His research focuses on science literature and media technologies. His books include Nanovision: Engineering the Future (2008) Mondo Nano: Fun and Games in the World of Digital Matter (2015) and Respawn: Gamers Hackers and Technogenic Life (2015). Katherine Buse is an assistant professor of Media Studies at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on digital media the environmental humanities and the cultures of science and technology. Her current book project Speculative Planetology: Science Culture and the Building of Model Worlds tells the story of how the sciences and the arts co-constructed a toolkit for thinking about planets as whole systems. Ranjodh Singh Dhaliwal is Ruth and Paul Idzik College Chair in Digital Scholarship and an assistant professor of English and Film Television and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame. His work spans media theory science and technology studies and literary criticism. His current book project Rendering: A Political Diagrammatology of Computation shows how our cultural politico-economic and epistemic formulations crystallize into hardware and software architectures. Melissa Wills is a visiting scholar in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at the University of California Davis. She completed her PhD in English at UC Davis in 2021. Her research addresses the relationship between the life sciences and science fiction. Her current book project Ruptures: Life without Germs in the Microbiome Era examines microbiology's debt to the imagination of germ-free worlds. Raida Aldosari is the lead artist on the Foldit: First Contact development team. She received her BS in Nutrition Science from the University of California Davis in 2018. She has experience as a freelance graphic designer and as a project manager for nutrition training and courses.

This article explores the value of science fiction narratives in games for citizen science. Focusing on the protein-folding game Foldit, it describes the process of modifying and redesigning the game to feature a framing narrative and other alterations to the main tutorial campaign. The campaign narrative, Foldit: First Contact, situates the practices of citizen science in an expanded context of meanings and ethical implications, promoting critical self-reflection on the relations of science and civic values. A study of player responses to Foldit: First Contact suggests the significance of science fiction and critical game design for attuning citizen scientists to the collective responsibilities of experimentation and innovation, drawing attention to the intersecting social, technical, and environmental domains in which gamers may contribute to scientific research.

Over the past few years, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices have proliferated across modern manufacturing ecosystems, facilitating real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and autonomous control. Nevertheless, maintaining these devices in low-resource contexts, especially in situations where the use of wired power is impossible and battery management is not feasible, is a significant challenge. Here, we introduce a new hybrid system that combines multi-source ambient energy harvesting (vibration, heat, and RF) with a lightweight adaptive communication protocol specifically designed for energy-limited industrial settings. Harnessing real-time energy buffer levels and environmental feedback, the architecture utilizes a central middleware engine to adapt transmission behaviors, routing decisions, and node activity states. We design and test detailed models to measure the performance of the framework on major metrics such as energy usage, communication delay, packet delivery ratio, and network sustainability. We utilize a synthetic industrial case scenario with 45 IoT nodes out-deployed across three zones we show the framework's strong benefits over baseline and partial methods, reaching as high as 40 % improvement in node life, 28 % improvement in sustained throughput, and substantial improvements in node availability and energy fairness. This study provides a basis for the installation of self-sustained, resilient IoT systems in realistic industrial environments, connecting the state of the art for energy autonomy design with the state of the art in the field of communication intelligence.

Modified Chorological Coded Data Compression Methodology for Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a fast evolving current technology which is being employed in various applications. Despite its wide usage, WSNs have a few challenges to overcome to be called as an ideal technology. Some of the challenges are battery life time, memory storage and deployment issues. Batteries are the primary source of power supply to WSN and one of the major challenges is the energy constraint. This paper aims to propose a few techniques to better the energy efficiency of the sensor networks by saving sensor energy using data compression methodology. In this paper, a modified chorological coded data compression methodology is proposed (MCDC). This algorithm deals with assigning the sequence value to the given input information. If the assigned sequence value is a double digit number, it is converted in to single digit number. Double digit numbers and single digit numbers are combined. Separate location tables are generated for all double digit and single digit numbers. This procedure continues until all the sequence values are changed in to single digit number. Then the final single digit is assign with an equivalent Sequence Code (SC). MCDC algorithm is compared with DELTA compression and RUNLENGTH compression and a better compression ratio was achieved when compared with DELTA compression and RUNLENGTH compression algorithms.

