The rapid advancement of music playback technology, particularly within mobile platforms, has fundamentally transformed user engagement with music. Despite significant improvements in music retrieval techniques over the past decade, the evolution of music recommendation systems remains in its early stages. With users having access to extensive online music libraries, the task of selecting preferred tracks from an overwhelming array of options presents a considerable challenge. Individual musical tastes vary widely, and the influx of new users and music necessitates a system that can adapt *** music recommendation systems face the dual challenge of managing vast amounts of data while delivering accurate results, making them resource-intensive. However, the high precision of these models drives their increasing application in commercial settings. This paper proposes a framework aimed at enhancing recommendation accuracy by tailoring suggestions to align more closely with user preferences.A comprehensive analysis of traditional and advanced music recommendation methodologies is presented, focusing on two user-centric approaches: user preference and emotion-based metrics. These methodologies are critically compared, leveraging the Million Song dataset (MSD) for training the recommendation system. Additionally, an Android application has been developed to collect empirical data on user experiences, facilitating a deeper understanding of user interactions and satisfaction with the recommendation framework. This research aims to improve user experience in music discovery by providing more relevant and personalized recommendations. © 2024 IEEE.

A novel approach for image retrieval in remote sensing using vision-language-based image caption generation

Recent advancements in satellite technologies have resulted in the emergence of Remote Sensing (RS) images. Hence, the primary imperative research domain is designing a precise retrieval model for retrieving the most pertinent images based on the query. Present Remote Sensing Image Retrieval (RSIR) systems use visual descriptors to characterize the primitives (such as various land-cover types) that are visible in the images. However, the visual descriptors are inadequate for defining the complicated content of RS images. To solve this problem, a new model is devised for image retrieval based on image captions. The goal is to generate textual illustrations with captions to define relations amongst objects precisely. Here, image captioning is attained based on the vision-language pre-training model. The image captions are utilized for generating features like term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF), length of text, and Bag of Words. Meanwhile, query text is utilized wherein features like TF-IDF, text length, and Bag of Words are obtained. The similarity between query text features and the image captions features has been computed on the basis of a hybrid similarity measure wherein weights are tuned with the proposed Honey Badger Political Optimizer (HBPO) to retrieve the image. The proposed HBPO provided enhanced efficiency with elevated precision of 93.3%, recall of 93.7%, F1-score of 93.5%, and Recall-Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation (ROUGE) of 0.441. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The main economic contributor to India is agriculture. The Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), are the crucial parts of nutrients in plant growth. NPK deficiency levels affect plant development and crop productivity. By analyzing the leaf properties, we hope to build a model for an artificial neural network (Convolutional Neural Network Technique) that will be able to identify and categorize nutrient deficiencies in toor dal leaf. The two main characteristics used to determine NPK deficiencies in plants are the color and shape of a leaf. The dynamic capture of toor dal leaves by scanning was employed in this work to investigate how the regulation of leaf attributes changed in response to nutritional stress. In this work, the impact of various activation functions on the artificial neural network is also investigated. The findings demonstrate that the suggested technique was highly accurate in classifying and identifying NPK deficiencies in toor dal leaf. © 2023 IEEE.

NeuroProbe: A Performance Profiling Feed Forward Neural Network Simulator for Hardware Interaction Analysis

