Prunus species play an important role in preserving the Nepal's unique identity;such as three endemic species of Prunus, Prunus topkegolensis, Prunus jajarkotensis, and Prunus taplejungnica, represent the country's local area. An ecological and social survey of P. topkegolensis and P. taplejungnica was conducted. To analyze these species' regeneration status and population structures, the density of seedlings, saplings, and adult trees were compared, and created a diameter size class diagram. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare the average values of seedlings, saplings, and adult trees between two species. To determine the ethnobotanical importance of a species, the relative frequency of citation (RFC) was calculated for various use categories. We classified both species as trees as the average diameter at breast height (DBH) of P. topkegolensis was 19.55 ± 14.66 cm with an average height 5.05 ± 2.28 m, while that of P. taplejungnica was 14.5 ± 7.93 cm with an average height of 4.89 ± 1.66 m. P. topkegolensis had an average 32 ± 31 adult trees, 16 ± 15 saplings, and 21 ± 18 seedlings per 0.1 ha, while P. taplejungnica had 12 ± 5 adult trees, 2 saplings, and 6 ± 4 seedlings per 0.1 ha. The number of seedlings and saplings at the plot level differed significantly between species (W = 75.5, p- = 0.05, and W = 84, p = 0.01, respectively). Both had humped-shaped diameter at breast height size class distribution. However, P. taplejungnica had a more apparent hump-shaped diameter at breast height distribution than P. topkegolensis, indicating that P. taplejungnica has more unsustainable regeneration issues. P. taplejungnica was locally recognized as a separate species from P. rufa, whereas P. topkegolensis was not. P. topkegolensis have seven different use categories, with wood and fuel wood being the most frequently cited, with RFC value 1. The covid-19 pandemic case has changed the structure of life in all aspects throughout the world. The field of man-made environment or architecture is no exception. The interior arrangement of a building, as part of the man-made environment, is also affected. The interior design of a building today seems to be obliged to participate in following the standards of new health-protocols in the new normal *** about the interior of the building that has already been utilized? Of course it requires further study to find out whether the interior of a building can be said to be healthy or not. This study aims to examine the interior design of the lecturer room E12 building 2nd floor UNNES in terms of health that is emphasized from the behavior of its users by referring to the situation of the covid-19 pandemic and its future prospects. The research method used is by field observations to search visual data, observing user behavior and textual data. Those who are categorized as users of the lecturer room E12 building 2nd floor UNNES are lecturers from the Department of architecture, students, administrators and guests. The results of this study indicate that based on the pattern of user behavior and associated with the standard requirements of space, area, volume of space, material and infrastructure conditions, interior design of lecturer room E12 building 2nd floor UNNES, is included in healthy category, although there are several minor corrections that can be included as suggestions for improvement in order to adjust to the new normal era during the covid-19 pandemic period and thereafter.

The feasibility of BRT corridor VI shelters in Semarang City

Like other big cities in Indonesia, Semarang City as the capital of Central Java Province also has various city problems, one of them is the transportation problem. Transportation problems arise due to increased mobility of society that is not in balanced with the public transportation facilities and infrastructure availability. In order to create a better transportation system, the local government of Semarang City held Trans Semarang bus rapid transit (BRT) which began operating in 2010. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of BRT Trans Semarang corridor VI shelters. This research uses descriptive critique technique. The results are expected to be considered in determining the right policy in creating a better transportation system. Based on observations made, the majority of BRT Trans Semarang corridor VI uses non-permanent shelters and is less feasible to be a BRT shelter. Thus, the local government is expected to improve the feasibility of BRT Trans Semarang shelter so that the sense of security and comfort can be obtained by users of BRT. In addition, the local government is also expected to maintain the quality of services provided. These services include ticket service, the condition of buses, speed and waiting time, as well as the placement and condition of shelters.

Special Region of Yogyakarta is passed by the ring of fire and become a province which prone to disasters, especially earthquake. In 2006, Wonolelo Village was one of the villages hardest hit by the earthquake. Therefore, understanding and awareness of disaster management are important. Currently, disaster management at local is widely applied. According to Van Niekerk, et al (2017), the approach at the local level aims to change the perspective of disaster management in terms of issues, challenges and problems faced by the community. For this reason, Wonolelo Village has a disaster-aware community, the Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (FPRB). The purposes of this research are to identify the processes and factors that influence the success of sustainable CBDM in Wonolelo Village. The method used is qualitative. Based on the analysis, Wonolelo Village has three stages of the disaster management process, namely the identification, the planning and implementation stage, and the development stage. While the factors that influence the success of disaster management in Wonolelo Village are the choice of Wonolelo Village as a Pilot Project by NDMA, recurring disaster events, volunteers who have team awareness, the existence of cooperation culture in the community, and budget allocation from Wonolelo Government for CBDM.

The development of parks in the city of Bandung, especially the northern part, has related to the history of the town of Bandung during the Dutch colonial period. Ijzermanpark (1919) is a park with the best landscape design, with a neat and colorful flower garden design equipped with a fountain garden feature. It changed its name to Ganesha Park after Indonesian independence day. Ganesha Park has continued as a public park that is used for family recreation. The landscape elements in Ganesha Park are also equipped to support this park. This study aims to determine how completely it was developed and how it influenced its function as a public park. The research method using the descriptive qualitative method by identifying and analyzing the phenomena described in the details. From this research, it was found that some elements of the Ganesha Park landscape were preserved, some had been replaced, and some were completely new. These elements become a unitary landscape which is expected to increase the comfort of activities in Ganesha Park.

