Building performance can be improved by investigating and evaluating previews of occupant behavior. Post-occupancy evaluation (POE) is a design analysis method used to direct and evaluate the physical and social elements of inhabited buildings. In recent years, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing grants student dormitory building to several Indonesian universities. In 2017, Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) Bandar Lampung Indonesia has been granted two of those student facilities. The building has been operated for three years. The student dormitory considered has one type of building that has a high capacity occupation. This research aims to measure user satisfaction and evaluate building facility and its implication to student learning effectively using the POE method, specifically human behavior aspects. During this time, POE is more focused on building physical behavior that includes energy and thermal aspects. In this study, the author tries to raise aspects of human behavior as an essential element supporting the sustainability of the building. The survey conducted using eight variables: territoriality, privacy, interaction, perception, crowdedness, adaptability, durability, and comfortability. This research focuses on measuring only female student dormitories. One hundred eighty-two respondents were involved in the survey. The result shows that the majority of respondents feel quite satisfied with all the variable measure. This finding can be a reference to improve the design consideration for future student dormitory design.

Design of fishing boat for Pelabuhanratu fisherman as one of effort to increase production of capture fisheries. The fishing boat should be proper for the characteristic of its service area, as; capacity of fishing boat up to 60 GT, the fishing boat has minimum 6 fish holds and location of fish hold in the middle body, the fishing boat hull has the bilge keel plate, and the material of hull fishing boat to be made of wooden, steel, aluminium, or fiberglass. Main dimesion of fishing boat is Length Over All = 25.436 m, Breadth = 4.55 m, Draft = 1.6 m, Speed = 12.5 knots. The research had been known every thing that will be supporting the production of capture fisheries like ; amount of fish production = 25.030 ton per day, the fishing port capacity approximately 268.957GT per day, the area of fishing port < 30 hectares, the zone of fish processing industry had not completed, therefore all data research result less than standard of Oceanic Fising Port. So Pelabuhanratu National Fishing Port can not be changed to Oceanic Fishing Port.

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has a spirit to become a Conservation and International Reputation University is realized through strategic missions. One of the conservation-oriented implementation programs is H-BAT (Green, Clean and Healthy) program. In its implementation, there is a problem, namely the achievement of H-BAT program has not been maximized during the last 3 years in assessment. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify of the potential and character of environmental support in the work units; (2) to determine the achievement of the indication of a green campus based on the assessment indicators on H-BAT program. This research was carried out in four stages: (1) Data collection; (2) Spatial data processing; (3) Non Spatial data processing; (4) Analysis (ecological, technical standards); The results achieved in June 2020 are as follows: FT got 87,50%, FE got 85,87%, FMIPA got 81,52%, BUHK got79,49%, FIP got 73,91%, LP3 got 69,23%, LP2M got 63,46%, FIS got 60,33%,PPS got 57,07%, FIK got 56,52%, FH got 52,72%, FBS got 49,46%, TIK got 40,38%, BPB got 34,62%, Library got 30,13%, Archive got 17,31%. From these results, it can be seen that there is a lack of maximum achievement due to, among others, the lack of guidance and technical assistance in the management of the unit. So it is necessary to complete governance guidelines and technical assistance that are more intensive in unit governance to achieve the goals of UNNES as a green campus.

Kampong Naga is one of the traditional villages in Indonesia that still preserves the environment and tradition naturally, while many traditional villages in Indonesia have been eroded by time and lost its original architectural forms that respond to nature and their beliefs. Kampong Naga, located in Tasikmalaya, West Java, is an embodiment of environmental and vernacular architectural arrangements that have been built and maintained for generations by the people. One of the powerful features of vernacular architecture is the existence of cosmological values in their landscapes and layout, both macro (village area) and micro (house). This study uses qualitative methods by processing primary and secondary data to identify Kampong Naga's public buildings' cosmological values such as the Mosque, Balai Adat, Public Baths, and Rice Mill based on the cosmos, castes, cultural customs, shapes, ornament, and the spatial order.

Settlement in Mount Merapi’s slopes possesses a strong local wisdom. The purpose of this study was to look for Local Wisdom reflected on the orientation, and shape of the house in Pelemsari Village that location in the highest settlement in Mount Merapi’s slopes. This research was investigated using qualitative-naturalistic approach. The results of the study showed that the house has madhep ngarep orientation which is meant facing the palace. Additionally, it also affirms to the public perception that the orientation of the house is do not dare facing the mountain. The closet is oriented to avoid facing the Qiblah. The orientation of omah bajang is facing south, so when giving offerings, the giver of offerings will be facing mountain. There are two shapes of a house namely omah sinom (wedok roof house) and omah kampung (lanang roof house). In the placement, the omah kampung is placed behind omah sinom, which has a meaning men allow women to sit on their laps so that the wives have a longer lifespan.

