Pattern matching is one of the emerging areas in computational *** biology is a central research in many sequence *** DNA related data is a common activity for molecular biologists to retrieve necessary and use full information from the *** most of the techniques do not provide straight forward methods for searching DNA *** this paper we introduce a new pattern matching technique called index based sequential multiple pattern matching algorithm using least *** present technique avoids unnecessary DNA comparisons as a result the number of comparisons and CPC ratio gradually decreases and overall performance increases.

Pattern matching is well known and fundamental problem in *** is one of the emerging areas in computational *** DNA related data is a common activity for molecular biologists for finding the structural and functional behavior in protein and *** this research we propose a new pattern matching technique called an index based sequential multiple pattern matching *** algorithms have been proposed but more efficient and robust methods are needed for the multiple pattern matching *** the current approach we explore a new technique which avoids unnecessary comparisons in the DNA *** to this,the number of comparisons gradually decreases and comparison per character ratio of the proposed algorithm reduces accordingly when compared to the some of the existing popular *** experimental results show that there is considerable amount of performance improvement due to this the overall performance increases.

In this study, a mobile learning system is developed for a training program. With the assistance of the mobile learning system, the students are able to learn in an authentic learning scenario, in which they can physically face the target, with the personal guidance and supplementary materials from the learning system to support them. To show the effectiveness of this innovative approach, an experiment has been employed on the virtual university. The experimental results show that the innovative approach is helpful to students in improving their learning achievements. Moreover, it was found that most students showed favourable attitudes toward the usage of the mobile learning system and their participation in the training program.

Image registration is of great significance to medicine and remote sensing, so a lot of techniques have been developed within the context of one or the other discipline. This paper proposes an approach for medical image registration using Modified Gabor Wavelet Transform (MGWT) for Modified Adaptive Polar Transform (MAPT). This algorithm can be used to register images of the same or different modalities. This transform analyzes periodic signal components and presents the advantage of being independent of the window length. The performance of the Modified Gabor Wavelet Transform is compared with previous methods like Log Polar Transform and Adaptive Polar Transform. The results show that MGWT outperforms all evaluated model-independent methods with respect to identification accuracy. These results show that the basis of errors produced by the previous methods is the fixed working scale. The new method not only avoids this basis of errors but also makes a tool available for detailed study.

To compare the performance of two speech coders, it is necessary to have some indicator of the intelligibility and quality of the speech produced by each coder. The term intelligibility usually refers to whether the output speech is easily understandable, while the term quality is an indicator of how natural the speech sounds. It is possible for a coder to produce highly intelligible speech from low quality, in that the speech may sound very machine-like and the speaker is not identifiable. On the other hand, it is unlikely that unintelligible speech would be called high quality, but there are situations in which perceptually pleasing speech does not have high intelligibility. In this paper the most common measures of speech enhancement models suited for speech recognition with specific emphasis on wavelet based approach are presented.

A Study On Iterative Learning Control With Adjustment Of Learning Interval For Monotone Convergence In The Sense Of Sup-Norm

Zeungname Bien:received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from Seoul National University Seoul Korea in 1969 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Iowa Iowa City Iowa U.S.A. in 1972 and 1975 respectively. During 1976–1977 academic years he taught as assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering University of Iowa. Then Dr. Bien joined Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology summer 1977 and is now Professor of Control Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science KAIST. Dr. Bien was the president of the Korea Fuzzy Logic and Intelligent Systems Society during 1990–1995 and also the general chair of IFSA World Congress 1993 and for FUZZ-IEEE99 respectively. He is currently co-Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Fuzzy Systems (IJFS) Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems and a regional editor for the International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing. He has been serving as Vice President for IFSA since 1997 and is now Chief Chairman of Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea and Director of Humanfriendly Welfare Robot System Research Center. His current research interests include intelligent control methods with emphasis on fuzzy logic systems service robotics and rehabilitation engineering and large-scale industrial control systems. Kwang-Hyun Park:received the B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from KAIST Korea in 1994 19997 and 2001 respectively. He is now a researcher at Human-friendly Welfare Robot System Research Center. His research interests include learning control machine learning human-friendly interfaces and service robotics.

It has been found that some huge overshoot in the sense of sup-norm may be observed when typical iterative learning control (ILC) algorithms are applied to LTI systems, even though monotone convergence in the sense of λ-norm is guaranteed. In this paper, a new ILC algorithm with adjustment of learning interval is proposed to resolve such an undesirable phenomenon, and it is shown that the output error can be monotonically converged to zero in the sense of sup-norm when the proposed ILC algorithm is applied. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
