Electrospinning technique is a method to produce nanofiber with high potential difference. Several main parameters in the electrospinning process are solution parameter, such as viscosity, surface tension and conductivity. Those parameters affect the morphology of nanofiber membrane produced by the electrospinning process. This study used 10% PVA in aquadest with several Aloe vera concentration (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 % w/v). The viscosity of the solution increased when the concentration of the Aloe vera increased. SEM image of the nanofiber membrane showed that the diameter of the nanofiber increased with the increase of the Aloe vera concentration, with the highest diameter of 379.80 nm on the membrane with Aloe vera concentration of 10% w/v. The result of DSC test showed that there were shifts on the glass transition (Tg) and melting point (Tm) value along with the addition of Aloe vera in the PVA solution. This results was also emphasized with the result of FTIR test which showed the shift on the wavenumber absorbance due to the crosslinking between PVA and Aloe vera. The degradation test indicated that the presence of crosslinking could maintain the nanofiber structure, thus the membrane was not easily degraded. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

An Analysis of Coal Post-Mining Land for Agricultivation Uses (A Case study on PT ABK in Kutai Kartanegara District, East Kalimantan Province)

The characteristics of coal surface mining activity are vulnerable to environmental degradation due to soil excavation, although only causing a lower risk in worker's incidence and economically beneficial as requiring a lower cost than the underground mining method. This study aimed to analyze the types of post-mining land use worth developing for the local community's livelihood around the post-mining land on the concession of PT Anugerah Bara Kaltim (ABK) in Kutai Kertanegara District, Kalimantan Timur Province. The method used was a cost-benefit analysis (CBA). The analysis results indicate that the pepper plant cultivation on the post-mining land within six years produces Net Present Value (NPV) at Rp 49,484,637.00, Benefit/Cost (B/C) Ratio at 1.347, Net B/C Ratio at 2.56, and Internal Rate Return (IRR) at 39.20%. Meanwhile, rice plant cultivation stimulated within six years produces NPV at Rp 8,653,754.00, B/C Ratio at 1.035, Net B/C ratio at 1.3871, IRR at 8,50%. The economic analysis results based on all indicators: NPV, B/C, net B/C, and IRR, demonstrate that the pepper and rice plant cultivation activities are feasible in the coal post-mining land.

An investigation of strength degradation due to thickness plate reduction on Ferry Ro-Ro Ship's Hull

Old ships will experience a degradation of the structural strength after receiving repeated loads. Decreased strength performance is also caused by structure shape and structural dimensions changes. In steel ships, Dimensional changes will be discovered when the ship is docked, because the material undergo corrosion causing in thinning the shell plate. In this study, a thickness reduction of the shell plate has been simulated to determine the longitudinal response of the ship's structure. A Finite element analysis of ferry Ro-Ro ship's hull was carried out using ANSYS package program. The simulation was carried out to exceed the allowable limit for reducing the thickness plate by the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI), which is 20% of the initial plate thickness. Based on simulation result, it was found that an increase of stress at each variation of the reduction in hull plate thickness in hogging and sagging conditions.

The research objective of this is to see how to apply science practicum online using Microsoft Teams and Learning Management System (LMS). The form of this research is classroom action research which aims to apply the online science practicum during the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore, it is carried out using two cycles in the application of online science practicum. The subjects of this study were students of the seventh semester in the Natural science practicum course. Through observation and evaluation, it is shown that in the cycle I the percentage of practicum implementation which includes aspects of preparation, process and data and practicum results is 87.5%, in cycle II it has increased to 92.5%. In the assessment aspect of the practicum report, the average practicum assessment obtained in the first cycle was 3.09 from the highest score of 4 and in the second cycle was 3.7, while the aspect of student knowledge about the use of the Microsoft team which was taken using google form was 93%. In the aspect of student knowledge about the use of Learning Management System (LMS) by 75% and aspects of student understanding in the implementation of online science practicum using Microsoft Teams by 75%.

Hemodialysis treatment is a replacement therapy renal function. Hemodialysis therapy with reuse system causes a risk of bacterial infection. In addition, routine vascular access by hemodialysis patients also factors of bacterial contamination which can increase the comorbidity and mortality rates of patients. This research aims to obtain biocompatibility and antibacterial properties by adding concentration chitosan in three variations. The functional group test showed the presence of a bond between PU-CA-PES-CS at a certain wavelength. SEM test proved that the pores produced on dialyzer membrane are still within the size range for the hemodialysis application at 0.001-0.1 μm. Hemolysis test results showed that the percentage of hemolysis in Sample A, Sample B, Sample C, and Sample D were 4.18%, 3.34%, 2.30% and 1.67% respectively. The percentage of hemolysis at less 5% is safe for contact with blood. Antibacterial test results revealed that PES-PU-CA membrane samples coated with chitosan variation are antibacterial. It can be seen from the formation of clear zone around the sample disc with diameter of 6,946-11,086 mm. PES-PU-CA dialyzer membrane coated with chitosan is a safe composite and potentially applicable as an antibacterial dialyzer membrane based on functional group test, antibacterial test, hemolysis assay, SEM, and cytotoxicity test. © 2018 University of Dicle.

