Many people in metropolitan areas have experienced problems with energy and water shortages. Some people used modern technologies and advancements to theft water and power illegally. Because the planet absolutely needs both water and power. Currently, the Internet of Things (IoT), smart meters, smart pipelines, and smart homes are being heavily integrated to replace traditional systems for detecting theft activities. This can be digitizing both the meter readings and the data that has been gathered. Wireless technology may be used to collect and analyze the data, which helps to reduce the need for physical labor. In this project, we suggested creating an IoT-based system for water and power theft detection. The proposed project aims to design a system to monitor the amount of power and water used by the people and indicates if water and electricity theft activities happen. This research study offers a user interface system to help people to monitor whether anyone is stealing their water or power. This study employs a hardware like voltage sensors, current sensors, flow sensors, and additionally, the Arduino IoT cloud to enable remote control and monitor the water and power usage.

Using the calculation of phase diagrams approach and Scheil solidification modeling,the Al-2.5Mg-1.0Ni-0.4Sc-0.1Zr alloy was designed,intentionally with an extraordinarily high cracking susceptibility,making it prime for solidification cracking during laser powder bed *** study demonstrates the ability to mitigate even the most extreme solidification cracking tendencies in aluminum alloys with only minor alloying additions of Sc and Zr,0.5 wt.%***,by employing a simple direct ageing heat treatment,good tensile mechanical properties were observed with a yield strength of 308 MPa,an ultimate tensile strength of 390 MPa,and a total elongation of 11%.

Big data is a huge amount of heterogeneous information which keeps getting rapidly increased minute to minute. Volume is one of the most important features of big data and it is handled only in cloud computing which provides significant facility of on-demand availability. Routing plays vital role in accessing big data in cloud computing. If traditional protocols applied for routing the big data means it will never give its best performance in network and it will lead to increased reduced delivery of packets and increased delay. To overcome issue, this paper proposes an optimization-based routing protocol namely Energy Efficient Robust Bacterial Foraging Routing Protocol (EE-RBFRP) which is inspired from foraging behavior of bacteria. EE-RBFRP initially investigates the whole search space and performs local-search and global-search separately to exploit the promising regions of the network to find the best route to access the big data in cloud computing. EE-RBFRP is evaluated against existing protocol using NS2 with benchmark performance metrics. Results make a better indication that EE-RBFRP has better performance than existing protocols in terms of reducing the delay and energy consumption.

Natural clay is highly erodible by flowing water. Clay particles present in soil are likely to disperse and deflocculate when water is added. Dispersive soil is characterized by unstable structure and tends to crumble and erode even at a low flow rate. This leads to stability problems in earthwork construction such as dam embankment and roadway embankment. Dispersive soil is characterized by a higher exchangeable sodium percentage. To study dispersion characteristics, the soil collected was mixed with 50% sodium bentonite. The results of the double hydrometer and crumb test confirmed the dispersivity of bentonite-mixed clay. To control the dispersivity of the soil, sodium lignosulfonate was added. The selected lignosulfonate contents were 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% of dry soil mass. The optimum percentage of lignosulfonate was 1.5% which was determined by the pinhole test. The results of the double hydrometer test on soil treated with sodium lignosulfonate confirmed the non-dispersivity of soil. The dispersivity of soil was found to reduce from 64 to 30% at the optimum percentage of lignosulfonate. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Object detection and Tracking are important tasks in both moving and static camera applications like unmanned vehicles, human-assisted vehicles, product parts inspection, video surveillance, and many more. These applications are required to detect moving objects and track static and dynamic cameras. It also needed to process these tasks with rate and lesser time. Many computer vision applications are always used to read the image/frame pixels one by one from row by column or column by row pattern. Reading pixels one by one from the image/frame took more time in real-time applications. In this proposed method we used to read the pixels from the entire image/frame in parallel using Parallel. For utilities and process these pixels in parallel. In the proposed work we used the background subtraction model for object detection and tracking and noted the difference in both sequential and parallel processes and compared the output with the existing background subtraction model. In this work analyzed the time taken to read the entire image using various tools and languages. The work was implemented using C#.NET parallel. For other thread-based functions to minimize the pixel reading time and processing time for object detection and tracking. Finally, the proposed work gave a considerable performance and compared with the existing system.

Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN)has been extensively utilized as a communication model in Internet of Things(IoT).As well,to offer service,numerous IoT based applications need effective transmission over unstable *** ensure reliability,prevailing investigations exploit multiple candidate forwarders over geographic opportunistic routing in ***,these models are affected by crucial denial of service(DoS)attacks,where huge amount of invalid data are delivered intentionally to the receivers to disturb the functionality of ***,secure localization based authentication(SLA)is presented to fight against DoS attack,and to fulfil the need of reliability and *** examining state information,SLA projects a trust model to enhance efficacy of data ***,of the prevailing opportunistic protocols,SLA guarantees data integrity by modelling a trust based authentication,providing protection against DoS attackers and diminishing computational ***,this model acts as a verification strategy to accelerate?attackers and to handle *** strategy helps SLA in eliminating duplicate transmission and by continuous verification that results from conventional opportunistic *** is performed in a MATLAB environment that offers authentic and reliable delivery by consuming approximately 50%of the cost in contrast to other *** anticipated model shows better trade off in comparison to the prevailing ones.

Most educational laboratory equipment utilized in vibrations and control labs is heavy and bulky, limiting its use within lab spaces. Further, mechanical engineering students typically gain hands-on experience only in labs that are offered separately from fundamental courses, unlike other engineering programs. Thus, the extent of student learning from labs, given their limited time, remains a concern considering students’ learning opportunities. This study presents the design and development of two portable and low-cost lab equipment devices: a compliant mechanism with unbalanced rotating masses and a DC motor with beam control under disturbances. While the former is utilized to demonstrate fundamentals of vibrations, derivation of the mathematical model, simulation, and comparison of theory and experimental data, the latter can be used for demonstration of disturbance control. Virtual labs are developed for both mechanisms in MATLAB Simscape.

Policymakers have recognized the urgent need to create AI data protections, yet the interests of older adults have thus far not been well represented. We report peoples' perspectives on small AI companion robots for older adults, along with attendant issues related to facial expression and conversation data collection and sharing. Data are from a cross-sectional survey of an online cohort of the Oregon Center for Aging & Technology at Oregon Health & science University, with a response rate of 45% and analytic sample of 825 (mean age: 63.9, rang: 25-88). Logistic regressions examined relationships between comfort and data sharing preferences with socio-demographic characteristics. Just over half (52.3%) were somewhat or very comfortable with an artificial companion robot during the pandemic and 45.2% were under normal circumstances. In adjusted models, being younger, male, and having lower formal education and greater confidence in computer use were associated with greater likelihood of being comfortable with a companion robot. Those who were at least somewhat comfortable with robots recording their conversations (15%) or reported that they would probably want their facial expressions read for emotion detection (52.8%) also selected with whom they want these data shared. Free text comments were thematically analyzed. Primary themes were that robot-based data collection constitutes over monitoring and invasion of privacy, with participants predicting data privacy, security, and use issues. These findings about the importance potential users place on data protection and transparency demonstrate a need for law and policy to act to enable trustworthy, desirable companion robots. In this study, the use of a U-Net segmentation model is measured for the accurate detection of congenital heart abnormalities in newborn ultrasound pictures. The technique includes U-Net model training, sophisticated picture preprocessing, as well as exhaustive dataset gathering. As a result of the model's considerable accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity, it has the potential to become a crucial diagnostic tool. A thorough analysis found both advantages, such as reliable performance, and disadvantages, which include the requirement for a larger and more varied dataset. Enlarging the dataset, addressing equipment variability, real-time clinical application, multidisciplinary cooperation, and ethical issues, including model improvement are among the key recommendations. In order to promote newborn healthcare, future work will require ongoing model development, real-time clinical integration, and ethical adherence. The work advances the development of accurate diagnostics in newborn care. © 2023 IEEE.

Inclusion of Internet of vehicles (IoV) an emerging technology in smart city for vehicular communication is covering the Internet of things (IoT) technology into vehicular networks for benefiting from omnipresent Internet connectivity. Smart city as a demand of new way of living of current and coming generation by gathering the information through the various electronic devices. The one of the key point in smart city is making traffic planning more secure and accurate by using the better message communication between vehicles. A huge number of researchers have been worked on vehicular networks for message communication but researchers are still having to do work on to achieve the higher data rate, faultless network connectivity, message scalability, message security and improved quality of services for message communication for making IoV more effective. IoV is more capable for comprehensively information processing that is collected from the vehicles, roads and surroundings and helps the drivers for driving the vehicles in safer zone. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) model integrates vehicular intelligence in addition to leveraging ubiquitous vehicle connection for a multitude of applications. This research technology used in network communication including the smart city requirements, traffic control for increasing the life security.
