Achieving and maintaining cooperation between agents to accomplish a common objective is one of the central goals of Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL). Nevertheless in many real-world scenarios, separately trained and specialized agents are deployed into a shared environment, or the environment requires multiple objectives to be achieved by different coexisting parties. These variations among specialties and objectives are likely to cause mixed motives that eventually result in a social dilemma where all the parties are at a loss. In order to resolve this issue, we propose the Incentive Q-Flow (IQ-Flow) algorithm, which modifies the system's reward setup with an incentive regulator agent such that the cooperative policy also corresponds to the self-interested policy for the agents. Unlike the existing methods that learn to incentivize self-interested agents, IQ-Flow does not make any assumptions about agents' policies or learning algorithms, which enables the generalization of the developed framework to a wider array of applications. IQ-Flow performs an offline evaluation of the optimality of the learned policies using the data provided by other agents to determine cooperative and self-interested policies. Next, IQ-Flow uses meta-gradient learning to estimate how policy evaluation changes according to given incentives and modifies the incentive such that the greedy policy for cooperative objective and self-interested objective yield the same actions. We present the operational characteristics of IQ-Flow in Iterated Matrix Games. We demonstrate that IQ-Flow outperforms the state-of-the-art incentive design algorithm in Escape Room and 2-Player Cleanup environments. We further demonstrate that the pretrained IQ-Flow mechanism significantly outperforms the performance of the shared reward setup in the 2-Player Cleanup environment. © 2023 International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (***). A Method for Fast Feature Selection Utilizing Cross-Similarity within the Context of Fuzzy Relations

Feature selection methods rooted in rough sets confront two notable limitations:their high computa-tional complexity and sensitivity to noise,rendering them impractical for managing large-scale and noisy *** primary issue stems from these methods’undue reliance on all *** overcome these challenges,we introduce the concept of cross-similarity grounded in a robust fuzzy relation and design a rapid and robust feature selection ***,we construct a robust fuzzy relation by introducing a truncation ***,based on this fuzzy relation,we propose the concept of cross-similarity,which emphasizes the sample-to-sample similarity relations that uniquely determine feature importance,rather than considering all such relations *** studying the manifestations and properties of cross-similarity across different fuzzy granularities,we propose a forward greedy feature selection algorithm that leverages cross-similarity as the foundation for information *** algorithm significantly reduces the time complexity from O(m2n2)to O(mn2).Experimental findings reveal that the average runtime of five state-of-the-art comparison algorithms is roughly 3.7 times longer than our algorithm,while our algorithm achieves an average accuracy that surpasses those of the five comparison algorithms by approximately 3.52%.This underscores the effectiveness of our *** paper paves the way for applying feature selection algorithms grounded in fuzzy rough sets to large-scale gene datasets.

Puzzle mode graph learning with pattern composition relationships reasoning for defect detection of printed products

Patterns are designs composed of specific elements and are widely present in various printed products, representing particular design intentions. However, due to printing errors, pattern defects are extremely common in these products, significantly impacting their visual quality and market price, especially in high-value customized products like luxury apparel, premium wallpapers and decorative tiles. Traditional detection methods struggle to provide effective judgments with conventional visual cues purely and frequently fall short due to the intricate nature of the pattern composition. To overcome this challenge, we propose a puzzle mode graph learning method capable of reasoning about pattern composition relationships. This novel detection framework simulates the logical reasoning ability of humans in assembling unordered puzzle pieces into a complete pattern, thus surpassing spatial structure limitations and enabling structural defect detection in patterns. Specifically, a parametric representation function is integrated into convolutional layers to enhance the segmentation accuracy of shape masks. Then, cross-graph semantic matching rules are developed to dynamically re-encode the adjacency matrix, enabling the construction of an attribute relationship graph that explicitly describes pattern attributes, including pattern elements, color sequences and shape positions. Moreover, the defective reasoning mechanism calculates puzzle-mode scores to decouple semantic relationships of defect features, inferring anomalous node and edge weights affecting the graph structure, thereby facilitating more precise judgments of pattern defects. Comparative experiments conducted on a real printed defect dataset validate this method. Results demonstrate its effectiveness and robustness in identifying complex pattern defects, providing essential support for appearance quality control in high-end industrial products. © 2025 The Society of Manufacturing Engineers