Bone Watershed is one of the major watersheds in Gorontalo Province. Bone watershed has a very important role for the people of Gorontalo Province. The role of Bone Watershed is mainly related to the providing clean water, producing oxygen, controlling flood, providing habitat for endemic flora fauna and other environmental functions. The role of Bone Watershed for the community's economic sector is also very important, the Bone watershed provides livelihood for surrounding communities includes fertile land resources for agriculture and plantations, forest products, and livestock feed. This research is important considering the Bone watershed has limited availability of land for agriculture and the high risk of natural disasters such as floods and landslides. Geospatial data includes topography map, landform map, soil map, integrated with field survey results and soil properties were analized to determine conservation management of agriculture land in the Bone Watershed, Gorontalo Province, Indonesia. The result of this study shows that based on soil properties and physical land characteristics, land use for agriculture should consider appropriate conservation techniques, land capability and respect to local wisdom. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP sciences.

Plastic waste in Indonesia has reached 64 million tons per year of which 3.2 million tons per year is discharged into the sea. Because of this condition, Indonesian coastal waters experience degradation. Plastic waste on the coast can be utilized to add value in the form of premium fuel, diesel and kerosene, using a destilator machine. The study was carried out on the coast of Tambaan Village, Pasuruan, East Java. The results indicate that the beach is clean and the processing results are in line with the community expectations. However, the beach has become dirty again and plastic waste has accumulated. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between youth organizations which are responsible for processing plastic waste, and waste banks that currently receive waste from the community. The methods used are analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Partial Least Square (PLS). The two methods are used in the analysis of organizational capacity building and cooperative relations between Bina Hangtuah Youth organization and waste banks. The results of the analysis indicate that operating agreements and revenue sharing based on a 'win-win' solution including increasing human resources are an important basis for increasing institutional capacity.

Load Balancing is very well applied to the distribution of internet access at any point of the Wi-Fi area so that the use of limited devices can be optimal and on target. The proper use of the Greedy Algorithms when applied to an access point device is very capable in resolving excessive loading in a single resource to take the best choice at every stage in an optimum process. Access point device is also a success factor in running the optimization of the distribution of Wi-Fi access on the Access Point is strongly influenced by the parameters set. In this research, user access factor in one very high Wi-Fi area also influences the possibility of incoming access failure. For the application of the results of this study can be utilized on all access point devices that have limits, but for speed internet access remains at the capacity provided bandwidth. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Higher education is an education unit that organizes higher education. College students are called students, while college educators are called lecturers. Higher education as a place of learning and self-development Students provide facilities to improve student achievement in the form of student achievement scholarships. This scholarship program is expected to stimulate students' interest in learning to be better. In determining scholarship recipients, the student division selects prospective scholarship recipients based on existing criteria. In the selection process, the student division has difficulty choosing the data of prospective recipients. Because each type of scholarship criteria and has different criteria weights. Calculation of the value of weighting criteria requires precision. Based on the problems that occur, the author designed a decision support system to determine the recipients of achievement scholarships using the SAW method. This system can help student affairs to carry out criteria for recipients of achievement scholarships based on administrative data of prospective scholarship recipients in determining criteria for weighting value calculations. With this system, it can minimize errors to determine prospective scholarship recipients who excel. After testing the use of support systems for deciding scholarship decisions using the SAW method, it can be concluded that a decision support system can assist the student's part in carrying out their duties.

Shallow-Water Bathymetry Estimation at Pantai Tok Jembal, Terengganu, Malaysia Using Landsat 8 (OLI)

Satellite-derived bathymetry (SDB) emerging as a cost-effective that provides high-resolution mapping over a wide area. This method can map shallow water environment, especially that are difficult to access by boat or airplane. SDB is not for replacing the conventional bathymetry method but to assist. The accuracy of SDB does not meet current International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) S-44 standards but still can use when planning hydrographic surveying, i.e., unsurvey areas or areas with old data. In this paper, the SDB method applies to produces bathymetric mapping at Pantai Tok Jembal, Terengganu, Malaysia. Derived from Landsat 8 images and for the bathymetry method use is an empirical-based method, Log-ratio Transform. To diversify the result, utilizing three atmospheric correction approaches: No. atmospheric correction, Dark Object Subtraction (DOS), and Fast Line-of-sight Atmospheric Analysis of Hypercubes (FLAASH). The SDB result then evaluates using Single Beam Echo Sounding (SBES) ground truth data. The result indicates that Log-ratio Transform with DOS atmospheric correction produces the best result based on the error analysis. The error mostly occurs when there is no data available in the particular area due to cloud cover and shallow water area, i.e., inaccessible boat or vessel area. The error also occurs as it goes deeper area where the light is limited. In conclusion, this study successfully produces bathymetric mapping at Pantai Tok Jembal, Terengganu, Malaysia, through the SDB technique. This method strengthens the SBES data by effectively filling the data gaps; however, further research needs to fulfill this support in giving high accuracy and reliability.
