Using LiDAR sensors for detection flood and landslide in West Nusa Tenggara

In this pre-research, this is an initial study using LiDAR to detect weather conditions in real time. In 5G communication, the opportunity to use an integrated IoT connection is given because the path is used, one of which is millimeter wave. This is applied to disaster conditions, namely flood and landslide detection. Data obtained briefly within one month in data processing needs to be added so that the real sensor power is obtained in the outdoor position because the sensor is used as needed. LiDAR has problems when used in rainy conditions which form polarization scattering or light scattering is formed by moving raindrops, especially when the rain is getting heavier. The position of LiDAR in this study is able to detect sunny conditions with an available level of 97.99% and rain outage is still 0.3%, this in heavy rainy conditions needs further research.

This study aimed to determine the potential of coffee skin waste (Coffea robusta L) as a superior compost innovation for the growth of pepper-cutting seedlings (Piper nigrum L). This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design using five treatments and five repeats, variations in the dose of coffee skin waste used P0 (control), P1 (90 g), P2 (135 g), P3 (180 g), and P4 (225 g). The shoot height, number of leaves, number of roots, and length of roots were measured. The results showed that coffee skin waste compost significantly affected shoot height, especially at P1 (90 g), resulting in an average growth height of 7.24 cm. In addition, the highest number of leaves was found at a concentration of P1 (90 g), with an average of two leaves. Although there was no significant effect on the number of roots, the concentration of P1 (90 g) yielded the best results, with an average of 33 root blades, and the best root length was obtained at the concentration of P1 (90 g), with an average of 44.6 cm. Therefore, coffee skin waste significantly influenced shoot height and the number of leaves on pepper-cut seedlings (Piper nigrum L.) in the P1 treatment (90 g).

Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation in biomaterial synthesis is commonly used to do sterilization and to improve the physical characteristics. This study is aimed to study the characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol-Aloe vera (PVA-AV) nanofibers from electrospinning process, that was exposed by UV for 6 h with various power of 8, 10, 15, and 20 W. The physical properties of the fiber were characterized by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) test, and water absorption test. The SEM images showed that the nanofibers were formed with s homogeneous structure and no bead was observed. The diameter and the thickness of the nanofibers are increased with the increase of the power of UV exposed to the samples. The biggest diameter was 319.60 ± 56.17 nm obtained at UV exposure power of 20 W. The FTIR test result indicated that there was no new chemical bond after the PVA-AV was exposed by UV. Meanwhile, the DSC test showed that the increase of power could increase the melting temperature (Tm) with the highest value of 189.51°C at UV exposure power of 20 W. The water absorption test showed that the highest water absorption was 739.6 % obtained at UV exposure power of 20 W. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Red chili peppers are extensively used in the culinary industry due to their high vitamin C, antioxidant content, spice, and natural colorant properties. Traditional methods for determining these parameters are time-consuming and unstable. This study investigates the viability of visible near-infrared spectroscopy as a rapid and nondestructive method for determining vitamin C content and antioxidant activity in intact red chilies. Visible near-infrared spectroscopy measures the sample's light absorption, proportional to its chemical composition. Collecting intact red chili samples from various sources and determining their vitamin C content and antioxidant activity using conventional methods were required for the study. The visible near-infrared spectra of the pieces were collected using a spectrometer, and chemometric models were devised to correlate the spectra with the vitamin C content and antioxidant activity. Traditional methods were compared to visible near-infrared spectroscopy regarding their performance of prediction. In conjunction with chemometric models and machine learning algorithms, visible near-infrared spectroscopy could accurately predict red chilies' vitamin C content and antioxidant activity. The developed models exhibited high calibration and prediction coefficients, low root mean square errors, and high prediction-to-deviation ratios. The identified absorption peaks in the visible near-infrared spectra were related to the samples' color pigments and water content. This study demonstrates the feasibility of visible near-infrared spectroscopy as a rapid and nondestructive method for determining the vitamin C content and antioxidant activity of intact red chilies. The findings may have significant ramifications for the food industry, providing a more efficient and secure quality control and nutritional labeling method. This study aims to investigate the changes in landscape metrics with varying spatial resolution from Sentinel-2 (10 m), SPOT 7 (1.5 m), Pleaides (0.5 m), and Worldview-4 (0.3 m) images. We implemented Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA) techniques to all images to identify 21 land use and land cover (LULC) classes, which were then used to calculate several landscape metrics. We performed the Welch hypothesis testing on the class-level landscape metrics and applied Standardized Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with the correlation matrix to reveal the multivariate pattern of landscape metrics. Our results showed that 10 m and even the 1.5 m spatial resolutions cannot guarantee the identification of all LULC classes, and class areas change with varying spatial resolution (sometimes with 200% differences). Sentinel-2 images have some limitations, specifically from the landscape ecological planning perspective; on the other hand, Pleaides and Worldview-4 seem good alternatives to understand habitats’ viability and landscape isolation/connectivity.