NeuroProbe is a simple neural network simulator designed by authors specifically for educational purposes focusing on simulating inference phase on a computationally capable embedded hardware, aiming to provide a deeper understanding of hardware interactions and performance improvement. This simulator incorporates performance profiling capabilities, allowing students and educators to analyze and optimize the performance of a simulated trained neural network. By simulating the intricate hardware interactions, NeuroProbe enables users to gain insights into how various components impact the overall performance of neural networks. Using this simulator, learners can experiment with different configurations and architectures, identify potential bottlenecks, and explore optimization strategies to enhance neural network performance before deploying the model on an Edge Computing environment. It also enriches computer science education by enabling learners to gain deeper insights into hardware interactions and performance improvement. By identifying performance bottlenecks, learners can refine their understanding of neural networks and develop skills in optimizing their models for enhanced performance. In conclusion, NeuroProbe empowers users to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation of neural network on an embedded device, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of neural networks and their hardware requirements. Currently, it is focused solely on single-threaded CPU-based computation enabling SSE, AVX. At present, NeuroProbe does not support SIMD extensions such as AVX-FMA, AVX-512, multi-threaded computation, and accelerators such as NPU, TPU, and GPU. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) worldwide makes major advancements through the Internet of Things (IoT) by enabling real-time monitoring and prediction analytics and automatic decision capabilities in worldwide deliver chains. Through IoT technology integration with artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain and cloud computing the supply chain solves major operational problems including monitoring difficulties and waste reduction and regulatory compliance requirements and operation leadership deficits. The implementation of IoT for supply chain management encounters major adoption barriers from high installation costs combined with security risks and operability complications as well as limited scalability capacity that affects especially small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and developing markets. The evaluation paper examines the shifting impact of IoT in supply chain management which enhances performance metrics and brings greater clarity and strengthens supply chain resilience. A scientist studied existing papers and case studies to reveal several essential advantages which include better inventory management, predictive analysis systems and more effective supply-chain collaborations. The analysis emphasizes effective solutions for security privacy and moral and environmental issues to guarantee sustainable expanded IoT adoption. A key difficulty of dealing with imbalanced datasets is that machine learning models are trained to favor the majority class and therefore perform poorly when it comes to a minority class classification. In this paper, we consider the following methods of tackling the issue of the over-representation of a class;random oversampling, undersampling, SMOTE, cost-sensitive learning, and ensemble methods. Comparing them, we assess the performance of each of these techniques within different classifiers. Techniques including SMOTE together with combined methods including Random Forests also show higher capacity in minority class predictions. However, problems such as overfitting and the increase in the computational load are not escapable yet. We briefly recap the strengths and weaknesses of each approach and propose potential refinements including a combination of both methods and dynamic resampling methods to serve as the next steps toward improving the model. Thereby, our results draw attention to the necessity of accurate methods for handling the class imbalance, which will further yield more accurate and fair machine learning solutions across a variety of applications. © 2025 IEEE.

This research focuses on the crucial role of the clustering technique in data mining, specifically in market forecasting and planning. The study presents a comprehensive report on utilizing the k-means clustering technique and data visualization tools to develop a real- time system for a supermarket, predicting sales across various annual cycles. An open-source dataset of a mall with n = 200 customers divided into k = 3 groups, demonstrated high accuracy in predicting day-to-day sales statistics when compared with actual results. The research highlights the effectiveness of the clustering technique in real-time sales prediction for supermarkets. © 2024 IEEE.

As artificial intelligence continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, the selection of programming languages significantly affects development processes, workflows, and outcomes. Mojo, a novel programming language, has gained attention through its integration of Python-like syntax, Rust-inspired safety features, and superior performance characteristics. This paper evaluates Mojo across four critical dimensions: distinctive features, performance metrics, ecosystem maturity, and practical applications, while examining potential adoption barriers. Positioned at the intersection of high-level programming simplicity and low-level performance optimization, Mojo demonstrates particular utility for artificial intelligence developers requiring both flexibility and computational efficiency. Through analysis of prominent libraries, including Endia, Lightbug HTTP, Basalt, and ***, this study examines Mojo's capabilities and limitations. By presenting a comparative analysis of Mojo's features, emerging ecosystem, and applicability to artificial intelligence development, this research addresses the current literature gap and provides substantive insights into this emerging programming language. © 2025 IEEE.

When data privacy is imposed as a necessity,Federated learning(FL)emerges as a relevant artificial intelligence field for developing machine learning(ML)models in a distributed and decentralized *** allows ML models to be trained on local devices without any need for centralized data transfer,thereby reducing both the exposure of sensitive data and the possibility of data interception by malicious third *** paradigm has gained momentum in the last few years,spurred by the plethora of real-world applications that have leveraged its ability to improve the efficiency of distributed learning and to accommodate numerous participants with their data *** virtue of FL,models can be learned from all such distributed data sources while preserving data *** aim of this paper is to provide a practical tutorial on FL,including a short methodology and a systematic analysis of existing software ***,our tutorial provides exemplary cases of study from three complementary perspectives:i)Foundations of FL,describing the main components of FL,from key elements to FL categories;ii)Implementation guidelines and exemplary cases of study,by systematically examining the functionalities provided by existing software frameworks for FL deployment,devising a methodology to design a FL scenario,and providing exemplary cases of study with source code for different ML approaches;and iii)Trends,shortly reviewing a non-exhaustive list of research directions that are under active investigation in the current FL *** ultimate purpose of this work is to establish itself as a referential work for researchers,developers,and data scientists willing to explore the capabilities of FL in practical applications.
