic surgery. Due to the complexity involved in THA, orthopedic surgeons require rigorous training. However, the current gold standard, the tutor-guided and -evaluated apprenticeship model is time-consuming, costly, and poses risks to patients. There is a pressing need for additional training resources to enhance the efficiency and safety of the training process. In this work, we present a novel Augmented Reality (AR)-based simulator designed for THA that helps enable a new self-paced training and learning paradigm without the need for instructors. Methods: The simulator reduces the need for instructors by integrating an AR guidance module and an automated performance evaluation module. Three types of AR guidance were developed: Overlay, Virtual Twin, and Sectional Views. A feasibility study was conducted with five resident surgeons and two senior surgeons to compare these guidance methods quantitatively and qualitatively. The automated performance evaluation module was assessed against manual performance evaluation using Bland-Altman analysis with limits of agreement (LoA) and Mann–Whitney U tests. Results: The quantitative feasibility results indicate the efficacy of the developed AR guidance, characterized by mean transitional and rotational deviation errors below 3 mm and 3 degrees. Based on the qualitative results, we provide recommendations for efficient AR guidance designs. The Bland-Altman analysis results (0.22±1.32mm with LoA −2.37 to 2.81 mm for distance deviation, 0.94±2.41 degrees with LoA −3.78 to 5.66 degrees for yaw deviation, −0.34±1.30 degrees with LoA −2.90 to 2.22 degrees for pitch deviation) and p-values of Mann–Whitney U tests (0.64 for distance deviation, 0.12 for yaw deviation, 0.11 for pitch deviation) indicate no statistically significant differences between the automated and manual performance evaluation at a significance level of 0.05. The paper outlines the divergence of beam and operating wavelength bands effects on free-space optics communication channels in local access networks. The max Q factor and min bit error rate are measured based on the divergence of beam and operating wavelength bands variations. The signal is tested also at the receiver side by using an optical power meter visualizer at various operating signal wavelength bands and under the optimum values of the divergence of the beam. Using Microservice Telemetry Data for System Dynamic Analysis

Microservices bring various benefits to software systems. They also bring decentralization and lose coupling across self-contained system parts. Since these systems likely evolve in a decentralized manner, they need to be monitored to identify when possibly poorly designed extensions deteriorate the overall system quality. For monolith systems, such tasks have been commonly addressed through static analysis. However, given the decentralization and possible language diversity across microservices, static analysis tools are lacking. On the other hand, there are available tools commonly used by practitioners that offer centralized logging, tracing, and metric collection for microservices. In this paper, we assess the opportunity to combine current dynamic analysis tools with anomaly detection in the form of quality metrics and anti-patterns. We develop a tool prototype that we use to assess a large microservice system benchmark demonstrating the feasibility and potential of such an approach. © 2022, CC BY.

Due to its significant applications in magnetic devices for cell separation, magnetic drugs for cancer tumor treatment, blood flow adjustment during surgery, magnetic endoscopy, and fluid pumping in industrial and engineering processes, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) has a wide range of applications. Therefore, the aim of this study to investigate the Relative Magnetic Field and slipping effect on Casson dusty fluid of two-phase fluctuating flow over inclined parallel plate. More exactly, the relative magnetic phenomena are fixed relatively to the plate (MFFRP) or fixed relatively to the fluid (MFFRF). The mathematical modeling was established as the set of partial differential equations for dusty Casson fluid. Buckingham's pi theorem is used to find out the dimensionless variables, to make our system dimensionless. The solution in perturb form is to find out by incorporating Poincare–Lighthill perturbation technique (PLPT). To know in-depth different parameters the graphical results for both velocities are plotted with the help of software Mathcad- 15. It is clearly detected that the relative magnetic field performs a vital part in the fluid as well as particle motion. Moreover, the relative magnetic field play a vital role in the decreasing of skin friction of both plates. © 2023

Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a contagious infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV-2) and it has infected and killed millions of people across the ***: In the absence or inadequate provision of therapeutic treatments of COVID-19 and the limited convenience of diagnostic techniques, there is a necessity for some alternate spontaneous screening systems that can easily be used by the physicians to rapidly recognize and isolate the infected patients to circumvent onward surge. A chest X-ray (CXR) image can effortlessly be used as a substitute modality to diagnose the ***: In this study, we present an automatic COVID-19 diagnostic and severity prediction system (COVIDX) that uses deep feature maps of CXR images along with classical machine learning algorithms to identify COVID-19 and forecast its severity. The proposed system uses a three-phase classification approach (healthy vs unhealthy, COVID-19 vs pneumonia, and COVID-19 severity) using different conventional supervised classification ***: We evaluated COVIDX through 10-fold cross-validation, by using an external validation dataset, and also in a real setting by involving an experienced radiologist. In all the adopted evaluation settings, COVIDX showed strong generalization power and outperforms all the prevailing state-of-the-art methods designed for this ***: Our proposed method (COVIDX), with vivid performance in COVID-19 diagnosis and its severity prediction, can be used as an aiding tool for clinical physicians and radiologists in the diagnosis and follow-up studies of COVID-19 infected ***: We made COVIDX easily accessible through a cloud-based webserver and python code available at https://***/view/wajidarshad/software and https://***/wajidarshad/covidx, respectively.

Microservice Architecture Reconstruction and Visualization Techniques: A Review

Microservice system solutions are now mainstream. The older microservices-based systems are not more than 15 years old, and their architecture is by far different than the one originally designed because of several changes applied to the systems due to the implementation of new features and bug fixing. The evolution of these legacy systems is therefore subjected to degradation. One of the most important methods to identify degradation is being able to reconstruct the software architecture of a system based on the current system running in production. Different methods have been proposed in the past: methods based on the static analysis of the source code of the microservices and methods based on the analysis of the log traces collected at runtime. Both static and dynamic analysis-based methods have their pros ad cons. In this work, we review the existing technologies for static and dynamic architectural reconstruction and related tools adopted to visualize the reconstructed architecture. The result of this work can be useful both to practitioners and researchers that can further develop these methods to provide better support for architectural degradation. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.
