Elsherbeni:received an honorary BSc in Electronics and Communications an honorary BSc in Applied Physics and an MEng in Electrical Engineering all from Cairo University Cairo Egypt in 1976 1979 and 1982 respectively. He also received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Manitoba University Winnipeg Manitoba Canada in 1987. He was a research assistant with the faculty of Engineering at Cairo University from 1976 to 1982 and at the Electrical Engineering Department Manitoba University from 1983 to 1986 and a Postdoctoral fellow in the same department from January to August 1987. He joined the faculty at the University of Mississippi in August 1987 where he is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering. During the last few years he was involved in developing software for undergraduate education related to electromagnetic waves and antenna design courses. His professional interests include microstrip antennas scattering and diffraction of electromagnetic waves numerical techniques and computer applications for electromagnetics education. He has authored or coauthored over 80 technical papers and reports on applied electromagnetics antenna design and microwave subjects. Dr. Elsherbeni is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) belonging to the Antennas and Propagation Microwave Theory and Techniques and Magnetics Societies. His honorary memberships include the Electromagnetics Academy and the Scientific Sigma Xi Society. Patrick Ginn:was born in Corinth Mississippi on June 30 1969. Mr. Ginn attended Kossuth High School where he was awarded the STAR student award. He attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College from 1987 to 1989. Ostendorf is an associate professor in the Environmental Engineering Program of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Massachusetts (Civil Engineering Department University of Massachusetts Amherst MA 01003). His research interests include unconfined aquifer contamination hazardous waste site remediation and analytical modeling of problems in environmental fluid mechanics. Dr. Ostendorf is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts and a member of the American Geophysical Union American Society of Civil Engineers Soil Science Society of America Water Pollution Control Federation and Association of Environmental Engineering Professors as well as the National Water Well Association.2 Lowell E. Leach is an environmental engineer with the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (RS Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory U.S. EPA P.O. Box 1198 Ada OK74820). Leach received his B.S. ingeological engineering at the University of Oklahoma in 1959 and has been a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma since 1966. With 29 years of experience in field applications of geological engineering he is responsible for developing methodology for sampling ground water and subsurface materials for the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Laboratory.3 Erich S. Hinlein is a research assistant in the Environmental Engineering Program of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Massachusetts (Civil Engineering Department University of Massachusetts Amherst MA 01003). His research interests are in microwave measurements numerical electromagnetics and signal processing. Biographies and photos are not available for M. Manela and R. K. Lade. Tapan K. Sarkar (Sf69-M'76-SM'X1) was born in Calcutta. India on August 2 1948. He received the BTech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur India in 1969 the MScE degree from the University of New Brunswick Fredericton Canada in 1971. and the MS and PhD degrees from Syracuse University. Syracuse NY in 1975. From 1975-1976 he was with the TACO Division of the General Instruments Corporation. He was with the Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester NY) from 1976-1985. He was a Research Fellow at the Gordon Mckay Laboratory Harvard University Cambridge MA from 1977 to 1978. He is now a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Syracuse University. His current research interests deal with numerical solutions of operator equations arising in electromagnetics and signal processing with application to system design. He obtained one of the “ best solution” awards in May 1977 at the Rome Air Development Center (RADC) Spectral Estimation Workshop. He has authored or coauthored more than 154 journal articles and conference papers and has written chapters in eight books. Dr. Sarkar is a registered professional engineer in the state of New York. He received the Best Paper Award of the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility in 1979. After language training at Middle Language College he studied at the University of Tokyo's Department of Naval Architecture where he received a MSE in 1975 and a doctor of engineering degree in 1978. As an assistant professor at the University of Michigan (1979–1983) Dr. Latorre began his study of towed vessel safety and river tow design. This resulted in a multiyear project sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation on towed vessel safety. This work was continued after he joined the University of New Orleans where he designed a 38.3m × 4.6m × 0.03–2.1m variable depth towing tank for ship offshore and inland waterway hydrodynamic studies. His research interests include cavitation noise high speed craft design and computational fluid dynamics. During the 1986 academic year he taught as a professor at the University of Tokyo's Mechanical Engineering Department. During this time he began to interact with artificial intelligence robotics and computer vision researchers in Japan. Mauricio Le Sage:received his BSC (bachelor's degree) in 1986. He is a graduate student at the University of New Orleans. His research interests are in the areas of artificial intelligence computer graphics and expert systems. At the time of this paper a joint effort entitled “An Inductive Approach To Plagiarism Detection In Computer Programs” by Gerard K. Rambally and Mauricio Le Sage was pending publication.

He was National Coffin Foundation Fellow of the General Electric Company National Tau Beta Pi Fellow and National Sigma Tau Fellow at the Moore School of Electrical Engineering University of Pennsylvania and at M.I.T. prior to World War II. He was also awarded a National Gordon McKay Fellowship by Harvard University and received the A. Atwater Kent Award in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. A licensed radio amateur at 12 Mr. Herr first worked summers at RCA and Bell Laboratories and was with the General Electric Company in 1939 and 1940 as development engineer before volunteering for over five years of active Naval duty. He served as Officer-in-Charge Electrical Minesweeping Group Bureau of Ships December 1940 to April 1943 as Acting Design Superintendent and Officer-in-Charge Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbor Surge Investigation U. S. Naval Shipyard Terminal Island to November 1944 and as Research-Patents Liaison Officer Office of Naval Research to January 1946 returning to inactive duty as lieutenant commander U.S.N.R. Mr. Herr received two Navy letters of commendation. Since 1946 he was assistant to vice president in charge of the engineering division of Control Instrument Company Brooklyn New York and is project engineer at the Reeves Instrument Corporation responsible for new servo and computer component developments. Mr. Herr has been associated with Dean Harold Pender and Professor Ernst Guillemin in advanced network theory and has specialized for 12 years in development and design of servomechanisms differential analyzers computers and fire control systems utilizing advanced network analysis and synthesis methods. Mr. Herr is also presently teaching servomechanisms network-synthesis and feedback amplifier design in the Graduate School of the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He has contributed frequently to the JOURNAL OF THE AMERICA
