Deep neural networks have been widely and successfully applied to many critical tasks, such as image pattern recognition, natural language processing and autonomous driving, and large amounts of training data and increasing computational power are key factors in their success. Many studies in recent years have shown that deep neural network models face many practical security threats, such as adversarial attacks and backdoor attacks, which can have very serious consequences in the real world. Aiming at the problems of stealth, backdoor trigger design and universality of current backdoor attack methods, a novel method of invisible backdoor attack based on generative adversarial network is proposed. As a backdoor attack method based on data poisoning, inspired by image steganography, this method trains an encoder to generate poisoned samples through generative adversarial network to implement backdoor attack. The secret image used to guide the generation of backdoor triggers does not need to be carefully designed, and the encoder has good generalization ability across datasets. These features not only make its attack effective and stealthy, but also greatly reduce the cost of backdoor. Extensive experimental and analytical results show that the proposed backdoor attack method is effective, stealthy, sustainable and universal. © 2024 IEEE.

The autonomous number plate detection system plays a crucial role in modern transportation, law enforcement, and security infrastructure. Technical approaches using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision are actively researched to achieve ease of maintenance through real-time vehicle detection. The recent development has drastically improved the accuracy of object detection and recognition systems in deep neural networks. Using these techniques, vehicle number plates can easily be detected autonomously for vehicle identification and tracking. Here, we have used a custom-trained TensorFlow-based number plate detection method to autonomously detect vehicles using images captured by a smartphone, or surveillance camera. It showed an impressive mAP @ 0.5 of 95%, and demonstrated limitations in long-distance detection, leading us to designate it as the optimal vehicle detection model for accuracy. We designed and developed an autonomous number plate detection system for vehicle identification and tracking, which includes web-based, android-based, and embedded-based applications. In addition, we evaluated the proposed autonomous number plate detection system with real-time images and videos. The proposed system achieved real-time vehicle detection and tracking, boasting a commendable 90% detection accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Privacy engineering, as an emerging field of research and practice, comprises the technical capabilities and management processes needed to implement, deploy, and operate privacy features and controls in working systems. For that, software practitioners and other stakeholders in software companies need to work cooperatively toward building privacy-preserving businesses and engineering solutions. Significant research has been done to understand the software practitioners' perceptions of information privacy, but more emphasis should be given to the uptake of concrete privacy engineering components. This research delves into the software practitioners' perspectives and mindset, organizational aspects, and current practices on privacy and its engineering processes. A total of 30 practitioners from nine countries and backgrounds were interviewed, sharing their experiences and voicing their opinions on a broad range of privacy topics. The thematic analysis methodology was adopted to code the interview data qualitatively and construct a rich and nuanced thematic framework. As a result, we identified three critical interconnected themes that compose our thematic framework for privacy engineering 'in the wild': (1) personal privacy mindset and stance, categorised into practitioners' privacy knowledge, attitudes and behaviours;(2) organizational privacy aspects, such as decision-power and positive and negative examples of privacy climate;and, (3) privacy engineering practices, such as procedures and controls concretely used in the industry. Among the main findings, this study provides many insights about the state-of-the-practice of privacy engineering, pointing to a positive influence of privacy laws (e.g., EU General Data Protection Regulation) on practitioners' behaviours and organizations' cultures. This paper presents a tool relying on data service architecture, where technical details of all VBS datasets are completely hidden behind an abstract stateless data layer. The data services allow independent development of interactive search interfaces and refinement techniques, which is demonstrated by a smart front-end component. The component supports common search features and allows users to exploit content-based statistics for effective filtering. Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

Infrastructure for smart cities is presently being built, mostly because of the (IoT) platform, which connects a wide variety of things by using the website's underlying infrastructure. As a result, it is possible to employ a uniform platform to automate the services that are delivered. Smart city infrastructure, on the other hand, is susceptible to cyberattacks owing to security flaws in IoT networks. Distributing denial of service (DDoS) and replay assaults, for example, violate the requirements for certification in smart cities. The lack of citations in this part backs up many of the statements it makes. Who needs a citation? Both assaults have the potential to substantially damage smart city infrastructure, which might also cost money and even result in human fatalities. This paper covers the creation of a blended deep- learning algorithm for replay and DDoS intrusion prevention on a growth-oriented smart city platform. This is made possible by combining proven machine-learning approaches with more recent advances in artificial intelligence. We simulate scattered denial of service and replay attacks on three datasets acquired from real-world smart cities to assess the efficacy of the proposed hybrid strategy on environmental, smart river, and smart soil dataset. The suggested model has shown excellent rates of accuracy. The ecosystem collection has an accuracy level of 98.37%, the smart riverbed dataset must have an accuracy of 98.13%, and the smart mud dataset must have an accuracy of 99.51%. The findings demonstrated that the proposed model outperformed past instances of evolutionary computation and machine learning techniques employed in the corpus of academic literature. © 2023 IEEE.

Language acquisition is an integral part of early schooling, but young English language learners struggle to learn vocabulary and syntax since they are not provided with specialized instruction. Conventional teaching may vary according to different learning speeds and it leads to unbalanced levels of proficiency among students and possibly leading to disengagement among slow learners. The present computer-assisted learning aids provide practice interactively but without real-time adaptation and personalized feedback, limiting their capacity to address learners’ unique problems. To overcome these constraints, this study suggests an Artificial Intelligence based personalized learning system that supports vocabulary and syntax learning via adaptive learning models, NLP-based chatbots and gamified interactive lessons. The system dynamically adapts content according to students’ most recent performance in real time to enable a personalized learning experience, which results in efficient Learning. The research has experimental study design, and two groups are considered, an AI-supported learning group and a traditional learning group. Pre-test and post-test design measures the effects of the system on vocabulary recall and syntax correctness. Other learner engagement rates like survey results and qualitative feedback inform learner experience and learning efficacy. Initial results indicate that learners working with the Artificial Intelligence powered learning system gained 25percent in recalling vocabulary and 30percent in syntax accuracy over the control group. Further, learner engagement rates are elevated because of real-time feedback and gamification components. These results emphasize the promise of AI-based personalized learning to boost language acquisition and lay the basis for further effective innovations in adaptive education technologies. © (2025), (science and Information Organization). The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it not only a global health crisis but also an infodemic characterized by the rampant spread of misinformation on social media platforms. In response to the urgent need for effective misinformation detection, this study presents a comprehensive approach harnessing machine learning and deep learning techniques, culminating in ensemble methods, to combat the proliferation of COVID-19 misinformation on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Drawing from a rich dataset comprising user comments on these platforms, encompassing diverse COVID-19-related discussions, our research applies SVM, decision tree, logistic regression, and neural networks to perform in-depth analysis and classification of comments into two categories: positive and negative information. The innovation of our approach lies in the final phase, where we employ ensemble methods to consolidate the strengths of various machine learning and deep learning algorithms. After applying ensemble learning, accuracy reached 91% for Facebook content, 79% for Instagram, 80% for Twitter, and 95% for YouTube. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