Objective:To develop and evaluate a supplementary educational program ("IMPACT") centered on enabling participants to consider specifically and articulate explicitly the best path for and potential impact of their research. Design:Participants (trainees) and faculty mentors were from all areas of biomedical research. The group worked longitudinally in small, rotating groups, through a process of developing a written statement ("Impact Statement"), an overview ("Impact Storyline") and an oral presentation ("Impact Case") of their work. Results:One hundred and eighty-seven Fellows enrolled in the program. Of the 179 (96%) Fellows who completed the program, 159 (89%) responded to a post-program survey; 94% indicated that IMPACT was a significant learning experience, 89% indicated that they were more able to identify the long-term potential of their research, 95% felt more able to talk about their work to diverse audiences. Conclusion:This voluntary educational program was appreciated by the participants and led to increased confidence in their ability to drive their science towards a clear impact and communicating that potential to others. This type of program may aid in redirecting some of the efforts and resources of imaging in OA from the large focus on technical developments to more direct biological and clinical questions which might be resolved with current technology.

Emotion detection and analysis is one of the challenging and emerging issues in the field of natural language processing (NLP). Detecting an individual's emotional state from textual data is an active area of study, along with identifying emotions from facial and audio records. The study of emotions can benefit from many applications in various fields, including neuroscience, data mining, psychology, human-computer interaction, e-learning, information filtering systems and cognitive science. The rich source of text available in the Social media, blogs, customer review, news articles can be a useful resource to explore various insights in text mining, including emotions. The purpose of this study is to provide a survey of existing approaches, models, datasets, lexicons, metrics and their limitations in the detection of emotions from the text useful for researchers in carrying out emotion detection activities.

With advances in the mobile communications, many service-related tasks can be made quickly and easily. Mobile banking is one such service that has eliminated the need for a consumer to go to a branch to carry out many common transactions. In a country like India, where the last mile reach through brick-and-mortar banking facilities, mobile phones can complement the reach. This paper describes how mobile cloud architecture can be employed for banking and services to customers to enhance their banking experience as well as ensuring information security. This paper focuses on cloud-based risk architecture for banking solutions to address various issues related to mobile banking such as processing speed and storage capacity. Improved random forecast algorithm is used for the evaluation of the system. This proposed system achieves 99% of the system.

Investigation of Strength and Security of Pseudo Random Number Generators

Security is a key factor in today's fast communicating world. Many cryptographic algorithms are tested and put into use efficiently. Random numbers are used in diverse forms like nonces, secret key, initialization vector, etc. They find place in encryption, digital signature, hashing algorithms. A deterministic algorithms takes an intial seed value as input and produces pseudo random numbers with falsely induced randomness. This research work extensively surveys large set of state-of-the-art PRNGs and categorizes them based on methodology used to produce them. We compared their statistical results obtained from various statistical test tools like NIST SP 800-22, TestU01. Finally, security analyses of various PRNGs were done quantitatively for their key space, key sensitivity, entropy, speed of bit generation, linear complexity. At last, we concluded the results with some future directions for researchers to carry out their research in improving the PRNGs.

Verification and completeness are main challenges for today's ever more diverse supply chains. Even with the ability to counter blockchain technologies by offering a trail of manipulation-resistant audit It does not address the confidence issue associated with the source chain activities also information related to a produce life cycle information itself. Reputation mechanisms are a promising solution for this faith problem. Yet existing structures of credibility are Not ideal for supply chain applications based on blockchain as centred on restricted findings, lack of granularity and their overhead was not discussed and automation. We recommend the system as a three-layer faith in this job. Management platform is using a blockchain consortium tracking relationships between actors in the supply chain and Assign trust and prestige dynamically dependent on these interactions. Its novelty is based on a Model for credibility assessing product quality and the trust of individuals based on many observations funding for credibility qualities in supply chain incidents separating the member in the supply chain from the goods, enables brand credibility to be reserved for smart contracts for straightforward use by the same participant, Effective, secure, and automatic credibility scoring measurement, and the latency and throughput minimum overhead as compared to a straightforward supply chain model based on blockchain.

Bone fracture is one of the most ordinary problems in mortals because of accidents or other causes. Breaking bones can occur in our body, such as the wrist, heel, ankle, hip, rib, leg, chest, etc. Fractures cannot be seen with the naked eye, so X-ray/CT images are used to detect them. But sometimes these images lack sufficient detail for diagnosis. Today image processing plays an important role in detecting bone fractures. Image processing is important for the archiving and transmission of modern data, in particular for image transmission, video encoding, digital libraries, image databases, and remote sensing. This research paper presents detailed research on image processing methods for detecting bone fractures. The following research will help in studying various techniques that can be used to detect fractures in boned through the process of image processing and also includes updating of some new techniques as an improvement.
