Wireless Sensor Network is one of the rapid emerging technology in recent decades. It covers large application area as civilian and military. Wireless Sensor Network primary consists of sensor nodes having low-power, low cost and multifunctional activities to collaborates and communicates via wireless medium. The deployment of sensor nodes are adhoc in nature, so sensor nodes are auto organize themselves in such a way to communicate with each other. The characteristics make more challenging areas on WSNs. This paper gives overview about characteristics of WSNs, Architecture and Contention Based MAC protocol. The paper present analysis of various protocol based on performance.

This paper presents the first version of the AIRA-UAS corpus. It is a set of recordings produced by the ego-noise of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) performing different aerial maneuvers. We also recorded audios produced by other drones flying near the UAV capturing the audio signals on board. The aim of this corpus is to provide an evaluation mechanism for sound source localization and separation algorithms, where the sound data capture process is carried out on board an UAV We argue that this corpus will be useful for the development of UAV applications focusing on search & rescue operations as well as for detection of unauthorized drone operation. In addition, we also argue that our corpus may prove useful to assess the impact level at which the noise produced by drones affects the welfare of human beings and wildlife.

A Cached Middleware to Improve I/O Performance Using POSIX Interface

The performance of computing devices is increasing day by day, the storage devices are not capable to reach with this benchmark. The compute and storage resources are forming two parts of the shared network. This paper is presenting a storage middleware called HyCache+ to reduce the high bi-section bandwidth of the parallel computing systems. The middleware uses Programmable Operating System (POSIX) interface to the end users to swap the data with the high capacity network attached storage. The system uses a 2-layer scheduling approach. The HyCache+ can be deployed on the IBM Blue Gene / P supercomputers for the performance comparison.

Emotions play a vibrant role in life as the human reaction or response to a system is purely based on the nature of his emotion, may it be the response to a computer system or to fellow mates. The need and significance of automatic emotion recognition have grown with the emergent role of human computer interface applications and the development of AI based companions or self-assistance system. The development of AI and machine learning systems has paved a brighter way for the optimistic yet accurate emotion recognizing systems. Emotion recognition can be done from any form of response from a person such as text, speech, facial expression or gesture. The proposed system introduces an emotion recognition system, based on human eye movement using electrooculography (EOG) signals. Based on EOG signals emotions are classified as happy, sad, angry, fear and pleasant. Multi-class Support Vector Machines is used for classifying the processed Electrooculography signals and for feature extraction ICA (Independent Component Analysis) is used. Using these techniques, human emotions are recognized and inputted in an augmented reality (AR) system where the humans can interact or respond to the system.

Intelligent Decision Support System for Dementia Care Through Smart Home

As per the statistics of WHO (World Health Organization), major percentages of aged society across the globe are affected with memory related disease - dementia. The percentage of dement people would be doubled in future and hence assistive health care systems have become predominant. Smart home, an ubiquitous environment offers ambient assisted living to its occupant through activity recognition and decision making process. This research work proposes an assistive dementia care environment through smart home that aid mentally disabled people with many different types of assistance during emergency. The proposed system models “Intelligent Decision Support System” that identifies deviation of the occupant from their regular activities of daily routines and decides on appropriate alerts to handle these situations. Significant criterion to model dementia care is to handle incomplete event sequences (produced due to memory loss) and to model occupant specific knowledge (provided by the care taker / doctors). Markov Logic Network (MLN), an approach of statistical relational learning models uncertain data and domain knowledge within a single framework. Thus, the proposed approach of decision support system for dementia care effectively utilizes MLN for its modeling. The experimental study made with smart home dataset showcased the competence of MLN approach of decision making has higher F-measure than existing approaches.

There has been a growing interest in Health Informatics applications, research, and education within the Middle East and North African Region over the past twenty years. People of this region share similar cultural and religious values, primarily speak the Arabic language, and have similar health care related issues, which are in dire need of being addressed. Health Informatics efforts, organizations, and initiatives within the region have been largely under-represented within, but not ignored by, the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA). Attempts to create bonds and collaboration between the different organizations of the region have remained scattered, and often, resulted in failure despite the fact that the need for a united health informatics collaborative within the region has never been more crucial than today. During the 2017 MEDINFO, held in Hangzhou, China, a new organization, the Middle East and North African Health Informatics Association (MENAHIA) was conceived as a regional non-governmental organization to promote and facilitate health informatics uptake within the region endorsing health informatics research and educational initiatives of the 22 countries represented within the region. This paper provides an overview of the collaboration and efforts to date in forming MENAHIA and displays the variety of initiatives that are already occurring within the MENAHIA region, which MENAHIA will help, endorse, support, share, and improve within the international forum of health informatics.

Re-structuring the practices of traditional inventory management is becoming more essential to optimize the supply chain transparency and accuracy of agricultural produce. A flexible and transparent inventory management system is becoming the need of any agricultural commodity. It was noticed that the major setback for the farmers who are the suppliers of the farm produce is due to poor supply chain integration. The recent advent technologies and IT explosion can bring up a greater impact in the process of storing, tracking, distributing and monitoring perishable agriculture produce of day to day life. The primary focus of this paper is to integrate IoT into inventory management and other inbound logistics management of agriculture produce. The unique features of agricultural produce like a prediction of supply, demand, the location of warehouses, distribution and tracking of inventory can be integrated through IoT. This paper proposes a conceptual framework for inventory management transparency involved in the supply chain of agriculture produce.

Online product reviews provide data about the users perspective on the features that were experienced by them. Product features and corresponding opinions form a major part in analyzing the online product reviews. Extracting features from a huge number of reviews is categorized into three main categories such as utilizing language rules, sequence labeling and the topic modeling. Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) is one such topic model which clusters the document words into unsupervised learned topics using Dirichlet priors. The words so clustered are the features and opinion words in the product reviews domain. These clusters contain words which are non features of the product. To identify appropriate product features from these clusters a hierarchical, domain independent Feature Ontology Tree (FOT) is applied to LDA clusters. This improves the accuracy of the features using extracted LDA topic clusters.

Text-mining is one of the best potential way of automatically extracting information from the huge biological literature. To exploit its prospective, the knowledge encrypted in the text should be converted to some semantic representation such as entities and relations, which could be analyzed by machines. But large-scale practical systems for this purpose are rare. But text mining could be helpful for generating or validating predictions. Cellulases have abundant applications in various industries. Cellulose degrading enzymes are cellulases and the same producing bacteria – Bacillus subtilis & fungus Pseudomonas putida were isolated from top soil of Guntur Dt. A.P. India. Absolute cultures were conserved on potato dextrose agar medium for molecular studies. In this paper, we presented how well the text mining concepts can be used to analyze cellulase producing bacteria and fungi, their comparative structures are also studied with the aid of well-establised, high quality standard bioinformatic tools such as Bioedit, Swissport, Protparam, EMBOSSwin with which a complete data on Cellulases like structure, constituents of the enzyme has been obtained.

Trust Based Certificate Revocation for Secure Routing in MANET

Many trust establishment solutions in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) rely on public key certificates. Therefore, they should be accompanied by an efficient mechanism for certificate revocation and validation. In order to reduce the hazards from nodes and to enhance the security of network we propose to develop a CA distribution and a Trust based threshold revocation method. Initially the trust value is computed from the direct and indirect trust values. And the certificate authorities distributes the secret key to al the nodes. Followed by this a trust based threshold revocation method is computed. Here the misbehaving nodes are eliminated.