A future networking design called "software-defined networking" combines network programmability with centralized administration (SDN). Network administration is currently handled by SDN, which, at the regulator, which acts as the cable network processor and divides the data plane into a control plane and a data aircraft. Recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (Al) have shown a stronger inclination for the science community to benefit from their ability to give learning capabilities and enhance Indicator. The author of this research provides a comprehensive analysis of initiatives underway to incorporate Al with SDN. The study concluded that the three primary Al thread where scientific research was centered were computer science, conceptual, and fuzzy reasoning systems. The authors of this paper explore the several fields in which these approaches may be used, their potential future applications, and the innovations made possible by the integration of AI-based methods into the SDN paradigm. By choosing the right SDN controller, any large organization may lower network complexity, implementation expenses, and maintenance costs. The focus of this article is software defined networking's benefits and downsides (SDN). Following is a basic explanation of artificial intelligence and a list of some of its most significant applications in SDN.

Background: Bone destructions in the oral cavity are due to trauma, chronic infection, congenital malformations, or resection surgery, most often by using an autologous bone graft technique. The problem using this technique are limited donors and suppliers, high cost, host potential imune response becauce accepts foreign bone tissue also potential transmission diseases. Another solution in tissue engineering techniques is using the scaffold. Hidroxyapatite is one of the osteoconductive potentialy ceramic materials in scaffold fabrication. Objective: To prove that bovine teeth hydroxyapatite have characteristic as scaffold for bone tissue regeneration. Methods: HA was obtained by calcining bovine teeth at 1000°C for 3 hours, Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) test , Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) test and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) test. Results: Bovine teeth hydroxyapatite to showed of hydroxyl, phosphate and carbonate functional groups (FTIR test). Average Ca/P=1.97. Conclusion: Hydroxyapatite from bovine teeth has potency as scaffold through the chemistry and physical characteristics.

We study magnon-driven spin and heat transport in a magnetic linear junction (MLJ) formed by two ferromagnets in optical lattices linked via linearly aligned bonds. Using the Schwinger-Keldysh formalism, we uncover that under weak effective Zeeman fields, where Bose-Einstein statistics of magnons dominate, magnonic criticality dramatically enhances spin and thermal conductances. These singular transport properties depend on the junction geometry, and the transport properties qualitatively differ between the linear junction in this paper and the point contact in our previous work. The quantum-enhanced conductances result in the breakdown of the magnonic Wiedemann-Franz (WF) law. In the classical regime at temperatures much lower than magnon energy gaps, we find that a magnonic Lorenz number becomes independent of temperature yet dependent on junction geometry, sharply contrasting with the universal WF law for Fermi liquids. We also find that the interface geometry of the MLJ decouples spin and heat relaxations between ferromagnets with decay times insensitive to temperature and effective Zeeman fields. These dynamics reveal junction-geometry-sensitive magnon transport distinct from Fermi liquids, paving the way for new avenues in thermomagnetic research leveraging the tunability of cold atomic systems.

This study aims to discover the obstacles and provide recommendations on the technical and institutional aspects of the chosen communal WWTP. The methods used in this study were field survey and questionnaire. the data were analyzed using quantitative, qualitative, and SWOT analysis. There are 11 out of 13 communal WWTPs that do not work optimally. The technical obstacle encountered in the operation of the chosen communal WWTPs is the huge building capacity that does not meet the criteria of HRT design. The recommendations for the technical problem include lowering the water level and reducing the number of baffles in communal WWTP. The obstacle faced in the operation of chosen communal WWTPs in terms of institutional and community participation aspects is that the maintenance is only known by few people. The recommendation for the aspects of institutional and community participation is for KPP to arrange a socialization on the maintenance of communal WWTP based on its maintenance module. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.

The studies of bioethanol production are being intensively explored over the past years in the provision of biofuel. This has been long recognized as the best alternative for a renewable energy resource to overcome the problem of the depletion of fossil resources. Indonesia's main agricultural sector, sugarcane industry, has shown promise in supplying sugarcane bagasse (SCB) as a feedstock for the second generation of bioethanol production. In this study, the techno-economic analysis of the sugarcane bagasse from the bioethanol production plant was explored, and the viability of bioethanol production based on the biomass generated from a local sugarcane factory was evaluated. All the costs that will be incurred during a 20-year operating period for a 203 ktons bioethanol production plant from SCB is $231 million, with a payback period of 6.19 years. The potential amount of bioethanol produced from SCB of this plant is 30.19 ML/year with the production cost (levelized cost of bioethanol, LCOB) of $0.59 per liter of ethanol produced. Overall, SCB bioethanol still carries better competitiveness at lower selling price in comparison with the latest price regulation by the Indonesian government ($0.85/L). © 2023, The Authors.
