Semantic Segmentation of Areal Images using Pixel Wise Segmentation

Particularly in regions hit by flooding, precise semantic segmentation of aerial photographs is essential for post-disaster evaluation and urban planning. The high-resolution aerial photography collection FloodNet, created for pixel-by-pixel segmentation of flooded and non-flooded landscapes, is presented in this work. Aerial photos taken from various geographic regions make up the collection, and segmentation masks are used to detect flooded roads, houses, cars, plants, and other vital infrastructure. In order to conduct semantic segmentation on aerial photos and capture the fine-grained information necessary for flood damage assessments, the suggested model makes use of a U-Net architecture. Morphological post-processing is also used to improve object delineation and smooth segmentation borders. The model showed consistent performance with little overfitting, achieving training accuracy of 84% and validation accuracy of 81% over 200 epochs. Effective generalization to unknown data was demonstrated by the validation loss stabilizing at 0.55 and the training loss declining from 1.1 to 0.45. The findings show that the suggested method can reliably identify and categorize areas damaged by flooding from aerial photos, enabling automated flood assessment and speeding up disaster relief activities. There is a lot of promise for integrating this model and dataset combination into real-time catastrophe monitoring, urban planning, and geospatial analytic pipelines.

Flow across an array of solid obstructions is a common phenomenon observed in many applications such as multiphase flows, heat exchangers, and environmental flows. In this work, we aim to train deep learning models and to predict the time evolution of unsteady flow fields in a domain of randomly arranged 2D cylinders at Reynolds number 50. Two different approaches are used and compared in this paper, dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) which is a dimensionality-reduction algorithm based on singular value decomposition (SVD) and long short-term memory (LSTM) neural networks. In both cases, the model is trained on the first 165 time steps and then is tested on predicting the next 300 time steps. Two flow fields with different spectral characteristics are used to compare the performance of the two techniques. The LSTM architecture owing to its ability to learn nonlinear dynamics performs better than the DMD algorithm in the case with more temporal time scales present. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The technology and field of study known as Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) focuses on recognising and deciphering human facial expressions to ascertain emotions. It incorporates aspects of psychology, machine learning, and computer vision. Considering its ability to analyse facial expressions and spot signs of stress or emotional distress, FER plays a vital role in the detection of stress. Microexpressions are fleeting, uncontrollably expressed facial expressions that convey true feelings. These ephemeral expressions, which are frequently linked to stress, can be captured by FER systems. With its capacity to manage intricate patterns and variances in face expressions, FER utilising deep learning has grown in popularity. A novel FER system was designed to overcome issues that plague current FER systems, such as imbalanced datasets and robustness to noisy inputs. Large datasets are handled effectively by FER employing Deep CNN because of its architecture, which is built for high-dimensional input like images. Leveraging FER using Deep CNN achieves notable performance improvements, attaining an accuracy of 95.65 % and F1 score of 94.02%. Deep learning-based FER marks a substantial advancement in our ability to recognize and decipher facial expressions that convey emotions. FER technology has the ability to revolutionize several fields by improving intuition and sensitivity to human emotions through further development and thoughtful assessment of ethical ramifications. FER systems will advance in sophistication as science and technology develop, offering more profound understanding of human emotional states and promoting improved human-machine interactions.

The primary sector of our Indian economy is agriculture. Today’s world’s most important and vital industries are agriculture and irrigation. Information and communication technology must be used in our agriculture sectors in order to support farmers and agriculturalists in improving their practices across the entire crop-growing and post-harvest processes. It is still challenging to define processed food, even in light of mounting research that suggests consuming more ultra-processed food has negative health effects. This research proposes novel technique in smart agriculture model based on cloud machine learning in cloud machine learning and healthcare system. By leveraging IoT and cloud-based data to create data-driven product decisions, cloud computing in agriculture can assist farmers with smart agriculture practices. Here, the input has been collected as food quality based on smart agriculture using a cloud model as well as processed for noise removal and normalisation. Then, based on this data, the healthcare security system has been analysed using reinforcement adversarial stacked encoder with Markov fuzzy algorithm. The experimental analysis has been carried out for various food quality datasets in terms of training accuracy, random precision, normalised correlation ratio, F-1 score, and AUC. The proposed technique achieved training accuracy of 96%, F-1 score of 94%, random precision of 97%, normalised correlation ratio of 93%, and AUC of 92%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Colossal pattern mining, which involves deriving important relationships and insights from large and complex datasets, is an essential part of data analysis. Extracting association rules that satisfy preset minimum support and confidence criteria from a given database is the aim of association rule mining (ARM). Nevertheless, ARM often generates an unusually large number of association rules that are hard for end users to comprehend or validate, which lessens the significance of data mining discoveries. Based on the clustering methodology, this research study presents a new mining strategy. The process begins with a method called the Expressed Data Matrix (EDM), which transforms unstructured data into a structured format and enhances the quality and organisation of the information. Primary data cleaning processes are used to eliminate noise and inconsistencies from the data in order to further improve it. To address high-dimensionality issues and boost mining productivity, dimensionality reduction—which lowers the dataset to its most valuable features—is accomplished using Eigen-Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The core of this study is the hybridised clustering approach, or GS-FFO, which combines the Fruit Fly Optimisation technique (FOA) with Glow Swarm Optimisation (GSO). This technique improves the quality of clustering and reduces the probability of local optima convergence by integrating the benefits of both approaches. Medical professionals use Anomaly Detection(AD) to identify patients with potential health problems in the heart rate data (HRD), an essential metric related to cardiovascular health. In this research, the most effective AD techniques were identified in detecting unusual variations of the heart rate pattern. Synthetic HRD data with anomalous rates of 15%, 20%, and 25% was generated and standardized it using min-max scaling for consistency among the datasets. Normal HR was based on function with a mean of 70 and a standard deviation of 5 while anomalous values were generated with a mean of 120 and a standard deviation of 10. Among the evaluated models (Elliptic Envelope, one-class SVM, Local Outlier Factor, and Isolation Forest), the Elliptic Envelope (EE) and Isolation Forest (IF) models obtain the best scores in terms of recall and precision – 0.92 and 0.89, respectively. Overall, the results of this research indicate that equally robust AD models should be implemented within clinical systems and wearable devices that serve as a digital space for early cardiac risk identification, prompting adequate intervention and, as a result, health improvement.

