The renovation of the St. Yohanes Evangelist Church project located on 197, Melawai Street Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta with a building area about 1480.9 m2 was chosen as a research object because the Church Construction Committee wanted to accelerate the renovation project from 2 years 5 months targeted to 1 year 5 months. This is because the Church of St. John the Evangelist as a place of worship can be immediately used again. The PERT method can be used to manage projects more efficiently and effectively; to be able to know the possibility of accelerating the duration of the project carried out on activities in the critical path and the shortening of the duration of each work on each alternative is equalized. In this study, the critical path compression step of the network using Microsoft Project and the results of the Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) method, obtained a probability of 99.88%, so the renovation project of Saint John Evangelist Church can be an accelerated project to 1 year 5 months.

Transmission of dengue hemorrhagic fever and climate variability in Jakarta

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has become an endemic in major cities in Indonesia. The climate change and poor level of awareness and knowledge of the community in Indonesia have caused an increase in the DHF cases. Outbreaks on January until April 2015, the morbidity rate reached 50.75. In 1996, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicted threefold increase in the dengue hemorrhagic fever incidents in Indonesia by 2070, if the environment and community conditions do not improve. This study aims to provide a dynamic model to predict the dynamics of the DHF incidents based on climate variability in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The design of this study was ecologic study with hypothesis test, modelling, simulation, and intervention. In collecting the data, interview with respondents and measurement of climate variables were conducted. Interviews with respondents include the level of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour (PSP) of the community. Measurements of climate factors include rainfall, temperature, humidity and CO2 level in the ambient environment. The DHF system dynamics model simulation shows that the significant effect on the decline of Breeding Places and the decrease of DHF cases were achieved by increasing the participation of the community to actively control water places that are potential for mosquito breeding places.

An affordable vertical house, which is known as rusun in Indonesian term becomes the utopia of a compact city. The rusun to be the main actor contributing to the creation of liveable comfort in dense areas by relocating squatters and slum inhabitants to better living places. Technical guidelines and building standards play a major role in a building's environmental impact. These standards will be reviewed based on their impact on building performance. There are two prototypes of rusun referenced in 05/PRT/M/2007, and the assessment of these prototypes has been done by using ENVi-met. The meteorological data for the ENVI-met configuration input is adapted to the same weather and climate conditions taken from the data measured on June 13th, 2012. The analysis of this assessment will focus on building orientation, building length, building height, and also the microclimate which is impacted by these prototypes. Based on the assessment, it is recommended that the layout of outdoor space on the north side should provide as much green coverage as possible, either for shadowing or for the benefit of its albedo. The simulation shows that building ratio of 1:3 produces higher wind speed, which also controls air temperature and humidity.

Designing louvers toward optimum daylight performance in Indonesia: a parametric study

architecture has a strong relationship with the daylight universe. It implicates further occupants' behaviour toward visual comforts, healthiness, and energy consumption. The daylight simulation in the early phase of design benefits the architect in predicting the possibilities of daylight-related target goals during the design process. A shading system is one of the strategies in approaching passive design to prevent an excessive amount of undesirable daylight intensity. This paper investigates different sun louvers shading patterns and their relation to the Useful Daylight Illuminance (UDI) in the context of Indonesia, presented by incorporating the EPW file of Jakarta. Parametric and multi-objective optimization has been used to optimize, explore, and map the design possibilities based on the louver shading component as dynamic parameters. Rhinoceros and Grasshopper, as parametric-based modelling software, were used as the primary modelling platform, while the Honeybee and Ladybug plugin were used to undergo the daylight-related environmental analysis. The design exploration iterates 2.160 design solutions with a value of dynamic parameters and the targeted UDI value embedded in each. The results show that the solution founded from iteration process has more areas of illuminance within 300 lx to 500 lx by about 15%.

Biogas : Alternative energy on supporting environmentally coffee shop in Samosir Island

Samosir Island is one of tourism destination in Indonesia and there was an increasing of coffee shop number. This research tries to investigate how much financial profit received by coffee shop if it use biogas as a new energy source. This research had been conducted from April to June 2018. Research parameter were production costs, income, revenue, Benefit Cost Ratio, Revenue Cost Ratio, Return On Investment, Break Even Point, and identify opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses by SWOT analysis to identify whether the community of Samosir is willing to use biogas. The results of financial analysis namely production cost IDR 1,964,500; income of IDR.4,360,000; revenue of IDR. 2,303,000; B/C (%) was 79.7; R/C (%) was 151; ROI (year) of 1.6; BEP Price was IDR. 5,302; BEP Production of 361 glass. By SWOT Analysis it was known that development strategies are taken place include socialize biogas technology, benefits of biogas on energy, fertilizer and soil quality to the community, benefits of biogas in saving fuel purchases and providing biogas stock devices on biogas group. The result showed that biogas was worthy of being used as a new energy source on the coffee shop business on Samosir Island.

The plastic waste problem has become a global problem and the effect on the environment is horrible. Almost all countries make an effort to reduce their daily utilization. Environmental organizations and researchers are also performing research to find ways to recycle plastic waste. In this paper introduces the 'Eco-green Design Concept' to utilize plastic waste (type 2) as fishing boat material. This concept will recycle 3 tonnes of plastic waste into the material of a fishing boat. In addition, the implementation element of eco-green design concept (design quality (D), Environmental Friendly (E), Eco-green Material (G)) into the design of fishing vessels has been successful. The concept does not only utilize type 2 plastic waste into the hull of the ship, but the design of the ship is made to have small resistance, good stability and has a large cargo area. And also has a machine that is environmentally friendly and does not cause pollution.

