Automatic Turning ON/OFF Bike Indicator Using Offline GPS Navigation System

In the present modern world, most of the people are using the roadways for transportation purposes. The utilization of roadways increases by one side, on the other side the road accidents are also escalating. The current assessment shows that the reasons for the road accidents are not obeying the traffic rules, inappropriate usage of indicators while turning right or left while driving the vehicles and so on. In peak hours and in traffic times people are speeding up with their vehicle and forgot to use their indicator. This leads to an accident while sudden turning and braking without a proper indication. In order to overcome these types of difficulties, an automatic turning on/off bike indicators using offline GPS navigation system is proposed. The proposed system works in an offline mode and does not need any internet connectivity. By turning on the supply to the board, it will generate the hotspot and it will be connected with Wi-Fi in Mobile Phone. Then the destination is fixed in the mobile application. When turning is available in the way to destination before 100 meters of that turning, indicator will be automatically turned on and after that indicator will be automatically turned off. Thus the proposed work would help the people during the rush hours and also during the emergency situations to avoid accidents.

TITLE: 從加護病房家屬觀點探究重症病情告知的經驗. 背景: 病情告知是減少醫病認知落差的重要步驟，且能減輕家屬心理壓力。現階段研究仍缺乏家屬對重症病情告知經驗及需求之探討。. 目的: 瞭解重症家屬病情告知經驗及過程需求。. 方法: 採描述現象學，立意取樣5位加護病房疾病嚴重度≥ 20分的病人家屬進行深度訪談。以Giorgi現象學分析法，利用Nvivo 11分析歸納資料。. 結果: 整體經驗包含四大主題：（一）訊息聽了無法懂，希望疑問詳細解、（二）無助找尋為解答，期望護理來幫忙、（三）託付專業卻無奈，渴望醫療多些愛、（四）重重難關多牽絆，盼望見解來割斷。. 結論／實務應用: 病情告知著重傳遞結果，家屬無法理解病情變化原因。本研究建議醫療專業人員應體認家屬認知程度，並顧及其情緒反應，納入家屬需求及期待，以病人為中心提供個別化告知。.;BACKGROUND: Truth-telling is an important step toward reducing the cognitive gap between physicians and patients as well as reducing the psychological pressures applied to physicians by family members. There is a lack of research on the truth-telling experience and needs in the intensive care unit from the perspective of patient family members. PURPOSE: This study is designed to explore the experiences and needs of families in the intensive care unit. METHODS: A descriptive phenomenology method was used in this study. In-depth interviews were conducted with five participants who had family members assessed with acute physiology and chronic health evaluation II scores ≥ 20. Data were analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological methods and Nvivo 11. RESULTS: Four experience themes were examined, including (1) nothing is clear, requires explanation;(2) helpless to find answers, need a nurse to resolve this issue;(3) professional conduct makes us feel helpless, longing for love from the medical team;(4) decisions are very difficult, hoping to get more help. CONCLUSIONS / IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: The family members expressed that they were unable to understand the underlying causes of the progression in patient condition because the medical team only presented outcomes to the family and did not discuss related causes. Thus, it is recommended that medical teams learn to recognize the cognitive processes of patient family members and consider their emotions, including their needs and expectations, in order to provide individualized explanations based on a patient's status and progress.

In the contemporary phase of big data, data visualization is one of the challenging segment of the discovery process. For a classifier, the primary goal is to identify the hidden levels of big data. The performance of classifiers depends on the feature space, number of classes and size of the data. To improve the reliability, efficiency and accuracy of the classifiers, new algorithms are required for analysis. This paper enables classification and visualization of information on diseases using a Deep Learning based Convolution Neural Network classifier. For feature selection and handling massive data in analysis of multivariate data is performed using particle swarm optimization (PSO) and principal component analysis (PCA) techniques. Real-world datasets are utilized for demonstration of the proposed learning algorithm. Deep learning classifiers are scientifically higher and offers better performance when compared to other classifiers according to the comparative study.

A science department on the campus of the University of Illinois has received numerous national awards for excellence in undergraduate teaching. The secret to their success? For nearly two decades, they have collaboratively used evidence-based instructional practices (EBIP) in their introductory level courses. Despite these successes and efforts to spread their EBIP, no other departments followed this department's lead. Then, suddenly six years ago, many instructors from other departments began adopting EBIP in their classrooms. This article asks what was the catalyst for this change? Why had previous attempts at institutional change failed? The authors answer these questions by analyzing their efforts to transform the teaching practices in large-enrollment science and engineering introductory courses on their campus.