Agriculture faces many challenges of precision farming, such as the need for sustainable practices, improving yields, ensuring high yields. In resolution to these challenges, the present research provides an AI-based system that enables the use of deep learning, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies to create a highly intelligent smart agricultural precision farming system. Its goal is to monitoring crop health and reduce disease risk, which will lead to improved resource utilization and environmentally sustainability techniques. The proposed framework addresses the urgent need for consistency in agricultural practices, especially as global agriculture deals with pressures from climate change, resource shortages, and increasing demand for food. Traditional agricultural methods for predicting and optimizing crop yields due to increasing factors affecting crop performance Not enough generative AI, especially the use of deep learning models, supports agricultural research in many cases, allowing patterns to be identified and future results to be predicted accurately. The integration of GPS and GIS allows for more accurate mapping, real-time analysis, and effective decision-making. Weather forecasting variability, resource constraints, and demand for more food are isolated from environmental influences using deep learning models, especially Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). By using large data sets, including historical crop yield performance, soil properties, and weather conditions, the system provides highly accurate crop forecasts. An exhaustive and comprehensive investigation was undertaken to address the critical issue of disease detection on apple leaves using cutting-edge deep learning techniques. The research delved into an array of diverse approaches, meticulously examining their efficacy and performance in disease detection, ultimately offering valuable insights into this vital domain. The research effort was marked by the exploration and application of a wide spectrum of deep learning models, each chosen for its distinct characteristics and potential advantages. The results of this extensive work were nothing short of remarkable. This study uses state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to present a thorough and rigorous analysis into the important problem of disease detection on apple leaves. Our research covers a wide range of approaches, all of which have been thoroughly assessed for their efficacy in the diagnosis of disease. We used a wide range of deep learning models, selected for their special qualities and possible benefits. The results of this extensive study are impressive and measurable. VGG-INCEP, the top approach, showed exceptional performance with a measured accuracy rate of 97%. The quantification of precision, recall, and F1 scores were 0.94, 0.92, and 0.92, respectively. Similarly, InceptionV3 yielded an F1 score of 0.93, precision of 0.95, and recall of 0.91, in addition to a measured accuracy of 97%. AlexNet consistently demonstrated measurable high precision (0.95) and recall (0.93), resulting in an F1 score of 0.93, despite a somewhat lower accuracy of 87%. The method's balanced performance is highlighted by these metrics. The study also evaluated the effectiveness of SVM, MobileNet, RCNN, and a recommended method. With quantifiable accuracy of 98% and quantifiable precision, recall, and F1 scores of 0.96, the suggested technique stood out. In the rapidly evolving field of natural language processing (NLP), performance optimization of large-scale NLP models is crucial. Through the application of Quantum-Accelerated Hyperparameter Tuning (QAHT), this abstract introduces a novel approach to addressing this issue. Our proposed framework leverages quantum computing capabilities to dynamically optimize NLP model hyperparameters in real-time, catering to the ever-changing character of textual data streams. Traditional hyperparameter optimisation methods usually rely on laborious grid searches or random exploration, which may not be suitable for dynamic NLP jobs. Contrarily, QAHT uses Quantum Neural Network (QNN) architectures that have been specially designed for hyperparameter optimisation. These QNNs improve performance and efficacy by dynamically modifying and improving model configurations. This abstract discusses the key elements of the QAHT architecture, including real-time model deployment, adaptive learning, and continuous data stream processing. In addition to speeding up the hyperparameter optimisation process, QAHT makes sure that NLP models are still flexible and responsive to shifts in the sentiment of the data and its distribution. This method has applications beyond NLP since it provides a foundation for effectively optimising machine learning models in complex, real-time situations. As quantum computing develops, QAHT represents a promising future in machine learning, where quantum-enhanced capabilities satisfy the needs of contemporary data-driven applications.

This study addresses the challenges of accurately segmenting kidneys in non-contrast CT images;where Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) perform best. The main goal is to investigate how well a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) performs in producing virtual contrast-enhanced (vCECT) images from non-contrast sources. A GAN model is trained to generate simulated contrast-enhanced images that preserve pertinent information throughout translation by utilizing a dataset of 286 paired non-contrast and contrast-enhanced images. Following, 20 pairs of non-contrast and vCECT pictures are used to assess the performance of a unique segmentation model named Res-U-Net. The Res-U-Net architecture, which combines a U-Net design with residual connections, is optimized to efficiently extract detailed information from original and vCECT images. Image preprocessing methods like Hounsfield windowing with histogram equalization are used to improve the quality of the data before it is fed into the deep neural network. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) is used to measure Res-U-Net's performance and acts as a benchmark against the most advanced kidney segmentation techniques. ResU-Net's performance is evaluated using the DSC. When compared to state-of-the-art methods for kidney segmentation recognition, the ResU-Net systems with intact connections achieved a DSC value of 0.97 percent for organs recognition and 0.83 percent for segmentation approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