Educational Tourism Potentials of Argapura Village, Bogor Regency towards Pongkor UNESCO Global Geopark

Argapura is one of the village areas in Cigudeg Subdistrict which has potential unique characteristics for a tourist destination, namely Geopark. Argapura Village is one of the Pongkor National Geopark development villages covering 15 sub-districts in Bogor Regency. Pongkor National Geopark is a unitary space with geodiversity, culturediversity and biodiversity which aims to preserve and protect the wealth of natural resources. The geopark is located very close to tourism activities, but the existing tour has not specifically touched the educational aspect (educational tourism). Educational tourism is a tourism packaging program that is loaded with educational values in each of its activities. Argapura Village needs to be developed educational tourism aimed at all visitors. The objectives of this study were to identify and analyze the potential of educational tourism objects in Argapura Village, and to arrange educational tourism program in Argapura Village. Data collection through literature studies, field surveys and interviews with stakeholders. Data analysis using tables and described based on the criteria of educational values and geopark elements. The results of study showed that Argapura Village has two main potential attractions/educational tourism objects, namely Angklung Gubrag and Gudawang Caves. Angklung Gubrag is an educational tourism attraction that has high cultural, historical and religious values. Gudawang Cave is an educational tourism object in the form of karst ecosystem. In addition to the both of tourism objects, there are several other potential tourism objects and characteristics of the Geopark. The Argapura Village educational tourism was compiled includes two main programs, namely the half-day and the full-day visiting programs.

The effectiveness of Indonesia's fisheries policy to reduce illegal fishing

The sea has economic potential such as marine tourism, energy, maritime industry, marine transportation, marine building and services, and fisheries. Indonesia has fishery resources with high biodiversity and easily accessible (renewable resources). Indonesia's fishery production reached approximately 12.6 million tonnes, of which marine catch accounted for about 6.71 million tonnes, inland capture for 0.51 million tonnes and the rest is in aquacultures. In addition, Indonesia is facing the problem of illegal fishing by foreign fishing vessels from Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and Cambodia. Foreign fishing vessels conducting illegal fishing are not only found in the EEZ, but also in territorial and archipelagic waters. Based on the findings of this study, the illegal fishing policy has a positive impact by reducing illegal fishing activities in the short term and increasing fisheries stocks. However, negative impacts were also found, the national fisheries business has decreased by number, especially local fishermen business, so that fishermen are unable to optimize their capture fisheries activities. Some local fishermen benefit economically from illegal fishing, this is what causes illegal fishing activities to continue. The policies that have been implemented have not been optimal in ensuring that fishermen are more prosperous. A sovereign state not only owns the territory and defends it from foreign disturbances, but must realize the welfare of its people, including fishermen. The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of fisheries policies in Indonesia to tackle illegal fisheries and improve fishermen's welfare. Diversity and Utilization of Bamboo Plants in The Area of Hotel in Kedewatan Village, Ubud, Bali

Bamboo or tiying (Balinese language) is a widely used non-timber plant in Indonesia especially in Bali. The presence of bamboo appertains to its ethno-botanical function of bamboo especially for rituals. However, there are other utilization of bamboo which is naturally grown or intentionally planted. Kedewatan as a famous place in northern Ubud, Bali have many lavish hotels with its natural environment and appealing place. The aims of this study is to invent bamboo species diversity and bamboo utilization on private areas of hotel in Kedewatan. Methods used in this study was field survey with observation and interview technic. Observation was implemented by purposive sampling methods by selecting hotel which adjacent to Ayung and Wos rivers. Interview was conducted with some key persons in charge on managing hotel garden. In addition, bamboo species identification was established through literature study. The results show that there are eleven bamboo species found on the survey area with most commonly employed species in the area were tiying tali (Gigantochloa apus (J.A. & J.H. Schultes) Kurz.) and tiying gading (Phyllostachys sulphurea (Carr.) A. e.t. C. Riv.) which were belong to exotic species. The areas which bamboo cultivated were welcome area as a hedgerow and near hotel lobby, between, outside and inside villa buildings, and naturally grown in the riverbanks with a good landscaping arrangement. Bamboo plantations were utilized to adorn and support the quality of the hotel building as well as to conserve soil and water along Ayung and Wos river canyons. The other utilization of bamboo was to facilitate ritual activity in Kedewatan village. They are allowed to ask for limited amount of bamboo culms with condition not to damage the physical appearance and function that desired by the hotel manager or hotel owner.

Analysis of small island environmental carrying capacity in Panggang Island, Jakarta, Indonesia

To support continuity of life, information on the availability of natural resources is needed. Natural resources need in a region must not exceed their availability. Panggang Island is a small island with an area of 13.76 ha and a population density up to 4,388 people in 2019. The land use of the island is intended as a residential area. With a small area and dense population, the ability of the environment to support life in Panggang Island is concerning. This study aims to determine the carrying capacity of water and land in Panggang Island. Water carrying capacity analysis is carried out by comparing the amount of water resource availability with standard water needs. The Thornthwaite Mather method is applied to calculate the water resource availability. Land carrying capacity analysis is based on a comparison of the amount of actual residential land with minimum space requirements of each individual according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 03-1733-2004). The results showed that Panggang Island has a very low carrying capacity for water and land. The water and land carrying capacity index reaches 0.12 and 0.98 respectively. This shows that the demands of residential land and water in Panggang Island are higher than the resources.