The impact of building configurations and anthropogenic heat on daily urban air temperature cycles

Urban air temperature reflects the impact of urbanization on thermal and dynamics of urban climate. To understand the physical mechanism of building configurations and anthropogenic heat on daily urban air temperature cycles, an improved lumped urban air temperature model was provided. The surface energy balance equation for the improved and previous lumped urban air temperature model were compared. The effective depth of thermal mass and sub-surface temperature of urban surfaces in the previous model can be determined, which are usually chosen from model studies. These two parameters have a significant impact on the thermal storage. The models were evaluated and applied to the city of Hong Kong. Thermal storage is shown to have significant impact on the amplitude and phase term of daily air temperature cycle. Moreover, the building configurations can affect the solar radiation gain and redistribution in the sub-facets, which indirectly influenced the urban air temperature. The results show that the ventilation rate, building height and plan area ratio play important roles on daily cycle of urban air temperature, while the anthropogenic heat plays a less significant role. The main distinction of the improved model is its simplicity and less computation cost for practice use for engineers and urban planners. Two important parameters are emphasized, relative convective heat transfer number, lambda, and time constant, tau. The two parameters provide some insights on how to control the urban thermal environment in an engineering way.

The Ainu are an Indigenous group currently living primarily in Japan. Following the cultural revitalisation of laws and social movements and the appropriation of new technologies, Ainu communities are increasingly using social media to disseminate their culture. However, research on the Ainu people has rarely discussed their communication strategies in current media. In this study, a total of 428 Ainu-related videos uploaded on YouTube were analysed. Basic information about the videos was obtained through the YouTube application programming interface and additional information was acquired by watching them. The videos were categorised into three groups: those produced only by Ainu people, with Ainu people, or without Ainu collaborators. Statistical and qualitative differences between release and upload dates, keywords, categories, conceptualisers, producers, presenters, YouTube metrics, tags, and video descriptions were used to uncover the different types of content created and/or endorsed by Ainu people and the communication strategies used by them and their allies. The combination of quantitative and qualitative methods based on Indigenous communication approaches adopted in this study proved to be useful in understanding Indigenous media in online contexts.

Background Medicinal plants are the fundamental unit of traditional medicine system in Nepal. Nepalese people are rich in traditional medicine especially in folk medicine (ethnomedicine), and this system is gaining much attention after 1995. The use of medicinal plants has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic as a private behavior (not under the control of government). A lot of misinterpretations of the use of medicinal plants to treat or prevent COVID-19 have been spreading throughout Nepal which need to be managed proactively. In this context, a research was needed to document medicinal plants used, their priority of use in society, their cultivation status, and the source of information people follow to use them. This study aimed to document the present status of medicinal plant use and make important suggestion to the concerned authorities. Methods This study used a web-based survey to collect primary data related to medicinal plants used during COVID-19. A total of 774 respondents took part in the survey. The study calculated the relative frequencies of citation (RFC) for the recorded medicinal plants. The relationship between plants recorded and different covariates (age, gender education, occupation, living place, and treatment methods) was assessed using Kruskal-Wallis test and Wilcoxon test. The relationship between the information sources people follow and the respondent characteristics was assessed using chi-square test. Results The study found that the use of medicinal plants has increased during COVID-19 and most of the respondents recommended medicinal plants to prevent COVID-19. This study recorded a total of 60 plants belonging to 36 families. The leaves of the plants were the most frequently used. The Zingiber officinale was the most cited species with the frequency of citation 0.398. Most of the people (45.61%) were getting medicinal plants from their home garden. Space Utilization and Transformable architecture of Peri-Urban Co-Living Concept in Rancaekek, Bandung

Peri-urban issues are generated by the problem of uncontrolled increase of settlement land-use that converts and decreases the agriculture and water absorption land-use. Development improvement is needed to support food protection and environment sustainability from urbanization ***-living Rancaekek in Bandung's peri-urban area is a concept which aims to improve the effectiveness of land use by providing multifunctional living space and household food production through hybrid infrastructure. This residence consists of five families living together in a modular housing unit with an area of 21 m2. Each unit supports families with different responsibilities: farming; food processing; capacity building; building and infrastructure management; and special units for external researchers. The analysis in this paper provides evidence that each responsibility requires specific spatial planning and multifunctional furniture that can support various activities, tools, and processes to enable adaptation in limited space. The solution to space utilization is determined through the proposed movement of furniture based on a review of transformable architecture, namely flexibility and functionality of the space being utilized, to maximize functions in a minimum size space. This research requires deeper research and/or experiments on materials, community acceptance, and a more in-depth review of furniture design in accordance with the concept of transformable architecture.

A Benchmark Model for Predicting Building Energy and Daylight Performance in The Early Phase of Design Utilizing Parametric Design Exploration

Along with the enormous impact on computational development in architecture and urban design, the way in approaching the built environment is shifting and intended to look closer to performance and evidence-based design. This development holds promise in handling complex computation to approach desired targeted design goals. However, the implementation of form-finding and design performance optimization still lacks, particularly in Japan's sub-tropical climate. This paper describes the parametric design and design exploration process's implementation through the generative algorithm platform to develop a benchmark model to predict building energy and daylight performance and find possible design solutions from the iteration process during the early phase of the design process. The variables incorporated related to the glazing ratio, the length of the overhang, and building orientation. Grasshopper, a parametric-based plugin that works in Rhinoceros, is used to arrange a parametric definition for the overall experiment. The tools used to investigate the environmental analysis and energy consumption are Ladybug and Honeybee, and the exploration process will be conducted using Design Explorer. The context will be situated in Orio district and uses the EPW file of Kitakyushu city, Fukuoka, Japan. The results of this research furthermore can potentially be a comparison for more dynamic factors.