Minangkabau has connection to the founding of the Malayapura Kingdom in Pariangan-Saruaso by Datuk Ketumanggungan (Akarendrawan) and Datuk Parpatih Nan Sabatang (Adityawarman). This kingdom existed after the victory of buffalo fights from the Majapahit Kingdom and the dimming of the Dharmasraya Kingdom (Koto Alang Kingdom) after the attack of Kandis Kingdom. The Dharmasraya was in the region between Hulu-Batanghari (Padang Roco and Sungai Dareh) and Batang Kuantan (Lubuk Jambi - Taluk Kuantan) and eventually became the subordinate kingdom of the Malayapura and subsequently under the Pagaruyung Sultanate as the subordinate territory (Rantau or Hilir or Downstream) of Luhak Tanah Datar (Darek or Hulu or Upstream); one of the central of Luhak Nan Tigo. The relationship between the regions in history and myths may indicate cultural relations, especially in their traditional houses. How are the architectural characteristics of the Rumah Gadang in Dharmasraya and Rumah Godang in Batang Kuantan? This research method is qualitative, by conducting a literature review, field study, to be analyzed architecturally to get a clear conclusion. The results showed the architectural similiarities and linkage between Rumah Gadang in the area of Dharmasraya and Rumah Godang in Batang Kuantan area, especially in their spatial systems and shape-form systems.

We investigate the development of pre-time signal intersection operating systems for isolated intersections using Fuzzy Logic models. The traffic signal system setting in Indonesia has been using the Indonesia Road Capacity Manual model 1997, for example it is installed at the intersection in large cities in Indonesia. The development of the Fuzzy Logic model is focused on improving the performance of the signaled intersection, using a combination of numerical variable analysis used by IRCM 1997, and the linguistic or traffic behavior variable as the basis of the Fuzzy Logic model study. The combination of the two variables in the Fuzzy Logic model analysis is expected to improve the intersection performance. The Fuzzy Logic model process involves the Membership Function theory as the basis for the confidence level of the traffic variable to be surveyed, and the Fuzzy Inference Engine to measure the choice of combinations of variables that will be selected to make the best performance of the intersection. The geometric of intersection must be control as it involves the input of research data, especially on the condition of the intersection legs and markers of motor cycle-special stopping places, which is a potential of a traffic violation by traveller. The model is verified with fuzzified data from 2017 traffic research survey in Bandung. As an illustration of the majority of intersection setting with an isolated pre-time operating system, there are 60 intersection points or 85% of the total 71 intersections available. This would be a potentially major problem when performance improvements is not carried out. The final analysis shows that the number of vehicles queues decreases while the traffic flows passing through the intersection increases, therefore fuzzy logic model is expected to contribute and to give alternative handling for intersection performance with pre-time operational.

Since the 1980s, the Jakarta Metropolitan Area has experienced rapid urbanization, impacting the dynamics of built-up areas and agricultural land. This paper aims to understand the dynamics of rural-urban transition concerning spatial land cover in the last 20 years. The data was obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia, and land system maps. The change in built-up land from 2000 to 2011 showed an increasing trend of converting second-class paddy fields. This situation indicates rapid urbanization is taking place. Meanwhile, the second phase (2011-2019) shows a different pattern of massive change in peri-urban areas due to rural forces and increasingly limited space in the city center, allowing only low-intensity expansion. Peri-urbanization does not necessarily involve large-scale conversion of agricultural land but a shift in regional growth that extends into what used to be rural areas. Retaining more agricultural land around Greater Jakarta provides the dual benefits of providing agricultural products for the city as well as maintaining the region's ecosystem.

Optimisation of shading devices in buildings is a broadly investigated topic;however, most studies only focus on a single facade orientation, since the observed buildings are typically located in high latitude regions. However, in tropical regions, optimisation of all facade orientations is required due to the relatively high solar radiation and long sunshine duration. While adaptive shading devices are a promising solution, they are not without disadvantages, and as such a combination of adaptive shading devices and a fixed shading device shall be considered. This research therefore aims to design the optimum internal shading devices on four facade orientations of a high-rise office building in a tropical city, considering fixed and adaptive shading design options, and to determine the impact on annual daylight performance using computational modelling and simulation. The simulation is carried out under: (1) fixed design option, focusing on the numbers and width of slats;and (2) adaptive design option, focusing on the slat angle on various conditions. It is found that both sDA(300/50%) and ASE(1000,250) are only influenced by the orientation. Under the fixed design option, the sDA(300/50%) and ASE(1000,250) targets can be achieved only on the north and south facades, and accordingly the adaptive design option shall be implemented on the east and west facades. Overall, this study contributes to knowledge regarding the optimisation of shading devices in high-rise buildings in the tropics, considering the daylight admission from the four cardinal orientations.