This paper introduces a novel semi-supervised neuro-fuzzy system to predict ICU admissions among post-COVID organ transplant recipients. Addressing the challenges of small sample sizes and lacking labels in organ transplantation, our study takes on these issues by proposing a DBN-Based Dual Manifold Regularized Fuzzy Broad Learning System (D-DMR-FBLS). This system utilizes the streamlined and flat architecture of the Broad Learning System (BLS), integrating Deep Belief Networks (DBN) and Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) systems to enhance representation learning capacities during the Unsupervised Training Phase (UTP). The system combines the strong feature learning capabilities of DBN with the powerful fuzzy rule extraction capacity of the TSK system, enhancing the model’s predictive performance and generalization capability. Moreover, we propose two types of graph-based manifold regularization, sample-based and feature-based, within this novel D-DMR-FBLS framework. Our method enhances its predictive ability by exploiting both the similarity among unlabeled and labeled patient samples, as well as the correlations between features within the fuzzy feature space. Employed to predict ICU admission risks in post-transplant COVID-19 patients, the method has demonstrated superior performance over existing methods, particularly in scenarios with limited samples and labels, thereby providing more accurate decision support for medical professionals in optimizing resource allocation for transplant patients. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – science and Technology Publications, Lda.

When a Knowledge Discovery from data (KDD) (Fayyad, Piatetsky-Shapiro, & Smyth, 1996) process is being applied to get knowledge, several methods could be used (Gibert, et al., 2018). A simple and fast way to obtain preliminary insights from data before using KDD models is by generating a basic descriptive analysis. It is one of the most popular ways to describe experimental data and should be the beginning of all data projects. Nevertheless some of the main knowledge that can be extracted in a descriptive analysis is hidden due to underlying multivariate structures which could be elicited through multivariate analysis techniques. Moreover, the domain expert is key for a proper interpretation of descriptive results. At the same time, there is a lack of automatic reporting techniques that can report and help in the interpretation of complex patterns and the use of advanced multivariate techniques. This paper shows the tool developed to generate automatic interpretation of Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) and Principal Components Analysis (PCA) by using RMarkdown. This tool generates a Word document which contains the automatic interpretation of the results, built on the basis of regular expressions ellaborating over the R analytical outputs (either numerical or graphical results). The proposal is being applied with some real data, like INSESS database on social vulnerabilities of the Catalan population. In conclusion, the developed tool contributes to facilitate the factorial methods results, avoiding the misinterpretation of the results and the involuntary skipping of conclusions due to the large amount of knowledge that can be extracted from a complete factorial analysis. Also, this software enables non-expert users to read multivariate analysis results in a friendly way. Solar insecticidal lamps(SIL) can effectively control pests and reduce the use of pesticides. Combining SIL and Internet of Things(IoT) has formed a new type of agricultural IoT,known as SIL-IoT, which can improve the effectiveness of migratory phototropic pest control. However, since the SIL is connected to the Internet, it is vulnerable to various security *** issues can lead to serious consequences, such as tampering with the parameters of SIL, illegally starting and stopping SIL,etc. In this paper, we describe the overall security requirements of SIL-IoT and present an extensive survey of security and privacy solutions for SIL-IoT. We investigate the background and logical architecture of SIL-IoT, discuss SIL-IoT security scenarios, and analyze potential attacks. Starting from the security requirements of SIL-IoT we divide them into six categories, namely privacy, authentication, confidentiality, access control, availability,and integrity. Next, we describe the SIL-IoT privacy and security solutions, as well as the blockchain-based solutions. Based on the current survey, we finally discuss the challenges and future research directions of SIL-IoT.