Urban people minimize shopping time in daily life due to time constrain. From that point of view, the concept of supermarket is being popular while consumers can buy different items from same place. However, customer spends hours and hours to find desired items in a large supermarket. In addition, it's also required to be queued during payment at counter that is also time consuming. As a result, a customer has to spend 2-3 hours for shopping in a large superstore. This paper proposes an Internet of Things and Li-Fi based automated application for smart phone and web to find items easily during shopping that can save consumer's time as well as reduce man power in supermarket.

The clock bias in different sectors of a cellular base transceiver station (BTS) cell is studied. A dynamical model relating the clock biases in different BTS sectors is identified and validated experimentally. A theoretical estimation error lower bound due to the discrepancy between sector clock biases is derived and demonstrated against Monte Carlo simulation runs. Experimental results of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) navigating exclusively with cellular code division multiple access signals are presented. These results demonstrate a 10.51m reduction in the UAV's position estimation error due to incorporating the developed sector mismatch model into the estimation framework.

In the past few years, a lot of research has been done in the field of Microgrids (MG) and Smart Grids (SG). The goals of them are to make the power infrastructure more reliable, effective and to incorporate Distributed Generations (DG) for example Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, Batteries in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Nowadays, roof top solar systems and micro CHP have become really popular for home usage. With the installation of solar Photovoltaics (PV), and micro CHP (mCHP) users are already participating in the operation of DC-AC systems. Therefore, it is important to control their usage. This can be done using an Energy Management System (EMS). The whole system (home and power grid) can be controlled on various parameters. These parameters can include power generated from solar PV, mCHP and power grid, state of charge of battery, AC and DC load demand, price of power, selection of renewable or grid power by the user, etc. The purpose of this paper is to develop appropriate control algorithms for the energy management of DG units in an AC/DC Microgrid which mainly incorporated PVs units (PV), mCHP and Batteries. The main focus is on the energy control and management of the mCHP system in order to meet the consumers’ electrical and thermal needs and to minimize the power flow from the main power grid. All algorithms have been implemented with the Matlab program.

Software is essential for the bulk of research today. It appears in the research cycle as infrastructure (both inputs and outputs, software obtained from others before the research is performed and software provided to others after the research is complete), as well as being part of the research itself (e.g., new software development). To measure and give credit for software contributions, the simplest path appears to be to overload the current paper citation system so that it also can support citations of software. A multidisciplinary working group built a set of principles for software citation in late 2016. Now, in ACAT 2017 and its proceedings, we want to experimentally encourage those principles to be followed, both to provide credit to the software developers and maintainers in the ACAT community and to try out the process, potentially finding flaws and places where it needs to be improved.

Wild life passer species recognition from a technical passage through data fusion of a wireless sensor network

This paper presents a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) system which was created as a project about protecting wildlife using sensor networks following the assistance of the department of electrical and computer engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace. An automated process was implemented, regarding the recognition of a passenger (ie human, wolf, bear, etc.) traversing a box-shaped underground passage, such as the ones located along main highways fusing Width, Height and Weight values. These were measured using low-cost distance (beam) and weight (S-type load) micro-sensors and stored in a central repository. Moreover, the information provided by the WSN was analyzed, via a variety of methods including a neural pattern recognition network as well as clustering algorithms, which were able to recognize the kind of passenger, with certainty scores over 90%. The main concern, regarding the future, is the evaluation of these passages in respect to their effectiveness, i.e. whether they are frequently utilized by animals. This information was further analysed by appropriate information systems, in order to provide insights about the effectiveness of such mitigation structures.

The emerging three-dimensional (3D) chip architectures, with their intrinsic capability of reducing the wire length, promise attractive solutions to reduce the delay of interconnects in future microprocessors. 3D memory stacking enables much higher memory bandwidth for future chip-multiprocessor design, mitigating the "memory wall" problem. In addition, heterogenous integration enabled by 3D technology can also result in innovative designs for future microprocessors. This book first provides a brief introduction to this emerging technology, and then presents a variety of approaches to designing future 3D microprocessor systems, by leveraging the benefits of low latency, high bandwidth, and heterogeneous integration capability which are offered by 3D technology.
