Foundation models(FMs) [1] have revolutionized software development and become the core components of large software systems. This paradigm shift, however, demands fundamental re-imagining of software engineering theories and methodologies [2]. Instead of replacing existing software modules implemented by symbolic logic, incorporating FMs' capabilities to build software systems requires entirely new modules that leverage the unique capabilities of ***, while FMs excel at handling uncertainty, recognizing patterns, and processing unstructured data, we need new engineering theories that support the paradigm shift from explicitly programming and maintaining user-defined symbolic logic to creating rich, expressive requirements that FMs can accurately perceive and implement.

Effect of leading-edge and trailing-edge camber morphing on gust load for an elastic wing

This paper investigates the influence of the spanwise-distributed trailing-edge camber morphing on the dynamic stall characteristics of a finite-span wing at Re=2×10~*** mathematical model of the spanwise-distributed trailing-edge camber morphing is established based on Chebyshev polynomials,and the deformed wing surface is modeled by a spline surface according to the rib's morphing in the chordwise *** Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)method is adopted to obtain flow-field results and aerodynamic *** SST-γmodel is introduced and the overset mesh technique is *** numerical results show that the spanwisedistributed trailing-edge morphing obviously changes the aerodynamic and energy transfer characteristics of the dynamic *** when the phase difference between the trailing-edge motion and the wing pitch is-π/2,the interaction between the three-dimensional(3-D)Leading-Edge Vortex(LEV)and Trailing-Edge Vortex(TEV)is strengthened,and the work done by the aerodynamic force turns *** indicates that the trailing-edge deformation has the potential to suppress the oscillation amplitude of stall *** also found that as the trailing-edge camber morphing varies more complexly along the spanwise direction,the suppression effect decreases accordingly.

This work describes how our abnormal behaviour detection system functions for seniors in their home. Our research is based on the data gathered by a domotic box that is available for purchase. The box was initially intended to continuously detect the owners' daily actions using non-intrusive home automation sensors. The enhancement of the detection of the health changes, deducted by the abnormal behaviour of the user, is closely related to the evolution of the activity recognition of the box. Our system aims to report a relevant context-aware alert to health care service experts. By refining the detection of the activity level of the occupants, we could identify warning manifestations for early intervention. In this paper, we will describe the process of pointing out irregularity in the daily activity pattern of a user or the detection of a malfunction of the box to maintain the accuracy of the service it offers. © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

CASKA-CRT: Chinese Remainder Theorem Empowered Certificateless Aggregate Signcryption Scheme with Key Agreement in IoVs

To enhance the privacy of messages in Internet of Vehicles (IoVs), it is critical to preserve the communication security between Road Side Unit (RSU) and numerous vehicles. The primitive of signcryption is introduced to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity and unforgeability of transmitted messages. Nevertheless, the existing signcryption schemes fail to achieve a balance between security and efficiency. In this paper, we construct a Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) empowered certificateless aggregate signcryption scheme with key agreement (CASKA-CRT). As the vehicle joins and leaves dynamically, the proposed scheme can ensure the dynamic security via one modulo division operation. Besides, the certificateless aggregate signcryption and key agreement mechanisms are embedded. The former idea can both address the certificate management and key escrow problems, while the latter technology can create authentication as a premise of secure communication. Based on this construction, the hash-to-group operation and bilinear pairing are avoided, to realize a faster verification with the increased number of messages. Moreover, the security of proposed scheme is proved under the random oracle model. Finally, the performance analysis demonstrates the advantage of CASKA-CRT in terms of security and reliability over related works. IEEE

Light field super-resolution using complementary-view feature attention

Light field(LF)cameras record multiple perspectives by a sparse sampling of real scenes,and these perspectives provide complementary *** information is beneficial to LF super-resolution(LFSR).Compared with traditional single-image super-resolution,LF can exploit parallax structure and perspective correlation among different LF ***,the performance of existing methods are limited as they fail to deeply explore the complementary information across LF *** this paper,we propose a novel network,called the light field complementary-view feature attention network(LF-CFANet),to improve LFSR by dynamically learning the complementary information in LF ***,we design a residual complementary-view spatial and channel attention module(RCSCAM)to effectively interact with complementary information between complementary ***,RCSCAM captures the relationships between different channels,and it is able to generate informative features for reconstructing LF images while ignoring redundant ***,a maximum-difference information supplementary branch(MDISB)is used to supplement information from the maximum-difference angular positions based on the geometric structure of LF *** branch also can guide the process of *** results on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our *** proposed LF-CFANet has a more advanced reconstruction performance that displays faithful details with higher SR accuracy than state-of-the-art methods.

High dropout rates globally perpetuate educational disparities with various underlying causes. Despite numerous strategies to address this issue, more attention should be given to understanding and addressing student emotions during classes. This lack of focus adversely affects learner engagement and retention rates. While previous studies on online learning have primarily emphasized the effectiveness of technology, infrastructure, cognition, motivation, and economic benefits, there is still a gap in understanding the emotional aspects of distance learning. First, this study addresses this gap by employing thematic modeling and utilizing non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) for emotion recognition through students’ deep learning techniques and facial emotion recognition (FER). Second, statistical analysis of these findings further augments the depth of the study. Finally, the research proposes a mathematical model based on the random walk of emotional state transitions. The findings of this study underscore the importance of considering emotions in distance learning environments and their significant impact on student's academic performance and satisfaction. By acknowledging and addressing these emotional factors, educators can enhance learner engagement, promote positive emotions, mitigate negative emotions during online learning, and ultimately improve the effectiveness of online courses. © 2024 The Authors

ONNXPruner: ONNX-Based General Model Pruning Adapter

Recent advancements in model pruning have focused on developing new algorithms and improving upon benchmarks. However, the practical application of these algorithms across various models and platforms remains a significant challenge. To address this challenge, we propose ONNXPruner, a versatile pruning adapter designed for the ONNX format models. ONNXPruner streamlines the adaptation process across diverse deep learning frameworks and hardware platforms. A novel aspect of ONNXPruner is its use of node association trees, which automatically adapt to various model architectures. These trees clarify the structural relationships between nodes, guiding the pruning process, particularly highlighting the impact on interconnected nodes. Furthermore, we introduce a tree-level evaluation method. By leveraging node association trees, this method allows for a comprehensive analysis beyond traditional single-node evaluations, enhancing pruning performance without the need for extra operations. Experiments across multiple models and datasets confirm ONNXPruner's strong adaptability and increased efficacy. Our work aims to advance the practical application of model pruning. © 1979-2012 IEEE.

The single yarn pullout test is critical for the energy dissipation mechanism research of aramid fabric. This paper conducted both traditional in-plane and out-of-plane tests. The in-plane test utilized digital image correlation (DIC) technique to measure the displacement filed during the pullout process and analyzed the behavior of fabric shear deformation. Three different transverse pre-tension force variables were set for both tests to research the effect of pre-tension force on the pullout load. Comparing the two sets of tests, the results showed that pullout load and fabric energy consumption increased with increasing pre-tension force and the load of out-of-plane pullout was greater under the same experimental conditions. Finally, an explanation was provided for the latter phenomenon. © 2024 SPIE.
